Bose NC 700 Headphones have a glitch

I decided to upgrade to the newest Bose headphones after having problems with the noise cancelling from my Sony’s. However right out of the box, they refused to connect and the battery charge lights flash red and white. According to Bose that means there is an error with the headphones and you have to seek their regional support team for help...no self-help is available. It was surprising how long similar problems have been going on with this product. You can look at their forum and see it has been happening since mid-2019. Well, I bought them today and can take em back tomorrow, but the experience and this ongoing problem is disappointing.

I like these but had to buy again to replace my previous pair because the ear pads disintegrated. I take very good care of my things. Unacceptable for headphones this expensive.

This is my first noise-cancelling headphones and it increased my productivity during the days. Love this noise-cancelling function. It works so well. Sound quality is also very good.

I’ve bought this mainly to connect via Bluetooth to my living room Samsung 4K tv. And it connected perfectly. The look and comfort factor are most excellent.

Very comfortable and flexible. Many options. Not sure what to do with 11 ambient noise settings. Control is by a touch surface on one side of the headphone.

Great headphones. The blue color is also very unique. Turning Bluetooth on/off is so seamless. The noise cancellation can be adjusted and at level 10, it is awesome.

Returned this item . They sounded great for music one of the best around but pricey just to use on phone as they only work for a couple Bose products which I do not own.

    Another example of bose failure

I've purchased bose products before that looked good on paper and design until put to the actual test.... and Bose has bought them back at full price. These ones are the last chance i've given them. It's so sad too... i've owned their ~$1300 aviation headsets for years. When I purchased these i expected 20 hours of run time (like my QC35's offered). Upon initial charge I got 19 hours of runtime. Immediately after setup, the bose app downloaded a firmware update for them and upon completion I had ~17 hours remaining. Now, after a few charges I am limited to 14-15 hours on a headset that's only weeks old. Turns out this is classic bose. They hosed the firmware update. And in true bose fashion you cannot downgrade your firmware without a full manual process available via github (and the app will keep trying to re-update you). They also are too stupid as a company that they need to immediately release a fix being the previous code with the version/dates changed. No, they won't do that because they need to be able to brag about the EQ etc they added in this super broken firmware. To them, they would rather be able to state they have these new features and potentially sell more units than to make things right for those who have already purchased. One last thing, this isn't a one off or just an unlucky headset. This happened to EVERY current owner. Check their support forums and you will see there's a full thread on the battery level issue being now 75%-80% of advertised level. On the build/design of these headset- It's really disappointing that they put the soft touch buttons on the same part of the headset that rests on your chest when you don't have the muffs on your ears. I realized one day that my phone was going bananas while walking around the shop. It was then that I noticed that the on/off button lays on my chest as i'm walking so the set was constantly on/off and connecting to my phone each time. AVOID this brand. Do NOT buy this headset if you will depend on it for everyday work.

I'm not a bass head but the bass on these headphones is lacking a punch. There's also something on the inside of the ear phone that rubs against your ear which causes discomfort over time. I'm constantly re-adjusting the ear cup to keep that from happening. Otherwise the sound is crisp and you can here instrument detail which is nice. I haven't had the connectivity issues some have had with Bluetooth so I can't comment on that.
