I tried the Sony XM4 but they were too small and had just eh noise-canceling compared to my much older XM2s. Their sound was nice and open but lacked bass and the mids sounded really flat with no liveliness. The noise-canceling was really a strong point. Sadly these too had very high clamping force on my big head. QC45 is a better buy at a lower price.

I am sorry you personally dislike the fit of the headphones. Our ear cushions are made from plush protein leather for longer listening sessions.
Our earcups are tilted at 15 degrees to mirror the anatomy of the human head and ears. And the secure steel headband is designed to fit comfortably on your head with an underside of soft silicone-covered foam.
We understand the need for a good fit for comfort.

When all you’re getting is ambient noise and USB-C vs. Micro usb I don’t see them as worth the upgrade
