    Great headphones for work!

Extremely high quality headphones. I bought them for work and they are great! Really blocks the outside noise, it’s comfortable and you can tell the high quality of the headphones! The only thing I would say is the mic is ok, not great. I do have times where the mic isn’t as clear as I would have hoped. This could be user error too. I’d recommend these headphones. It’s my 2nd pair of Bose headphones and they’ve been great!

I’ve had these headphones for 3 years now and have not had any issues. I take it to the gym so it’s gotten a lil banged up. At this point all I need is to replace the headphone cushions. I might had not had to if I didn’t sweat in them every time I use it.

    One autistic review

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Got these because my sony wh1000xm4 broke at the hinge and my autistic ears need good noise cancelling. Noise cancelling is ok. not great at cancelling voices, one of my primary desires. Sound quality is great. The volume of the headphones is really loud. And there isn't much you can do about it. (Example being the battery readout volume.) the headphones don't have a volume control of it's own. This means i found myself going between setting volumes at like 70% or 2% with very little in-between. The touch panel control is convenient when you want it incredibly inconvenient when you don't with no way to turn it off. I found myself leaning on my arm and that would blast the battery readout. Great at swapping between 2 devices like phone and computer or work and personal phones. But won't disconnect a device to swap in the 3rd even if you tell it to. (It automatically reconnects the device you just told it to disconnect) It did make my ears really warm and a bit sweaty. Extended time wearing them does leave my ears sore.

Good headphones let down by the iOS app

The Bose 700 headphones are easy to adjust with soft comfortable ear cup cushions that swivel up/down and left/right for long sessions. I found the headphones were comfortable for hours and that the band was not overly tight on my large head. I say large as I typically need to adjust baseball caps out to the max for a good fit. The battery is rated for 20 hours and my first two uses lasted a bit longer than that. They are recharged via a USB-C port. It takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge the headphones. But a the Quick-Charge feature will get you 3.5 hours of play with just a 15-minute charge. There are just 3 buttons; power on/off/Bluetooth, Noise cancellation selection (0, 5, 10 by default), and a button for a personal assistant, either Siri, Alexa, or Google assistant. There are 8 microphones used for noise cancelling, talking to your chosen digital assistant, and of course making phone calls. With the noise cancellation set to the max, most noise is blocked, I’d guess around 90%. Swipe up and down to adjust volume, front and back to move through tracks, double tap for pause/play/end call music, and hold down for battery charge level as hours left. I like this interface better than knobs or sliders that eventually get infiltrated with dust and sound crackly or fail. However, it was difficult to make small volume changes when my skin was too dry. After running hands under water and patting dry, it worked as expected. If you suffer from dry skin, this interface may pose a problem for you. When Bluetooth is not an option, such as on a plane, there is a small 2.5 MM headphone jack at the bottom of the left ear cup. The headphones come with a 2.5mm to 3.5mm DIN headphone cable that fits into a compartment with the USB-C power cable in the semi-hard headphone case for safe keeping. Straight out of the box I was able to easily discover and pair the Bose 700 from my Surface tablet, LG TV, and my iPhone after pushing the power/Bluetooth button on the headphones, which blink blue during the pairing process. There was no need to download and use the app for basic Bluetooth pairing and use. In listening I found the bass sounded a bit flat regardless of the noise cancellation setting. Phone calls were clear at both ends and the noise cancellation worked really well. I installed the app, which to use you have to register with Bose to get an account. The app lets you adjust the noise cancellation and other button presents. You also can connect to your music apps from here. The app connects to Amazon Music, Deezer, iHeart Radio, Pandora, Spotify, and Sirius XM. After I installed the app, my iPhones Bluetooth could no longer find the headphones. I tried to connect to the headphones within the app, which takes a few taps and seems to take forever... The app advises connecting “may take a minute or two”, which is by no means an exaggeration. There are documented issues with the Bose Music App on iOS. Bose has a support site and user forums where I found some help in the forums at https://bose.life/2Y50CKK. Some of the tips have helped at times, but not always. Getting these headphones connected between devices each time I use them has been hit or miss and consumed too much time. I configured the settings on the headphones, then removed the app. I now connect with standard Bluetooth and run my apps on their own OK. I am hopeful that one day in the not to distant future I will try a newer version of app again and find the problems have been resolved.

I like everything about this headset, and maybe I got a faulty one, but the battery on my headset seems to die really quick. If I had a chance to do it again, I probably wouldnt buy this. The only thing this headset has going for it is the level of comfort compared to other headphones.

    UNpleasantly Surprised- 700vsQC35 NOT comfy

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Finally time for a new ANC Headphone to replace my aged QC15’s. I’ve waited months for the 700s to compare to the QC35s & finally got to check them out in-store/s. My son loves his QC35s, me too, but, I waited.. #1. There’s a reason all the “Hands-on’ Reviews don’t show people testing the headband ect.. Everyone gives them a twist! It happens in real life. They (headphones) grab something and break (You’ve seen it), I grabbed the 700s and really didn’t notice the slight heavier weight, but the sound of a crack/crunch STOPPED me from twisting the headband/Phones more than a little-bit & scared me! I would NOT treat them like you could the QCs. I am not going to talk about the Mic upgrades~ because if that is what you want these for, you will not beat them! There’s a reason the QC35 are NOT going anywhere! I wondered why, but not anymore. These 700 have NO qC, no comfort (when comparing the two). The way the cups install to the band is unique, but it was done in the 90’s? Well, something close & on cheaper headbands. Look at the slider between the body and the band. That is either stronger than anyone knows, or is a disaster in waiting? I felt as if I had to baby the set. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t beat up my stuff, but it is just a tool, and it needs to inspire confidence! I wish they folded! So I’ll talk about comfort as I couldn’t tell much difference at all in sound, Noice cancelling (and passive) was not as good. Actually, everyone trying them with us said the same thing. So there must be something there. This was echoed in both stores with the 4 sets we tried. Everyone said the QCs were better in ANC, Passive, Sound & comfort? Did Bose send out ALL bad demos in the 700 series & good ones for the QCs? I doubt it. Again not what I expected. When ANC was active & no sound, the QCs faired better again? The headband on these (due to the width) of the way the band comes down wider puts more pressure on the TOP of your head. I get migraines & I DO feel more pinching. Big Issue = If you shave your head, or if you are going Bald, that plastic-ish tacky feeling headband will drive you NUTS! & you will sweat! This is not for people with shaved heads on long flights or trains, you will feel friction, and maybe get a rash. I’ll stop there... I was very, VERY disappointed & has HIGH hopes with all the buzz & “Ground Up” rebuild. I’m fully expecting the REAL reviews to come out on these 700s, with these being firmly in the category of ‘coffee shop headphones’ that look “cool” with and awesome Mic & a more “Awesome” price tag... I am very happy Bose still makes the QC35s! FYI: We have many ANC Headphones including the QC35s ‘nemesis’ the S-M3. I could care less what name is on the Tool, I just want the tool to work well. Hope this helps.

Enjoy the ease of use for listening to music, but have experienced nothing but frustration when trying to connect to my computer and use these as a headset on Zoom or Microsoft Teams with bluetooth. I have tried all of the troubleshooting and no improvement. Seems like I am not the only one experiencing this based off the countless threads online with the same issue. For that price, I would expect much more. Lesson learned.
