Amazing and larger than life sound!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones really do their job and then some! I am still learning all features they hold there are so many to choose from besides just giving you the most comfortable ear cradling fit and cancelling even super loud noises around you. I can use these with my Alexa and just be in my own little peaceful world or jam out to my favorite tunes and feel like I'm right there hearing the music live! I have been totally surprised at just how well they drown out loud sounds and transport you to a different place. Then you have a harsh reality when you take them off and hear the loud noises that were going on around you and know just how amazing they really do work! These were my first pair of Bose I have had and they are top notch! My only downside was that it didn't seem to have a power down button and seemed it just powers down by being idle after a few minutes. It isn't a big deal, just wanted to mention my only drawback. The cushions for the ears are all encompassing and were super comfortable to the point I almost forget I have them on after awhile.

Fantastic Headset - Clear and Comfortable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is really nothing I dislike about these headsets! First off, I prefer the Bose Noise Cancelling ear buds and have 2 sets. Just not a fan of having my hair crushed down by over the head sets. But, I was taking a trip to Japan and the ear buds start to irritate my ears just a bit after about 3 hours so I wanted 13+ hour comfort. Boy did I find it with these headsets! No discomfort at all, No irritation, just lightweight perfection. AND the battery lasts 20 hours - more than enough for my entire trip! American Airlines, in First Class, offers a very expensive, high dollar set of headphones which I tried. However, these Bose where far more comfortable and the audio clarity was superior. Glad I brought these for the long trip! At first I wanted the Bose version that comes with the USB adapter for my laptop. Some people reported phone calls and other laptop communication is not good with these without the USB adapter - WRONG!!! I now constantly use these for conference calls on my laptop, perfect clarity and connection - zero need to the USB. Glad I didn't pay the extra $50 and then have to keep track of that USB device. The sound quality is amazing, love the functionality with the Bose App on my phone, comfort is incredible - extremely happy with this purchase!

Amazing ANC headphones
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using these headphones for about a week now, and I must say, it does NOT disappoint. I’ve been very impressed with the clarity of both the music and phone call quality. I returned my Sony WH-1000 xm3 and got this instead, and I don’t regret my decision one bit. Although, the Sony does tend to give off a more punchier bass, I found the Bose has a crisper, clearer more vibrant vocal sound. Also, in my opinion, the phone call quality on the Bose is way better than that on the Sony m3. I love the clean design of the Bose 700 and the way it feels (both in hand on on head). All in all, this is a wonderful product!!

Happy with these headphones, but missing EQ
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was torn between these headphones and the much lauded Sony WH-1000XM3 as my first pair of good ANC headphones. I mainly listen to classical, and wanted a good pair of wireless headphones primarily for use at home while working in my office during the day. Here were my observations and other factors that drove my decision: 1) Sound quality – it's hard to make this comparison, because they have different test tracks playing through the in-store display models. As a side note, I was pleased that I was able to pair the Sonys to my iPhone, giving me the opportunity to hear how my own music sounds through them, while the Bose had the pairing button disabled. Still, I could tell that both of them were capable of producing great sound, I just wish Bose would have let me pair the display unit to my phone. I'm happy with how the Bose 700s sound. I must admit, as a non-audiophile listener, I do generally fall into the "I want more bass!" category, even with the classical music I listen to. But the more pieces I listen to, I've come to recognize that the bass is definitely there, it's just very well-balanced and controlled as opposed to jumping out at me, which I have to acknowledge is a good thing. 2) Noise reduction – the Sonys seemed maybe slightly better for the type of noise that was going on in the store, but it was close. Initially I didn't put this feature high up on my priority list, since I won't be using them much while traveling or in other noisy environments, but after having the Bose 700s for several days, I've come to appreciate having it, as it enables me to better hear the more delicate and quiet passages of pieces without the murmur of computer fans and other office noise intruding. 3) Build quality – the Bose 700s feel like a (reasonably) finely-made, high-quality product, while the Sonys felt relatively cheap, flimsy, and creaky. In particular, the widespread reports of the Sony headband being prone to cracking was a major factor in choosing the Bose, with it's much more solid feel. 4) Comfort – Both felt equally comfortable in-store. My ears do get a bit sweaty after a while of wearing, but I think that comes with the territory with these kinds of over-ear headphones. 5) Style – while the design might perhaps be polarizing to some, I personally think these are some of the nicest headphones I've ever seen. 6) Phone calls – this was a fairly important factor, as I want the ability to take calls while working without having to remove the headphones. Though I didn't have an opportunity to compare the two headphones on this, it's pretty much an established fact that the Sonys are awful for phone calls, while the Bose 700 excels. 7) Pairing – another important factor. I wanted to be able to easily switch between my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, and iMac. This was almost a non-starter for the Sonys, as reports make it clear that in order to switch to a new device, you first have to manually disconnect from the device it's currently connected to (even if it's in another room). Bose is better in this regard, allowing any two devices to be connected (I usually keep my iPhone connected, and switch the second slot among the computers and iPad, which is done from the iPhone app), but apparently is still a step back from how the Bose QC-35 allows the user to simply push a button to cycle between numerous paired devices. 8) App – Sony clearly wins here. Inexplicably, Bose does not offer the ability to customize the sound with an EQ. I don't feel an urgent, pressing need to adjust the sound of these headphones, but I'd still like to have that option. Several professional reviews of the Bose 700 indicated that they were told this feature will be implemented in a future update, so hopefully that is accurate. Additionally, it's very annoying (and unnecessary) for Bose to force users to create and log in to a Bose account in the app just to control the headphones. In summary, I'm happy with this purchase, and hope Bose implements EQ as well as perhaps a way to switch between more devices from the headset itself (instead of having to go into the app).

Good, but too tight
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall great headphones. Good build quality, sound, and decent battery. The touch controls worked great, but I ended up returning them because of the clamping force. They were well cushioned, but squeezed my head too much for the price. Comfort is subjective, of course, so I recommend trying them on somewhere before you buy.

Setting the record straight
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, I can't believe how many people don't justly rank these. I am one of those people that have Bowers and Wilkins PX's, Sony X3, Sennheiser px550s and M2's, Master&Dynamics m60's and m65's, and finally the original QC35 II's. I listen to everything from Dave Matthews, Metallica, Future, Eya, Alexis Ffrench, and all the way to Boris Brejcha. I am not one of those One dimensional listener that don't know the difference between true sonic sub bass vs muddy and floody Bass. So for the initiated, this headphone has no equal. The clarity and bass sonic quick punches are so perfectly placed. The sound stage clarity is unmatched by any other headphone that I have every tried in my life. The comfort is so perfectly placed and balanced especially with the cupped ear designed of the ear-pads that contained angled drivers which makes the sound-stage better than others. I know most people will confuse more bass and less mids with fun sounds like you get on the Sony's but if mids are muffled because you have this bass signature regardless if it's suppose to be there or not then you can't get a proper sound-stage and this where the Bose beats all others. Mids, highs, and lows are balanced and yet powerful and accurate. Add this to the amazing unmatched phone quality (if you needed it) and the Truthful battery hours of 20 plus hours instead of the lies spoken from other headphones like Sony's 30 hour claim, what you end up with is the best overall package for a headphone period.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had Bose QC 35 1 and 2 Sony xm3 and 4 and the AirPods max. And for me by far these are the all around winner. The features and the sound and NC are top of the line for me. Where bose qc line were comfortable and sounded ok the sound got very tight and flat at louder volumes and very bright. The acoustics and sound is much better on the 700s in my opinion also the noise cancelling. And you have hear through which works pretty well, not as natural as the AirPods max. And yes the AirPods max sound a bit better, more crystal just like the AirPods Pro. So if you want that sound save the money buy the pros. The weight of the AirPods max and unnecessary pressure at the tops of the cups makes them almost useless as travel headphones. Good noise canceling and sound though. The 700s have the best all around sound I think. And you have an app with an equalizer. And no you don't have to download the app but you lose alot of the nice functions of the headphones and no you don't have to have an account. You can bypass that. Now you say how about the Sonys. Well the Sony xm4s have a beautiful warm sound with sometimes a bit overwhelming bass. But you have an app with an equalizer I found with the equalizer off was the best sound. And yes able to play hi res codecs but not while connected to two items then it reverts to acc I believe. The nc is top notch the hear through not so much. It works but muffled. The biggest problem I encountered was the xm4s frames creaked so badly, on two pairs mind you that you had to have the nc on just to listen. I don't like to listen with the nc on all the time it affects the sound of the music a bit. Any movement causes creaking to come from the frames and is magnified in the cups unless the nc is on. They narrowed the headband on the xm4s also which can cause pressure. The build of the 700s is good not as good as the maxes but waaayy lighter. The 700s look pretty good too I think although I do miss the clicks of the headbands and build of the qc line. They had the best build and comfort of all of them but the 700s are more comfortable than the Sonys and the maxes.

Very nice headphones...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve done quite a bit of research before to invest in high cost headphones; something important for me, is the noise cancelling feature for calls at noisy environments like cafes and office; I have focused in the Sony WH1000XM4 and the Bose 700; to be honest more reviews said that sound quality is on the Sony’s side, however when you check reviews you can see then most talk about the high fidelity of Bose, and for Sony’s it is about some extra features like wearing detection, talk detection and extra bass. But there is not doubt, Bose 700 is the best noise cancelling in the market so far, Sony is a great option, in this moment has a great price. I test personally both headphones and I choose Bose. In my opinion the sound quality and bass balance are great, I don’t enjoy the high presence of bass effect of Sony, but is my opinion. Talking about comfort, I had used the Bose for more than 5 hours continuously, they are really comfortable. So far the best headphone that I ever used.

Good Product,not worth almost half a grand($433)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first owned the Sony xm3 for 7 months before the headband cracked and I used my warranty two weeks ago. I exchanged them for some 700’s yesterday because of the build of the Bose. I don’t think the headband will break from a slight fall. I didn’t want to purchase the 80 dollar warranty again so I payed the extra 55 for the Bose because I felt they had and now know they do have better build quality hands down. I don’t like that they stick out on the sides more than the xm3s. The sound on the Bose is not as good as Sony’s xm3s. It’s not bad but noticeably not as good. The phone call quality is superb on the Bose 700’s. I work in a loud Manufacuring environment and spend a lot of the time on the phone so this is a big plus to me. It blocks out the outside noise better. The Sony’s only lacked in the wind mainly but did pick up more outside noise and bring them into phone calls than Bose. The noise cancelling on the Bose is better than the song xm3 as well. The Sony is great but the new Bose 700 just blows you a way with how good it is when it comes to noise cancelling. For example on a scale the Bose rates a 11 the Sony is a 8 in Boise cancelling. The Sony actually blows Bose out of the water when it comes to battery life and charging. It’s too big of a difference. Bose should do better. The Bose app needs work. I can’t hardly even connect my headphones to it. Haven’t connected but 2 times. It keeps saying failure to connect? Hope this gets updated. Was giving me a headache last night. Overall Assessment of the Bose 700’s? I believe they are hand down overall the best noise cancelling headphones on the market now. They lead in noise cancelling, phone calls and build quality. The sound is not bad just not as dynamic as the Sony’s and sorta lacks bass. If I get a good 4 years out of them I will be satisfied. Lot of other cheaper options. Buy what makes you happy, just don’t be stupid. If the things that make the price $400 suit you buy them.

Another quality product from Bose.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a pair of AirPods Pro last year, but I was never completely happy. I didn't like the fact that I had to shove them in my ears to get good sound quality and noise cancellation. I was thrilled that Apple was coming out with over the ear headphones but the price of them was too much for my tastes. I already had a Soundtouch 300 sound bar that I am quite pleased with after 5 years of heavy use. Keeping in mind that I haven't tried a pair of modern headphones, I will give my thoughts on the Bose headphones. First, the noise cancellation (NC) is great. I can still hear muffled sounds even with NC on 10, but nothing to distract me in my noisy household (4.5/5). Second the comfort is awesome, with the right weight (5/5). Sound quality is good, but you must use the Bose Music App to customize (4.5/5). There is a button on the left that can turn off your music so that you can talk to others such as the wife. It also has touch controls to fast forward, answer calls, etc. It can also connect to 2 devices at once. I'm not too sold that this feature really works fantastic however. I would give the button controls a 3/5 and the multi device connection a 3/5 as well. At least I know when a call is coming through when watching a movie. Once my device wouldn't shut off and I had to look up how to turn off the device by holding the right power button while connecting the USB cable from the computer. Something like a hard reboot shouldn't be so complicated for a premium device such as this. The battery life seems quite acceptable for my uses, but I wish it would charge faster (4.5/5). Some people have talked about the case, but I don't mind it. You do have to flip the phones horizontal and shrink to smallest size, but it isn't hard. At least I know they are protected (4/5). Overall, I am happy with my purchase. Bose always delivers quality products. The most important aspects like sound quality, NC, comfort, and battery life are all exceptional. I understand that there is always room for improvement and I cannot wait to see the next generation of headphones that Bose delivers down the road. Buy these now and know that Bose will support them for years to come! My Soundtouch still gets updates over 5 years later!

Best headphones I've ever used
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from a pair of QC25's. Considered several others including the Jabra 85 and the Sony XM4's. Sound quality and noise cancellation are fantastic on the Bose (and the Sony's also!) but microphone quality is very important to me for two reasons: ambient mode and phone calls. I don't like the feeling of being totally isolated when I'm moving around or expecting to need to pay attention to my surroundings. The excellent ambient mode on the Bose is what sold me. With no music playing it's pretty close to not even having headphones on. Phone calls are also a reason I considered the Jabra, but the Bose are the perfect mix of great microphones and sound quality. The set itself is also well made and attractive. Looks modern. You WILL get asked about them when people see them. Two negatives: I'm not in love with the sliding mechanism for adjusting size. I feel this is a downgrade from the clicky adjustments we are all accustomed to. Makes it hard to get it just right. But it seems well constructed and solid and they are very comfortable so I can forgive this. Second, the app SUCKS. I mean it's terrible. Getting it to connect to the very product it is designed for is a chore. However, it's not necessary to connect to the app to use the headphones. I usually only ever open to app to check for firmware updates or to adjust my EQ. So despite it being a terrible software experience I still recommend the headphones because the combination of features and quality is unbeaten. A good alternative is the Sony XM4s but they don't have as good a microphone array for phone calls. The Jabras also have excellent mics but the sound quality wasn't on par with Sony and Bose to my ear. If you're on the market for quality sounding noise cancelling headphones that are great on a phone call, these are the ones.

Second Review - Feeling Goood about this purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright, I previously left a review where I was pretty critical of these headphones. While I still cannot believe that on a $400 pair of headphones the microphone does not work while connected via Aux......these headphones are really great. While I cannot let the aux thing go, I have released myself of the intense buyers remorse I felt and now am pleased with my purchase. I work remotely and these headphones link to two devices (cannot link to more than two - when connected to my work laptop I have to choose between connecting to my phone or iPad), and the transition is pretty seamless. I can run my dishwasher or do laundry while working in my 1BR apt, and no one else can hear the noise. I actually can’t even hear the noise due to the noise cancelling. These are great for anyone WFH right now as they do a fantastic job of isolating your voice on conference calls. I do also own AirPods and I typically wear them for walking around the city as they are just lighter, allow for face masks to be put over ears without removing headphones, etc. but I think I may start using these instead because the voice pickup is just so much nicer and I don’t have to raise my voice to be heard on the other end of a call.

||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the comfort on my head. My wife wears a different brand. I tried hers for a couple of songs but gave those back to her. I will stick with my Bose 700's. I also like when you turn on the headphone, it tells you how much battery life remains before you need to charge the unit. I am using my 2nd pair of ear pads. Easy to purchase and change. I left this one in the rain once. went out the next morning and discovered it outside. Took it in and used a light air compressor to take off the internal water droplets. It is still sounding great. Late at night I connect it to my TV to have it quiet while everyone is trying to sleep. Easy to connect. I bought another 700 just in case I forget to charge or really break my first one. I think it is a good deal.

True sound w/superior noise cancelling
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In full disclosure, I am a Bose fan. I have been for years. I believe that sound quality is such a subjective topic, that it's hard to quantify which headphones are better than others. You may like a completely different sound profile than I do. What makes some headphones SOUND better is normally some sort of effect or enhancement to the original recording. I don't feel that Bose does this. I have always found Bose headphones to be authentic, simple and true to the original source material. You get amazing technology and perfect sound. These NC 700s are awesome! They are extremely comfortable and very contemporary with the new headband. I love the different levels of noise cancelling that are available for different situations. I tend to keep it at the highest level, but every now and then I like to hear my music while surrounded by the outside world (the ear cups themselves provide decent noise cancelling). I have used the headphones for a few phone calls and find the audio to be very clear. Same thing with the Alexa feature. I don't really use it, but it's worked well when called upon. The only drawback when buying Bose, is the price. It is consistently higher than most "day to day" headphone brands. HOWEVER, I feel that Bose headphones are high-end audiophile equipment, trying to stay in the mainstream, and are actually priced very competitively in that market. If you are looking for a new pair of high end headphones, check these out...you won't be disappointed!

Bose delivers
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comfortable! Long lasting battery! Excellent noise cancelling! Quality sound! Easy to use! Only annoying part is when it is first turned on and it goes through its progression of stating the devices that it's connected to. I don't need to know that because I will know it's not connected to the device of choice if I'm not getting sound. Also, maybe a bit on the pricey side.

Excellent
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bose - Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 Included- 20" USB-C to USB-A charging cable, 42' audio only cable, noise cancelling headphones, owner manual, and protective case. I have owned a few pairs of Bose headphones, but these are my first noice cancelling headphones. I was so excited for these, knowing what Bose offers. Packaging- the box that the headphones came in had a seal on both sides that are supposed to easily tear so the box will open. However, one of the sides didn't work so well and it took a chunk of box out of it. It's not a huge deal, but obviously I would have liked the box to not look janky. Inside, is a nice slim case that zips open and closed with a cloth interior. It holds the headphones and the cables neatly. It's great for storage and travel. That way they won't get damaged or dusty. Design- the design is sleek and attractive. I like that they are not gigantic and bulky, which noice cancelling headphones can be. The headband is not wide, only 1" at it's widest point. The size adjusts by sliding the ear cups up and down the headband instead of have another joint to extend or contract. The ear cups don't fold, they turn or pivot flat. It keeps the integrity of the headband better this way. The ear cups and the headband are very comfortable for shorter periods of time. I don't think I'd want to wear any pair all day long. I understand nowadays every product has an app to go with it. I also am slightly annoyed that it's required instead of an optional feature. You will have to download the free Bose Music app to proceed. You can customize a name or use a preset option for your headphones. It was easy to pair them to my phones. The app will display your battery life and what song you are playing. The app will not let you customize the sounds on the app. That is something that needs to be added. I expect that from this product and brand. I also wish Bose would consolidate their music apps. I have to have a separate app for their soundbars that I own. Controls- Everything is by touch with taps or swipes or a simple touch of a button. It take a little bit of time getting used to but probably will require more If you are left handed since the controls are on the right cup only. I don't use Alexa or Siri too often but I find that Alexa understands me better. Sound- I think the sound quality is excellent. I am not disappointed in the 700's at all. I am not a music snob though. I mainly listen to top 40 and it's great for me. The noise cancelling works great too. I love that there are different levels - 0-10. You can also make 3 different favorite settings if you have certain specific needs or situations. Anything to tailor it to your experience is great. I'm so glad I have these. I do recommend these if you like Bose, need a wireless noise canceling pair and can afford them.

Quality sound and functionality
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I boiled my choices down to the Sony WH-1000XM3 and the Bose NC 700. Thanks to the Best Buy holiday return policy, i tried them both out for a few weeks. I ultimately settled on the Bose. Great sound. Clear and crisp. Less "bassy" than the Sony's. I prefer the crisper sound. Great looking and excellent noise cancelling. What keeps me from giving them 5 stars are the following: 1) Price. Bose are $350. Sony was $278 during the holidays. That is a pretty healthy gap for nearly equal performance. 2) Comfort. While the ear cups are extremely comfortable, the headband can be a little painful after a couple hours of use. The functionality is easy. On/off button. Access to Personal Assistant button. Noise Cancelling level button. Simple volume and music track swipe. Double tap to pause playback. Charging time could be better, but 20 hours when put into practical use is plenty for me. I love that it easily pairs to multiple devices, and seamlessly transitions between those devices. Also love the clarity of calls. I tested this (on the listening end) with both. The reception of the call is much clearer with background muted out with the Bose than with Sony. Bottom line... the only real downside for me is the comfort of the headband. Otherwise, I am very satisfied.

Best 2019 Purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very happy with this product, and have recommended it to many of my friends. Pros: Perfect audio quality. Will satisfy audiophiles. Bluetooth connectivity is masterfully done. Seamless switching between devices. Gestures and buttons are responsive and intuitive. 20 hour battery life. Actual results. Noise-cancellation is life-changing. I can concentrate at the task at hand, and also feel relaxed without incessant background noise pollution. Works better than expected on airplanes. Phone calls while using the headphones is great. BUT, it takes mental effort to not talk like one normally would in order to be heard over background noise, haha. Build quality is what you would expect for a $400 product. Comfort is out of this world. I have used -at length- $350 Sennheiser gaming headsets. I used to consider my Sennheiser's comfortable. Ten hours of use from the NC700's is not uncomfortable. Mobile app is great. Customization of noise-cancellation levels is pretty cool. USB-C. Nuff said. Cons: Nothing worth noting besides Bose needs to drop the 2.5mm jack and replace it with the 3.5mm. Best Buy doesn't even stock cables or adapters that include 2.5mm in any manner...so yeah. If you're on the fence - buy them. I had been wanting Bose headphones for about 6 years. This is the right time to buy. They don't really ever go on sale.
I would recommend this to a friend
