Posted .Hi Tony, and thank you for sharing your thoughts on our Noise-Masking Sleepbuds.
The Sleepbud tracks are split into noises designed for masking, and those for relaxation - we would recommend that you try the tracks available to find one that you're happy with! We would also recommend that you try all the sizes of eartips for each ear, as the better the fit, the better the seal created. The better the seal, the more noise this will mask out!
We hope this helps!

Earbuds will not charge
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reviews on other websites indicate users consistently run into difficulties charging the earbuds. Unfortunately, my experience has been the same. The earbuds are placed in the charging case and the lights indicate they are charging. In the evening, when the earbuds are taken out to be used, there is often no charge or very little charge. Extremely disappointing for $250 earbuds!

Posted .Thank you for taking the time to share your review of our Sleepbuds.
We're sorry to hear of the charging issues you've had and would love to steer you in the right direction!
In this instance, we would advise performing a case reset by inserting a paperclip, pin, or similar object into the hole on the back of the case until a click is heard.
When this click is heard, remove the object, and attempt to charge the buds once more for 20 minutes. Then, connect to these and check the charge level to confirm that these are charging correctly.
Failing that, we would advise connecting the charging case to a computer or laptop, and going to our BTU updater website, and updating the charging case, before repeating the above step.
If you are still having issues with the power for these, we would advise getting in touch with Bose support in your local region to assist further.
Have a great day!

Posted .Hi Snet,
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Noise-Masking sleepbuds. We are sorry that they didn't live up to your expectations. Bose noise-masking sleepbuds were engineered specifically to solve the problem of unwanted noise in the bedroom. In order to achieve a form factor small enough to be comfortable for sleeping AND fit a battery that can support sound playback for an entire night, we made the conscious design decision to not stream audio constantly throughout the night. Instead, we store the sound files on each sleepbud and play them back locally, dramatically extending the audio playback time achievable in our breakthrough form factor.

Get a good night's sleep on the road.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently I've had the opportunity to test the latest product from Bose, the Bose Sleepbuds. I was very interested in having an opportunity to try this product as 1 of the big challenges I experience on the road, is the ability to sleep in unfamiliar locations. No doubt many of you have experienced the same thing, trying to get to sleep in a hotel room with all types of other ambient noise interfering with your ability to fall asleep. The idea behind the buds is not to eliminate sound 100%. It is important to note that these are not actually noise-canceling earbuds, what they do is replace distracting ambient noise with another that is more peaceful and relaxing. As one of my favorite TV actores say, "I replaced your reality and substitute it with my own". Sort of the idea here. While the earbuds will reduce the overall noise, what is more, important it will replace it with 1 of many selections that are more relaxing. as for myself, I preferred the soundtrack identified as CAMPFIRE. Think about lying down next to a campfire literally and as the fire crackles in the background that is essentially what I would hear. This would be the sound that substituted the outside noise of people passing in the hall or other distracting behavior and instead replace with a very peaceful relaxing sound of a campfire. There are a number of other sounds for you to pick. they include such selections as Tranquility, Russell, Warm Static, Downstream, Circulate etc. Once you identify the sound that is most consistent with your mood, then you merely have to pick how long you want this to continue. Fortunately, the application that comes with the buds allows you to be selective in the time that the buds are on. So anywhere from 30 minutes, or an entire night is available to you as part of the selection process. You can also set the volume that is most relaxing and appropriate for the circumstances. I personally found that I set the bugs for about 30 minutes, just enough time for me to fall asleep. One feature that I found sort of interesting was the ability to also set an alarm. So if you do fall asleep of the buds in your ear overnight at a predetermined time you will get an alarm waking you back up. A nice feature to finish the cycle. So 1 of the key questions I have when I decided to try things, is how comfortable could these possibly be? I mean think about it, you're going to stick a bud in your ear overnight in my prior experience with any type of earbuds is never that positive. I can assure you when I have tried to use such things as earbuds for music design this was not an option. I was pleasantly surprised to find just how comfortable these actually are. Make sure you pick the right size for your ear, the unit does come with 3 different sizes so you should be able to find one that meets your needs without a problem. I was able to use the unit right out of the box, with the midsize earbuds. They are very easy to apply and surprisingly comfortable. Because they are so small and slim once properly installed you barely notice them there. Overall, I would recommend these to anyone who has trouble sleeping due to outside noises that are distracting. If you're already in a quiet environment with very little ambient noise it did not make much difference. However, when you are in a situation with a lot of distracting noise this does allow you the opportunity to replace it with something that is consistent, familiar and certainly more relaxing. My overall experience is been positive it would not have any problem making the recommendation for those that have trouble sleeping on the road.

Killing expectations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this when I couldn't sleep in a train ride due to snoring of fellow passenger. I tried this at home and learnt that its passive noise cancelling is way worse than ear plugs/cotton. I am not buying into listening to some crap while sleeping, Usually we need noise cancelling in plane to avoid jet noise. Apparently there is one such noise masking sound. Ridiculous that Bose is coming with lousy products and wasting time and money. Hate to buy and return.

Great...after SW issues corrected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.AFTER update to latest firmware version via laptop to correct right pod connection problem: Excellent fit, comfort and function. With first set, the right pod would never connect; I tried all suggestions from guide, could not find Bose support phone number until used the chat and asked for it (8OO.9O5.1273). Rep said I had tried everything so set needed to be replaced, I chose to exchange at Best Buy vs awaiting a shipment Bose rep offered. I verified 2nd set connected to phone app before leaving store (after charging at the service desk as pod and case batteries were completely dead...ridiculous). Second set worked fine when I went to bed, but in middle of night one pod lost connection and had to be put back in case to reconnect (inconvenient and cumbersome half asleep and in dark in middle of night). When I awoke regular am, found that one pod had lost connection again, but now would not reconnect...ridiculous. I called support again and was guided to download latest firmware (which required laptop connection and 20 minutes). The set has now worked properly for 2 nights, but I expected (and would have preferred) they sent me a replacement from the latest batch (as I was offered the first time I called in). I am a light sleeper and side sleeper, but do find these to be extremely comfortable with no pressure from pillow or inner or outer ear discomfort. Very good sound quality, The actual device (out of sized adapters) is tiny and light, so I can see why no space for song storage (I don’t need, but would prefer more sleep sound choices). Although the sound level does seem very low when trying out, the first night I went to sleep at about 70% volume, but awoke around 4am and had to reduce volume to 30-40% as in dead quite of night was too loud and keeping me awake. My wife snores in varying volumes and consistencies, so is a challenge to find volume that will “drown out” most external sounds, yet not be too loud itself. I like “Cascade” best now. Regardless, I have tried all in-ear sound control methods and these are the most comfortable and work the best. The most effective (and cheapest) sound/noise blockage is Mack’s silicone/wax ear plugs, but I find uncomfortable and awkward. Although these sleepbuds will not completely cover loud snoring, they work Much better than the highest rated foam plugs or anything else I’ve tried, plus are more comfortable and don’t lose their seal or fall out. They do help tremendously to “cover” and camouflage enough that I can get very much needed continuous sleep, therefore I plan to keep them. I gave 4 star back because of 2 bad experiences (were less than 1 Star), difficultly getting a live rep, and am not confident of quality and longevity after the initial quality problems, which was ridiculous for $250 Bose product, especially after finding from others reviews and reps comments that is a known issue.

Great Idea But Doesn't Quite Work
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These earbuds will work as sleep aids for some - perhaps many - people. But for those for whom they don't work, it'll be an expensive misstep. First, the Bose Sleepbuds are really gorgeous. They exude quality. The case exudes quality. The appearance and feel of these little guys is first rate. Ear fit is good, thanks to three sizes of options. They are comfortable and remain in the ear pretty well, regardless of position. And they are light. You pair the Sleepbuds with the Bose Sleep App in order to select sounds to sleep by. Your ambient sound options include: *Rustle: Wind kicking up leaves. *Cascade: A cascading waterfall. *Shower: Gentle rain falling on leaves. *Circulate: A fan with an electrical undertone, like an air conditioner. *Altitude: Airplane cabin ambient noise. *Swell: Rolling and crashing waves. *Campfire: Crackling fire and softly chirping crickets. *Warm static: Broadband noise with high frequency content removed (also known as “brown” noise). *Downstream: A gentle stream. *Tranquility: A drone-like melody that some might also refer to as a spa-like sound. Bose relies on noise masking rather than noise-canceling technology. While noise masking will work in many situations, it will not work in others. If they had included active noise canceling as an option with the buds, these little guys would be awesome. Unfortunately, they did not. I am a middle-aged male. Unfortunately, I snore. My wife would appreciate it if I did not snore. I had hoped the Bose Sleepbuds would provide a comfortable solution. They did not. If you crank the ambient sounds up to full blast and can sleep with that volume in your ear, then good for you. But it was too loud for my wife to sleep, and she still heard my snoring over the sound, anyway. Frankly, she gets a much better night sleep with old-fashioned foam earplugs. The other complaint you'll see people raise is that these are wireless earbuds, but they don't play music - just ambient sounds. Again, if they had active noise canceling tech and worked well enough, I wouldn't mind that. Part of the issue is that they want to be safe to wear overnight, so they rely on low-frequency connections that might not be ideal for music. I'd think they could have given the Sleepbuds a dual power receiver, but maybe that's too much to hope in this first-gen version. And it might have made them more bulky. Anyway, I think the Sleepbuds are a terrific idea, and they are a drop-dead gorgeous product. But the lack of active noise canceling renders them useless in our household. And that's really unfortunate.

Posted .Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your Noise-masking sleepbuds, Mike. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the build quality and design of the sleepbuds, along with the comfort of the ear-tips. We're sorry to hear that the noise-masking performance didn't fully meet you and your wife's expectations. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, as it helps our engineers improve this model, as well as future products. In order to achieve a form factor small enough to be comfortable for sleeping, we made the conscious decision to not stream audio to the sleepbuds. Instead, we store the sound files on each of the sleepbuds and play them back locally, dramatically extending battery life. Thank you again, and have a great day! Jesse - Bose Support

Posted .Hello BestBuyer,
Thank you for providing your review of the Noise-masking sleepbuds. The sleepbuds are designed to mask unwanted noise and disturbances while you sleep. Also, creating an in-ear device that is for comfortable was of utmost importance as the vast majority of the people sleep with their ear pressing into a pillow. We are sorry to hear that they did not quite live up to your expectations.
We understand that you have decided to return them and hope that in the further you will give us another chance. If you have any questions, please contact our Bose technical support team by clicking here: https://bose.life/1RwxI8E

Difficult to set up, no noise cancelling.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, it's not noise cancelling but noise "gating" that you really can't use them during flight, and the white noise is really disturbing during sleep when you're in the hotels. Secondly, like all other reviewers mentioned, you can only control everything from the mobile App, not directly on the earbud. It's just a pair of expensive earbuds that do similar jobs like other (medical) earplugs.

Posted .Hello DH310, thank you for reviewing the Noise-masking Sleepbuds. I'm truly sorry to hear that you have been disappointed with your experience using the Sleepbuds. You are correct, the Sleepbuds are not noise cancelling. They use the StayHear+ Sleep tips to mask surrounding noise, alongside soothing sounds to complete the experience. In order to achieve the small design of the Sleepbuds, which makes them more comfortable, physical controls where not implemented. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions. Have a great day! Charlotte - Bose Customer Support
