Supreme Build Quality, Comfortable Fit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those looking for a next level sleep aid, the Bose Sleepbuds fit the bill in spades. Upon opening the package, the signature Bose build quality is represented here throughout. The charging case has a premium feel, reinforced by the solid sliding top mechanism. The charging indicators are sleek and incredibly eye-appealing, and the magnets that help guide the Sleepbuds back into the case and hold them in place add to the overall impressively premium feel of this package. The Sleepbuds also have a tangible premium build quality backed by a surprising amount of comfort. Obviously, comfort level makes or breaks a product of this type; if these weren't comfortable, they wouldn't be wearable for sleeping. Bose has done a great job here as these are the only buds I've ever worn that were absolutely comfortable, even while side sleeping. The accommodate the most amount of people, they've included a few different sets of ear cups and holders for those whose ears don't fit the standard cups. There are two areas of disappointment with the Sleepbuds that I should mention. One is that these don't have true noise cancelling functionality, so loud sounds may still creep in (though the passive sound cancelling these provide is very good and will suffice in all but the most extreme cases). The second is that the sounds you can pump into these buds are limited to whatever Bose makes available in their app, specifically designed for these buds. That means you can't pipe music into these, which is inherently odd for what amount to as a super comfortable pair of ear buds. I suspect both of these compromises were done for the sake of battery life, which is not coincidentally excellent (Bose states 16 hours, which I haven't tested, but they last an entire night for sure). Top notch build quality and a surprisingly comfortable fit combine to make this package somehow feel worth the price Bose is asking for this set for those in need of something to help them get to sleep.

Not worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it to help ease the noise of my snoring partner. The masking couldn’t help with the loud snores and for $250 it was less effective than normal ear plugs. So I had to return after trying it out for two nights.

Worked good for a few months then stopped
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One ear bud stopped working after 6 months. We contacted the manufacturer and it appears to be a known issue. They refunded us Partial of the money and we had to send back the bad ear buds to them. I would not buy them again.

Loved them till they stopped charging
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a life saver. I was able to sleep through the night next to a snoring partner. One day they would charge completely. The next 50%. I finally had to return them. Half a night is just not good enough.

Works well and comfortable, if a good fit.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As always with Bose products these were packaged very well. The Sleep Buds come in a nice charging case, the USB charging block is bigger than most, you get a nice cable and even a soft pouch to transport everything in so you don't scratch up the case. My wife tried them out first, she's pretty petite with fairly small ears so we tried the small ear pieces. They seemed to fit well. We went through the setup in the app and then set it up to charge to be ready at bedtime Apparently you have a limited amount of time from the time you take them out of the charging case until you start the app and sync your phone to them. After she fiddled with getting them in her ear right they wouldn't connect, so she had to put them back in the case and try again. Second time she got them sync'd, set it up for the waterfall sounds and off to sleep. She woke up in the middle of the night and removed them, letting me know in the morning her ears were a little sore. She said while they were in she didn't notice my breathing as much, but even with the small earpieces they may have been too big for her ears. So next I tried them out, starting with the medium earpieces. I got a pretty good seal and everything seemed comfortable, but again missed the sync with the phone and had to put them back in the case for a second then try again. Got them sync'd the second time, set the sounds to rain and off to sleep. My wife usually likes to fall asleep with the TV on with the volume down low and these did a great job of blocking out the sound. I did notice my own breathing and could actually hear/feel my heartbeat with these in. I sleep on my side, switching sides often through the night and had no problem with these against my pillow. Woke up in the morning with no issues. I'm happy with the way these block the sounds, the app is well laid out and easy to use with a nice selection of soundscapes to choose from and all the parts and pieces seem very well made. The only reason for the 4-star rating is the sync process.

Nice but not perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Firstly these are not headphones. I see so many people complaining that these won't play music and whatnot but that isn't how they are marketed or what their function is. You will not find a pair of headphones that are wireless, allow side sleeping, don't require a phone once set up and that last 16 hours on one charge. I also have a pair of MAXROCK Sleep Earplugs for listening to my tablet while in bed but when I go to sleep I switch to my Bose Sleep buds. I've tried about 5 different sleep headphones. I found the Maxrock to fit me the most comfortably while trying to sleep (they were only about $12) but they have a chord attached that becomes a major pain when I turn from side to side. Here's what I like: -They stay in all night (at least for me they have stayed in fine all night long) -I can side sleep without much discomfort -They work well enough to block out my wife's snoring -The battery lasts all night long and they are easy to recharge -They don't require my phone once I set them up -They automatically play the sound when you take them off the charger (very convenient) Here's what I wish they would add: I have very bad tinnitus that doesn't block out unless I play white noise at about 7500 hz-8000 hz. I can still hear my tinnitus very loud with these because none of the sounds are focused at this frequency range. Usually I can listen to Youtube video's or Mp3 files that will play white noise at this frequency but I can't with these. For my tinnitus I must use my MAXROCK Sleep Earplugs which aren't as comfortable but are better than nothing. It seems to me that it would be pretty easy for Bose to add to their optional downloads via the app., a selection of various white noise frequency ranges. This would make these much more valuable for the millions of people with tinnitus. It's a minor fix that wouldn't even require any hardware modifications. -Replaceable batteries. I know that silver zinc batteries can't be recharged as many times as lithium. The advantage is the size and weight over lithium. It would be nice if these were designed in a way to make the battery replaceable so that I don't feel like I'm buying something that will only last 1 year. If these only last as long as the battery lasts, I'm paying around $1 per day to use these. This seems pretty steep considering they don't even mask my tinnitus. If they last less than 2 years, I likely won't buy them again. If they come out with a new model with replaceable batteries and had more downloadable audio options (with tinnitus masking sounds), I would pay up to $100 more for another pair. I would have given 5 stars if the battery were replaceable and they offered downloadable sounds to mask my tinnitus.

Does the job.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband has sleep apnea and therefore snores loudly, even through his mask. I purchased these in hopes of downing everything out so i could get a good nights sleep without the loud noises. For all intents and purposes they do work. The sounds choices are very pleasant and comforting to a certain extent. Some I could not use as they would keep me awake more than put me to sleep, but the others were very good at putting me to sleep very quickly. My only concern with the sound portion of these was that with some of the ones I actually liked, I had to turn up the volume to max to mask the outside noises, which in itself can be very distracting and keep me awake. AS for all other aspects of these sleep buds, they were great. They fit well right out of the box, and even came with other sizes for people with larger ears. They came pre-charged, which is great for out of the box use, and charge super fast in the included case. The case is also a quick charge itself. Setup was super easy and the app was very intuitive and user friendly.

Needs improvement

Posted .Hi there.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your Noise-masking sleepbuds. We're sorry to hear that the noise-masking performance didn't meet your needs.
We would first recommend trying some other soothing sounds. Using the Bose Sleep app, you can delete some of the existing sounds off of your sleepbuds, and then add new sounds that you might prefer. Please ensure that your Sleepbuds and the Bose Sleep app are both updated to the latest software version. Then choose the Settings icon (gear icon) > Sound Library to select new sounds.
For further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Sleepbuds specialists at 1-800-905-1273, Mon. – Fri., 9 AM – 9 PM ET and Sat., 9 AM - 7 PM ET. Thank you, and have a great day!

||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While a novel idea, in reality they are minimally effective. Great If You Have A Need For Them
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think BOSE is trying to create a new market for sleeping buds. I have yet to see these through other brands. If you have a need for these and need help sleeping, these definitely do the job. The buds are stored and charge in a carrying case which is very practical and looks good sitting on a night stand. A charging cord and travel bag is also included which I do appreciate. The buds do a great job of cancelling out noise. Although these do not stream music, they do play soft ambient music to get you to relax and/or fall asleep. They are very small and you are able to sleep with them in without any discomfort. The app is where the buds are controlled, it is very easy to use and allows you to adjust the sound, other settings, etc. If there is anything I do not like about the buds, it would be that they do not stream music and that sometimes they can be a little slow to connect. Regardless, I do think these are worth the purchase.

Worth it if you need them, but need improvement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a huge fan of Bose, and I have tremendous trouble sleeping out night, especially when there are distracting noises (like my girlfriend's Darth Vader breathing). So I was excited to try these out. The Good: They work. Some of the professional reviewers who tried them gave the buds poor reviews because having something in your ears while you sleep is always going to be annoying, but I think this warrants perspective. If you don't need noise-dampening buds to help you sleep, then of course these are going to hinder, rather than help, your ability to sleep. But if you're like me, and you have trouble sleeping because you fixate on distracting, repetitive noises, these can be a life-saver. I used to go sleep on the couch every other night, and I no longer do that. I sleep much better. They work, and don't let reviewers who don't need them in the first place scare you away from them. The Bad: Even though they work, there are some things that Bose could work on to try to improve the next generation of the product: (1) Side-sleep - these buds are not great for side-sleeping, despite the claim to the contrary. It's not that they are uncomfortable when you lay on your side, but the speaker on the bud (I don't know the science behind this, so let's just assume it's dark magic) acts like a microphone, sending the subtle friction of the pillowcase fabric directly, and magnified, into your ear drum. This ends up creating the very kinds of distracting noises you're trying to keep out. I pretty much have to sleep on my back. (2) The charging case sucks - It looks sleek, but it is really annoying. It uses magnets to pull the buds onto the connectors, but I find myself constantly having the fidget with the bud to get it to start charging. Even worse, some nights I come to bed to find the buds completely drained. This is partly because their is no on/off switch (they turn on automatically when they aren't charging), so there is enough charge to get you through two nights, but if they aren't charging, they're draining. My guess is that when the lid snaps closed, the buds sometimes get nocked a nanometer off the connectors and end up turned on and uncharged all day long. The indicator lights showing that they're connected are only visible when the lid is open, so if closing the lid knocks them off the charger, you have no way of knowing. As a result, I've had nights where I haven't been able to use them - and if you're dependent on them for a good night's sleep, that's a big problem. (3) White noise is repetitive - I get the constraints of their size and the ability to load large files onto them, but hopefully they'll be able to improve on this. White noise machines that have a detectable pattern can be more distracting than the noises they're trying to keep out, and that's the case for some of Bose's sounds. For example, the Marina track has seagulls that caw in a regular pattern. If you're like me, your mind can't help but anticipate the patterns, and it ends up keeping you from sleep. Luckily, some of the sounds are harder to detect patterns in, like the rain-shower track, but the repetitive patterns of some of the tracks severely limits the usable tracks and it's nice not listening to the same sounds every night. All that said, these buds - despite their annoying aspects - have helped me to sleep better and more regularly, and it's hard to put a price on that. They're only going to be useful for people who are kept awake by distracting noises, so ignore the critical reviews from people who don't have that perspective. They aren't for everybody.

Posted .Hello, and thank you for taking the time tor review our Noise-Masking Sleepbuds.
We're sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the comfort and functionality of these. If you're having issues with the fit, we would recommend that you try the 3 sizes of StayHear+ eartips for each ear, to find a fit that is comfortable and creates a better seal, masking sounds more effectively.
The buds themselves can be stopped or started from the app, meaning that these don't need to play audio if you don't want these to.
If you're still having issues, please reach out to Bose Support in your country/region for assistance!

Very good!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these for my wife because she can hear a fly f art in the next county when it comes time for her to sleep. Overall, these have been a godsend. She is definitely sleeping much better and these things mask about 75% of the ambient sound in the room. She says if you turn the sound feature up, after a certain point you can't hear anything but the sound you choose. Standard sounds like running water, babbling brook, etc. I do wish the earbuds were a little smaller. My wife is of pretty small stature and she has small(ish) ears. The small size piece is just a little too big for her, hence 4 stars, and that makes her ears hurt just a bit. I with there were an XS size. In general I would highly recommend these. I've tried them myself, and while I could fall asleep on an active runway, I do see how these things could come in very handy. Hope my review helps!
