Way overpriced for way underperforming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I travel every week so I purchased these for the hotel noise. The buds work ok as a white noise machine (which is all they are) but the battery in a huge case relative to other wireless earbuds will die in a couple days if you use the buds or not. And when it dies it has to be plugged in before you can activate the buds and use them even if the buds themselves are still fully charged. Very annoying to search for a cable when trying to go to sleep and at $250 bucks is just insulting. These underperform even the most basic Bluetooth headphones for battery life and connectivity. I know their function is different but your paying $200 for the Bose name on the case and what should be $50 for a very basic set of noise machines.

Would be AMAZING if could stream music

The earbuds are ridiculously light and fit perfectly. The charging case is elegant and of a reasonable size. The earbuds snap into place in the charging case through the use of magnets. All great! So why 3-stars? It would be 5 (even 6 stars) if I could stream music on these.

In order to achieve a form factor small enough to be comfortable for sleeping, we made the conscious decision to not stream audio to the sleepbuds. Instead, we store the sound files on each of the sleepbuds and play them back locally, dramatically extending battery life. Could be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a die hard Bose fan, I have everything from speakers, headphones, sound bars, etc. I bought these due to my neighbor's dog and the road traffic. I give it an average rating due to three things and more than likely will return it. 1. Limited "background" noise option 2. Can not play music 3. Very expensive for such little features.

Worked fine for a nap, but the adaptor broke Day 1

I’m going to need to return them because the adaptor plug came apart on the first day of use. Alas, Best Buy says they’re now out-of-stock.

Hesitant

I’ve been trying evething to go to sleep... from pills to myself, pillows for my wife, straps... construction earbuds, and finally this... so happy with my purchase

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Bose products, but this one is not any better than the combination of your own earbuds and white noise app, which would cost you only a couple of bucks. It comes with several sounds (i.e. shower, waves, white noise, etc.) and you could get these kinds of sounds anyway through the app store. Other than that they are just regular earbuds, nothing special. It does not have any additional noise canceling feature that you could turn on, like QC35 for example. The sounds get too annoying after some time, which actually kept me more awake, instead of helping me sleep. Very disappointed from Bose, they are better than this.

Yes, it's annoying that you have to use your phone each time to start them -- but it does the job. I am sure in the future there will be better versions and imitators -- but for now, sleep is worth $249

Just what I needed

I have some hearing loss in my left ear (i use a hearing aid). It is a little unnerving to barely be able to hear one side.

Doesn’t really work

I like Bose and I hope that they fix the problem of someone still snoring over the sounds. They are still uncomfortable to sleep in or on. Another problem they need to work on. The case and product are of the highest quality, but they miss the mark. Not by a little but by a lot.

Not All Smartphones Work With It.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I tried to download the app onto my MacBook Air, there was no app in the Apple Store to download (perhaps different with an iPad). When I tried to download from Google Play to my 2.5 y.o. Samsung Android phone, it said the app is not compatible with my phone. We got the same message on my wife's Android. So, buyer beware, if you buy this product, you may wind up having also to buy a new smartphone just to control these earbuds. You can find out if your smartphone or tablet is compatible as a controller for these earbuds by going to the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, locate the Bose Sleep app, and attempt to download. If it downloads, you are good to order the earbuds. If it says your device is not compatible with this app, you will have to get a new tablet or smartphone that IS compatible.

Your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) must support Bluetooth Low Energy (also called Bluetooth Smart) to work correctly with the Bose noise-masking sleepbuds. Apple devices with iOS 10 or later are compatible, and most devices with Android 5.0 and newer versions support Bluetooth Low Energy.

Wait to buy there is a serious design flaw

The exact same problem (right ear pod quits) has been reported on their forums and you have to go through Bose for a replacement, per Bose moderators. So far no recall. One user reported it happened again to the replacement they received from Bose. To be determined how well the return and replacement experience is with Bose...

Tonight I am unable to connect and Bose support documentation has not resolved the problem. I'll be returning them tomorrow.

Please try updating the charging case through the Bose Update site (https://btu.bose.com/). Firmware(v2.0.0.0) is available that improves how quickly the charge case detects that a Sleepbud has been inserted.

Disappointing

The only way they would be useful is if you could listen to music through them. Want to take them back but realized that Best Buys return policy is 15 days not 30 like most businesses. I've had them 19 days. So the one star rating is for the Bose sleep buds and Best Buy.

Over priced ear plug and does not work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this a week ago, after trying it for few nights, really don't like it at all, the Bluetooth connection drops while you are just about to fall asleep, and the sound it produces to mask the noise, it does get really loud after a period of using it at night, making me get up again and turning the volume down again, then we are back to trying to sleep cycle. If they can have a timer gradually lower the volume it would be really nice.

More money than they're worth

If you're going to sell a set of headphones that don't play any music, they better be flawless. I couldn't even get them synced and connected to my phone. I tried everything I could think of and that Bose suggested. They still wouldn't connect! Also, in the app, the noise masking sound selection was slim. I'm better off using wired buds and finding what I want off youtube!
