The battery doesn't last at all, it has to be connected to the charger to be able to use it

Messy product, any time you bring this thing near another device that’s also using the same WiFi, the connection goes in and out. Nightmare for trying to use it at a home gym with just 2 WiFi enabled cardio machines. Poor battery life

Not real happy with this product. Returned it for a Sonos move.

I have already returned one because it would not hold a charge. Now! This one the Alexa won’t work at all! 375$ I should not be having these issues! I guess I will have to go back to Best Buy AGAIN! Ridiculous!

I’m had really good experience with Bose in the past with headphones, speakers, sound bars, etc… So I have high expectations when it comes to their products…. This product met or exceeded all of those expectations…. I charged it up and was happy to see it charged pretty quickly (less than 3 hours). I fired it up and set it up using the Bose account and I was ready to go… I currently have an Amazon Alexa account and have several units in my home, but none of them are portable… This is where I really liked this unit… The ability to take this outside with my and set it on the pool deck, or put it by the fire pit in the evenings is a gamechanger! I love having all the music on demand, JUST like I have with my other Alexa devices, but now on the go. No more issues with Bluetooth going out of range, or spotty reception… Battery life was fine in my experience, I think it’s supposed to last 12 hours. I used it over the past few days outside in the evenings and haven’t had to change it yet, not sure how many hours I’ve used it total. Sound quality and volume has been great, I’ve only used it outdoors but I’ve noticed very quickly that its already louder and the sound quality is more clear than my old portable speaker. I don’t have a google assistant account, but it worked just fine with my Amazon Echo/Alexa account.

Love this speaker, it become my primary everyday music listening device. Setup: Had some issues with setup. Downloaded Bose music app and created myself user account but had problems for while to connect my product. Up to this very moment still had some issues with app itself but speaker works great. Quality: Amazingly crystal clear and 360 degrees sound feels nice and pleasant, being able to get same sound quality while moving around it really new experience which not many speakers or products offer. It's very loud compering to its size. Materials used in the product seem to be very good quality and build is sturdy and strong, most importantly very clean product and no bad plastic smell. Features: Being able to stream music from online services its nice feature, and amazon Alexa and Google assistant makes everything easier these days. Device being water resistant it's plus for outdoor use or when used while consuming drinks. Caring handle with soft texture reminds me of old style light lanterns and its very nice addition. Battery life: Battery life rocks, hours of music on single charge. Our household has about 5 Alexa devices and 6 portable speakers. Typically, there is a tradeoff between using Alexa and getting good sound quality. With this speaker you don't have to compromise on either the versatility or the sound quality - it has both! Not only can you setup Alexa on the speaker, but you can also setup Google, so the best of both worlds, depending on your preference. We ran into a hiccup connecting the speaker to the Bose Music app for the first time, but customer service was fantastic and called us 3 times just to make sure everything worked. Once connected, most of the preferences are setup through the app, or through the Alexa or Google app. It is nice that you can use the app like a remote to change music, volume, and other functions. In addition to using through Alexa or Google you can also connect your device directly to the speaker with Bluetooth and play music even without Internet access. Since the speaker is portable, this is great for taking outside the home. I would note that one quirk is that the speaker disconnects from your phone if you don't play music for a few minutes. This might be planned but is kind of annoying. Overall, this is a high quality speaker with lots of functionality and versatility. I would highly recommend it.

This speaker supposed to cam whit change bu the box it’s was open and they don’t give me the charger I need a charger for the speaker please

You need an app to run it, it wouldn’t turn on all the time and just too much going on with it. Wasn’t happy with the purchase.

Just work for a few months, then stop receiving the Bluetooth signals from ours cell phone, really bad quality

It is a small powerhouse about 7.5 inches tall and a slightly tapered width of about 4.7 inches. The Portable Home Speaker works with most Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capable devices. Well made, nice attractive design, relatively small, superb sound and great connectivity.

Can not connect with my macbook or any computer. After 20 days, something wrong with this speakers. And it’s not able to return

When I opened the Bose portable Bluetooth home smart speaker box the first thing that comes to mind is statuesque. The speaker stands upright in the box and is protected with a heavyweight cloth like wrap. It is always my goal to do the initial setup by reading minimal to no instructions and on this speaker I failed, although, it wasn’t due to any fault of Bose. The smart speaker uses the Bose Music app rather than the Bose Connect app used for my Soundlink Revolve. Once I got that straightened out, setup was quick and easy. Connecting to Bluetooth only is just as simple. Setting the speaker up with Alexa was fast and easy. Switching to Google seemed to take a bit longer but I believe that’s due to the way google sets up devices. The Bose app allows you to switch between voice assistants but does not retain any settings between the two. Switching is like setting up the other service from the beginning. The feature set for both Alexa and Google is not the same as if it was an actual Echo or Google device. One of the features it does not have is the ability to make or receive phone calls from them. This is unfortunate since you cannot use the speaker as a speaker phone when connected via Bluetooth. I’ve had other devices with google that had the same issue, however, this was changed in a software update. Possibly this will change in the Bose speaker as well. Both voice assistants worked as expected and I like that you can set music presets in the app to go directly to your favorite service and stations. The sound as expected is all Bose, however on this speaker, unlike my revolve, you have the option to adjust treble and bass. The volume is more than adequate to fill my house with sound and the microphones for Alexa and Google work well even at high volumes. The volume control is handled by two buttons on the top of the speaker. I would have preferred it be a ring like is found on the Amazon Echo devices. Also, the light ring on the top works clockwise from the top to show the volume level. Its not bad, just confusing at first. Battery life is rated at 12 hours at high volume and is on par to reach that. Charging is done via USB-C plug. There is an optional charging base which at this price point should be included, especially due to the Alexa and Google Assistant tie in. Having the ability to simply lift the speaker from the base to use portably and just setting it back on the base when finished would make this an outstanding device. As far as connectivity goes, you can also directly connect the speaker to any Bluetooth device and it works with Apple Airplay as well. The speaker is IPx4 rated so it can take splashes by the pool or beach. I’m not confident though about getting it wet with the open grill. As a portable speaker I would have liked a higher rating, at least to include being dropped in the water. I know Bose can do it since the Bose Micro Soundlink works underwater just fine. There is also no line in on this unit, Bluetooth and wifi are the only connectivity options. When I comes to price, I put Bose and Apple in the same cart. A little pricy but you get what you pay for. I only gave 4 stars because I feel the charging base should have been included at this price and the app should maintain the settings when switching between voice assistants. Otherwise, if this is not important to you, add the extra star and make it 5. If you are a fan of Bose products, this speaker is for you and I would recommend it to all my friends.

Worked great for a couple of months then got a red light. Followed instructions on how to reset. Won’t reset. Will call Bose for direction.

So, I bought 2 of these and the 1st one was bad and would not stay linked to my phone or laptop and had horrible battery life (pretty sure it was a return). Returned it to Best Buy and have been very pleased with the sound and ease of use. Battery life seems to be about 8-10 hours and the Bose App provides a pretty decent level of EQ adjustment. When I move the two speakers out into the living room and connect it to the TV and sound bar it is an amazing surround sound experience. I originally bought a Bose Revolve +II had was very underwhelmed with the sound. The Portable Home Speaker is a much better choice IMHO.

Unable to keep my phone connected with the speaker… I have reset it several times and just purchased this item not long ago

Lousy sound and the App is a total nightmare, Totally lost all confidence in a product I once would go to war for. Getting help is like pulling teeth.

The speaker is great, but It should have came with a storage bag. At the high price I paid for the speaker, a storage protection bag should be available.
