The Bose portable Bluetooth speaker is extremely easy to use, and offers great sound, especially for a speaker this small. Setup is accomplished via the Bose Music app, and was clearly guided and painless using my iPhone. Alexa setup is exactly as one would expect from setting up other Alexa enabled devices. If you’re familiar with the Echo/Alexa ecosystem, it will be second nature. Once setup, the speaker remembers WiFi networks, so if you’re using it in multiple locations it automatically connects when you arrive and turn on the power. It also automatically connects to your device via Bluetooth when away from WiFi making it truly portable and very versatile. The Amazon Alexa functionality is exactly as expected. Alexa only works when connected via WiFi. It is unavailable when connected to a mobile device via Bluetooth. I had some success using Alexa by connecting to my iPhone’s mobile hotspot, but it wasn’t as reliable as when the speaker was connected to WiFi. This to me is a very minor issue, as WiFi functionality is rock solid, and when using the speaker via Bluetooth, I’m usually playing music from sources on my iPhone anyway. A charging adapter and USB-C cable are included. I have not used the speaker on battery power long enough to evaluate battery life. This is a great sounding, versatile speaker in a small package. If you like Bose sound, this is a great way to take that sound with you.

Easy to setup right out of the box. Battery was already at 70%, but I plugged it in and allowed to fully charge. Downloaded the app and finished the setup. Easily connected to my phone, to Alexa and to Spotify. Having owned Echo Dots and other bluetooth speakers, I'm used to having a quality sound from these speakers. That being said, and being this speaker is a Bose, the sound quality is the best so far. The 360 degree sound from the bottom of the speaker fills the entire room. I made the mistake of turning the volume to its highest. In a quiet room, even having the volume at 50% might be pushing it as it fills the room. The nitpicks: 1) Having to download another app for another bluetooth speaker. I have already downloaded Bose Connect for another Bose product, but this speaker works specifically with the Bose Music app now. 2) It took me a while to find the bass and treble settings on the app. There wasn't any instructions stating the bass and treble could be adjusted. I got lucky as I was looking around and found it could be adjusted under "Settings", or under "Audio". I highly recommend the Bose Portable Home Speaker. It's small, it's powerful and it's Bose quality.

I have had the Bose Portable Home Speaker for about a week and I have really been enjoying it. Like all Bose products, the speaker construction is solid and it looks great. The speaker base is weighty and very stable. The included handle makes it a breeze to move around. The speaker sounds great and is loud. The ability to get great sound out of such a compact speaker is amazing. The speaker is also wireless, and it lasts a good 12 hours, once charged. Setup of the speaker requires a download of the Bose Music app. It was easy to use the app to connect the speaker to my WiFi home network and setup Amazon Alexa on it. It can also function as a Bluetooth speaker if a WiFi network is not available. With Amazon Alexa support built-in, it functions just like the other Amazon Echo devices in my home. The speaker picks up voice commands very well and I have not had any issues with Alexa fulfilling my requests. From the app, I was also able to add Amazon Music, Pandora, and SiriusXM. You are also able to adjust bass and treble easily from the app to fine tune the sound from the speaker. Overall, it is a quality, portable speaker that sounds great and I would recommend it.

What else would you expect from Bose but a smooth perfect sound? Went to Best Buy to hear this before buying it for my son's birthday and couldn't be more pleased with such a wonderful gift! Love the size of this awesome speaker also that sounds amazing for the size.

This bose speaker is amazing. The sound is incredible and i love the strap on the top for carrying it around. Ive always bought bose and have never disappointed me. Chose Bose!

Got it as a birthday gift for my wife and she loves it!! She uses it primarily during tennis practice, when we have guests over, and out by the pool! The sound is amazing even at high volume! I highly recommend!

The sound is excellent, it is not heavy, perfect for summer days, the problem is the battery does not last long, only 4 hours

Cannot believe the spacious, clear music it produces. Tried this and it's Sonos competitior side by side, and (imho) this was the clear winner. Really enjoy the portability. May get a second one.

The sound is great and its lightweight but for a $400 speaker, the bluetooth connectivity isnt great and it doesn't hold a charge for a very long time. I originally planned on returning it but kept it for the sound quality.

I told my husband that my Alexa device wasn’t cutting it anymore for my morning jam sessions. He surprised me with this and WOW, I’m blown away! The quality of the music even at full blast is incredible! Bose never disappoints.

The sound this thing puts out is crazy. Very full and spacious. It connects easily and plays with no issues. I use google assistant and it works flawlessly. Definitely a great wireless speaker.

I bought the refurbished version of this product directly from Bose. Sound has been stellar, but otherwise a disappointing product. Battery life has been about 6-8 hrs (new ones probably don't have this problem), Alexa never really worked with it, and now, after a year, it informs me via voice that it's not charging when placed in the charging cradle. I regret buying this speaker, and you may, too.

Daughter got one for her birthday and it worked great and sounded amazing but then for no reason would lose connection a lot or sometimes would not connect at all. Could have been a bad speaker but don’t know.

Great! Purchase great sound quality. My family and I use it for outdoor gatherings.
