    Best Travel Earbuds, IMO

    I've been using the Bose Quiet Comfort for years. This is my second pair - unfortunately I lost my first set on a trip to Australia. I've used them on a few hundred thousand miles of flights, no complains, great purchase.

    Great Sound and Noise Cancelling, but

    the microphone for phone calls is terrible! Always have complaints from people I'm talking with ranging from; sound like I'm in a tunnel, wind noise, can hear background noise better than they can hear me, you sound muffled, etc. I even hold the microphone a few inches from my mouth and the results are not any better. I've talked to other people I see on my flights about their experience using for calls and hear the same complaints. I had to resort to using a $9 set of JVC earbuds when making phone calls which is a hassle to have to switch back and forth. One other issue, even thought the music sounds great, after about a year of use the bass is a bit distorted at high volumes. So, based on the very poor quality of the microphone for phone calls, I give a score of a 2. All the technology is in the noise cancelling capabilities and the microphone is basically useless. . At this price point, I would expect the quality to be equivalent between the two.

    There's no doubt that the noise cancellation on this product is good, in fact, it's great. However, what I purchased them for was a different reason, which was good sound quality. If you like bass in your music, these ain't for you. If you need great noise cancellation, and you're someone who likes treble, these might be for you, but $250... I've got Sony Earbuds, Best Buy has them for $29.99 at the time I'm posting this, and the clarity those deliver is simply astounding, hands down way better than these earbuds. If you're someone who likes a lot of bass in your earbuds, those Sony earbuds would be a good choice, not these. I was expecting them to be better with all of these reviews, but aside from the amazing noise cancellation, I was highly disappointed when it came to bass levels and clarity. You just have to try them before you buy them.

    Earbuds either fit or they don't fit. I have small ears and shallow ear canals. The Bose earbuds are BIG and constantly fall out of my ears...no matter what I do. They simply will not remain in my ears, so I can't use them on walks or in the gym. Very, very disappointing! My advice: try them before your spend $300 on them.

    Way not as good as the discontinued MIE2i

    I was so disappointed with the sound quality of this headset, that I'm returning it. Barely any base tones! I had a friend listen with my old MIE2i, and with this headset. Blindfolded. To the same song. On my laptop. He didn't even hesitate to reject the SoundSport. Like most people, I don't only use my headset to make calls, for which it may be adequate, but also to listen to music on my laptop, my iPad and my iPhone.

    Sticky wires

    The wire insulation material on these deteriorate and become sticky. Customer service at Bose is of no help.
