    So far, so good

I had for almost two years the Quiet Comfort 15 and enjoyed them, until one day is stopped working. Thanks God I had the 2-years plan still valid, Best Buy exchanged it for the 25 and I'm satisfied so far. Sound wise I don't see any noticeable improvement, however the fact the headphones are working even when the noise canceling is turned off is a HUGE PLUS, since they will not day on you like the 15.

Big improvement over the previous model

After using these headphones for one month, I can honestly say they are great! I have the previous model QC15 headphones and loved them. But this new model is a big improvement. For one, now you can use the headphones without turning on the noise canceling feature. This will allow you to use the headphones even when the batteries run out (which happened to me on a trans-Pacific flight!). Also, they fit more comfortably over the ears. The sound quality is excellent with rich bass and treble. Overall, I think they are great headphones and I'm glad to see an improvement on the previous generation of headphones.

My other headphones sound bad now

I've had these for a few weeks now and have to say, after the initial sticker shock(which I expected), I've come to realize that as with anything you get what you pay for. I used these on a 5 hour road trip. When turned on, wheel and engine noise are completely cancelled and it's almost eery. With the NC off, sound quality suffers a little, but they still sound decent. With NC on, however, every single frequency feels as if it has it's own spave and the clarity, even when I'm listening to low quality Youtube videos is superb. I wear them at work for 7 hours a day without any discomfort.

I enjoyed and love my Bose QuietComfort 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones! They are very comfortable. I wore for them for almost an hour and they felt as good as the moment I put them on. But I what I liked most about them was both the noise canceling aspect as well as the quality of sound. With a name like Bose you expect the sound quality to be excellent and it was. I heard distinctly every range from the base to the high treble with clarity. The music was full and bright. I loved listening to music with these headphones. But what I was most surprised about was their ability to cancel out noise. I could not hear the person talking next to me nor could I hear my own voice. And with these headphones sitting so softly on my ears I was amazed they such great job! Great job Bose! I love these headphones and I have told my friends about them. They are a great product!

I study classical music performance, so I decided to invest in a pair of high quality headphones. My dad had a pair already, and I loved them so I knew this was the one I should get. The noise canceling is superb! I love using these on my flights, on the bus.. everywhere I go where I do not want to hear noise. I recommend it to all my friends. Best investment ever!!!

Game Changer for Public Transportation/Coffee Shop

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My initial on-the-fly purchase was the previous generation, QC15 Bose, in October 2014. Putting them on and activating the noise cancellation was like sliding into a plush chair at a high-end spa, in just tuning-out the rest of the world and sending me into Relaxation Land. I had no idea how much loud ambient noise there is on a public bus (engines rumblings); listening to music while walking on a sidewalk next to a busy neighborhood street (cars whining by), or at a coffee shop with music playing (with the grumbling HVAC system in the background), until I fell in love with Bose noise-cancelling capabilities. For me, these NC headphones are a game changer. But it took some research to figure-out the differences, so here I'll speak to what I uncovered. The next-generation (so newer) QC 25 Bose actually enables you to play music without the AAA battery (which the QC 15 does not support), and in carrying around laptops/cellphones/GPS units, I definitely prefer having something in my quiver that doesn't have to be charged to work (which the QC 25 offers!). So, that is why I upgraded to the QC 25. I can't speak to the difference in the sound quality on the QC 15 and 25, but a different reviewer spoke to that. On the QC 25, the inner ear cuffs are marked with a huge L and R, which is a pleasant, helpful bonus (which the QC 15 does not). And the headband was minimized (to fit into a smaller travel box) on the QC 25, and for whatever reason, is rather uncomfortable while wearing than the QC 15. For me, on the QC 25, all of their weight feels like it's resting on the spine of my scalp. I called Bose customer service and asked if I could switch-out the more comfortable headband from the QC 15, and he said that wasn't possible and the QC 25 may just have a longer break-in period. So for the shape of my head, the QC 25 headband is a negative feature due to its discomfort. And last, still having a cable is annoying, as that it gets yarded-on when I take-on/take-off my backpack. But Bose doesn't offer noise-cancelling wirelessly, and as that the NC was the key feature I sought with this purchase, I'm stuck with a wire (which is rather long, which is nice). Overall, I prefer the QC 15's headband, but I couldn't imagine not being able to play music with a dead AAA battery, so that is why I went w/ the QC 25 (but just be sure to check the headband comfort).

    Excellent sound cancelling

I decided on these headphones primarily for the noise cancelling feature. I split time working in an office and travelling on planes and this set really does wonders to drown out constant background noise. You can still hear people talking if you aren't listening to music, but the sound is reduced greatly. They are comfortable enough to leave on all day and really help to keep me focused. Audio quality sounds very good. I do have another set (Astro A50) that is geared towards gaming and those do produce much more bass, but the Bose set is more comfortable and definitely keeps the ambient noise away much better.

These headphones are a must if you fly, cuts out most and sometimes all of the engine noise when you fly.. They also sound fabulous. Always check your seat back before you leave the plane, on my second pair because I left first pair on the plane, loved them enough to buy them again.

I just bought these headphones and I'm writing this review 37,000 feet above the Atlantic. While the music sound quality is impressive, I'm blown away by the noise cancellation. The only two things I don't like about these headphones is (1# price and #2) wish they were wireless. Otherwise, they are superb and a very high quality product.

I was torn between these and Beats Solo 2's. I actually got the Solo2's, but returned them after a few days and exchanged them for the Bose QC25's. These are VERY comfortable, and the sound is amazing! Also, the noise canceling works great as well, gets rid of any sort of white noise and other ambient noise as well. Not a whole lot more to say. I have always heard "No Highs, No Lows, Must Be Bose" because they are known for their excellent mid-range sound, but not much more... but I gotta say I am a fan of these headphones. They do sound good, they are light, comfortable, and seem to be built well.

These are the newest noise cancelling headphones and top product 12/14. Of course, they work well on an airplane, but I mostly use these for concentrating during work and study. Their sound quality is excellent and the noise cancelling effect is amazing.

    Eh...

The sound is too low, especially on songs that were recorded before the 90's (for those who enjoy classics). I gave these a shot since its Bose and Bose is probably top leading companies in the sound dept. I tried all different types of sounds and tried a song with bass heavy power and volume...The higher I put the volume, the more 'cracky-er' things sounded... Almost to let me know that it cannot give more power to the songs bass. If I lowered the volume one notch, the bass is fine but the volume is just...lower. When listening to a rock song (this time Metallica), everything just sounded annoyingly loud (obviously most classic Metallica tracks were recorded before great sound technology was implemented). Overall, I'm a bit disappointed. I thought these would create great isolating sound quality but I ended up getting upset when I wanted to put certain songs louder and can't or if I hear certain songs and its just way too low. I enjoy knowing that a song can go to a certain max volume and I have the option of lowering it - rather than a song that theres no more volume to and you're just stuck with a low sounding song.

Hello AmberAlert. Thank you for the review. We appreciate the your feedback. You should be getting excellent sound quality with no cracking and plenty of volume from the Bose QuietComfort 25 headphones, and we are sorry to hear that you are not. One thing to try is another battery as a low battery can cause low volume and poor sound, but if that does not resolve it there may be something going on with this pair of headphones and we would definitely like to help. Please call us at 800-380-4831. We are available Monday through Friday 9am to 9pm and Saturday 9am to 7pm EST. Bose

I have been using these headphones for the last 4 months AND have had the chance to compare them with the Bluetooth equivalent for nearly 2 weeks. The difference between wired and Bluetooth is amazing, the wire really helps deliver quality sound. If you just need silence, you can remove the wire and enjoy the quality of the silence. I have also let a friend borrow the QC25 for a webinar and he too commented on how 'outstanding' they really are. There are some noteworthy features that I was not aware of when I bought and would like to bring them to light. Keep in mind, these are noteworthy topics not necessarily issues. These do run on AAA batteries, and if you buy just regular Duracell (or whatever) they will deplete after about 8 hours of music use (10 hours of silence). There is a specially designed extra battery storage built into the case that makes looking for an extra battery a breeze. The noise canceling feature is truly great; however, unaccompanied to music there is a slight change in pressure (you get used to it after a few uses). Example, suppose ambient noise on a scale of 0 equals +1, the noise canceling will send a -1 signal into your headphones bringing you back to 0. This change in pressure is so nominal we even put them on our son's ears when we fly and he does stay asleep. Regarding sound, they are VERY clear; however not blaring. I also have the BT PowerBeats2 by Dre and they are much louder (by a lot). My guess is that blocking out the sound means you do not need it so much 'noise' in your ear. Best put like this - running in a gym, these headphones are great, running on the road, these would not be the headphones I would turn to.... ever (only due to sound levels, hence the BT PowerBeats 2 by Dre) Other than that, I would recommend them predominantly for flying but they have found great use keeping sound out while studying in Starbucks, waiting for an airplane, in the cafeteria or anywhere I would like to reduce overpowering ambient sound. The build quality, in my opinion, looks and feels exactly what you would expect from a super premium headphone. If the $300 price tag is acceptable, or even doable, I really feel that these headphones can go the distance against time - I'm sure yours will too! Best of luck and I hope this review helped, give it a 'thumbs up'!

Bose still has the chops for superior products even while competition keeps creeping up. Bought these for a rare airplane trip to California. Blocks out 97% of noise while playing your music in its full range, loud or super low. Was gonna return them once I got back to Florida but I'm keeping them!

I bought them so I can concentrate in a noisy office. So far, I found them very comfortable, and they do a great job at quieting the surrounding noise. I didn't find them to be the best sounding, however, when it comes to playing music. I use them on a Mac and got a better sound by adding the Boom app (equalizer) to my Mac.
