There is a little less bass, but more mid range. There is a more well-rounded sound than just the heavy bass.

I purchased the Bose QuietComfort 25 noise canceling headphones after using a less expensive Sony pair for a year. The difference was amazing and the cost difference was justified after my first use. Makes sleeping on the plane much easier and the whole experience much more comfortable. I turned them off a couple of times on my last flight just to see how well they were working and I do not know how I was ever able to fly without these. A must have!

I use them for work conference calls and just to listen to music throughout the day. I also almost always forget to turn off the noise canceling switch when I am done using them, so my battery use is off. The website claims 30 hours of battery use. I know I have us d them all day, left them on overnight, and still gotten another half day of use out of them. If you're good about turning them off when you are done, then you can get quite a bit of use.

We have found the Headphones Very Comfortable to Wear & Great at Noise-Canceling. The Wife wears them when Vacumimg the house in Noise Canceling mode only with NO Music. So I thought I would give it a try myself and what a difference it made. Cant wait to take them on a Plane Trip. Also Great Audio Sound from Music Tracks just off the Computer Too. They Fold Very Easy into the Supplied Protective Carrying Case which dosent Look Cheep at All.

Recently traveled to Europe and these were great for the flights. Sound is good and they are comfortable.

I love Bose and buy a lot of their products. Everything I have from their sound bar, satellite speakers, pc speakers and mobile speakers are great! These headphones don't disappoint. Definitely better than my JVC and Sony canceling headphones. However there was one thing I didn't like...if you don't turn on the noise canceling the sound from the headphones sounds really flat. Actually my headphones from my iPhone sound better. But once you turn it on...it's a whole different experience. Sound, canceling white noise blend nicely together. Also, I do wish it had a bluetooth option. Expensive? Yes, it's Bose. Worth the money? Yes, but for noise canceling. If you're an audiophile there are better options for headphones.

I'm interested in headphones that not only sound good but that fit well and can be worn for extended periods of time without discomfort. The noise canceling feature is an added plus for plane flights and blocking out distracting noises while I'm working. Recommended.

I had the Beats before these. These Bose are way more comfortable than the Beats. The sound is better too.

I wasn't sure if I would like using headphones instead of earbuds, but one plane trip with these has made a believer of me. I knew the Bose sound quality would be top notch, I've had several other Bose products and have always found the sound to be unbelievably crisp and clear. But what I love, love, love about these is the noise cancellation. I don't know how it works, but IT WORKS. I was finally able to hear my movie and music while flying.

Purchased these as a replacement for 'Brand X' which was basically falling apart after some years of use, and then storage for two years. These seem to work as they are supposed to - I know they have better noise cancelling performance compared to my old Solitude Head Set. Sound quality (as much as I can tell) seemed very good, based on the music and film soundtracks I have listened to with these. I'm looking forward to many years of use.

The QC25 has been out for several years. They have the Bose patented noise canceling technology--wow does it ever work--almost too good (for the office). Best Buy Super Black Friday discounts (and chance offering 18 Dec) made this an unbeatable buy. The QC35 (wireless version) has more amplified bass and trebles--but that's not very important to me. The nicad batteries require more frequent charging than the QC25 battery replacement. On discount (you have to watch the pricing), for half the price of the QC35, the quality, and features of the QC25 are unbeatable. When I first got it, the QC25 headset took maybe 10 minutes to get fully setup and working. After a month with them--it all makes perfect sense, the carry case is just right sized. I love the entire set. Maybe 5-10 years from now, I'll go wireless with the QC35--but I'm in no hurry, the QC25 meets most all my present needs.

I have used these for years traveling..well on American as they would offer them if upgraded...quality has improved as well as the fit and comfort....I prefer the buds as they take up little room but if traveling with a carry on and I have space...I will take these as well!

I bought these to help out drown out the noise in the university library. While they don't drown out 100% of the noises, they do a great job otherwise. I have listened to music and movies, and it was GREAT!!! I didn't even hear the train pass by my home. If you're an audiophile, there are ones that specifically work for that, but they work for my need of silence (greatly diminished noise), general music playing and movie watching. Enjoy.

I love my BOSE noise cancelling headphones. They blockout a majority of the noise and/or at least the sharpness. If I have them plugged into my computer I can listen to relaxing music and all other noises are blocked out - complete heaven. I startle easily to loud sounds and often need a calming environment. Since I can't run to the mountains every time I need some quiet the BOSE noise cancelling headphones are the next best thing!
