They did a great job of blocking out airplane noise over numerous trips. Fairly lightweight and were easy to use although getting them to fold into the correct form for the case requires some practice. Pricey but worth it. Not a trendy look but looks appropriate for anybody over 30.

With music off, I just turned these puppies on while my mom was running the blender in the background and it cuts down the noise to light hum. Haven't used them on the plane yet but can't wait. Super comfortable does not squeeze my head and it cups my big ears well. I would say they cut sound out by 80% which is huge. The remaining 20% is filtered out with the music when its playing. Good quality and good buy. I still love the way other brands like Beats, Skullcandy, and even Sony look but that's the sacrifice you have to make for good sound quality from a company that's been doing this for a long time.

Noise Cancellation is Amazing

The noise cancellation function of these is amazing. BUT I tend to like a bit more bass in my music. That is really the only complaint. These are very comfy (I wore them for more than 8 hours straight on an international flight) and the case they come in is fantastic.

With my job, I sometimes work in distracting environments such as coffee shops, shared spaces, etc. I was considering noise cancelling headphones to reduce the distractions and finding a pair that were compatible with my iPhone was a must for conference calls. In researching the brands in the market, I settled on Bose given their reputation and proven technology. I chose the over-the-ear pair rather than the in-the-ear model so as to bring excellent sound quality to my music as well. I am extremely pleased with these headphones and consider them to be one of my best purchases of the year! They are very comfortable and my music sounds great. Even better is that I can sit in the middle of a loud coffee shop and be in my own world. The calls that I am on while using the headphones are crystal clear. I highly recommend these Bose noise cancelling headphones. Cheers.

Great sound quality and good noise cancelling. A big bonus for this model is that it does not require batteries like the older models to listen to music. The head set is very comfortable.

This is my third pair. I always get the Geek Squad Warranty, because something always appears to go wrong with them. I definitely like them a lot better than the beat I previously owned. These are much lighter, don't make my ears/head sweat and they are not as clunky. For the price, I might consider the Sony ones my friend had bought years ago. Seemed just as good, but at a much lower price.

Stellar NC, pretty good sound--comfort...well...

Most of you looking at a pair of Bose NC headphones this expensive probably already know that Bose is pretty much the king of active noise cancellation (though recent reviews would have you believe that Sony may have just dethroned Bose for most capable NC--maybe). And true to that reputation, you'll be hard-pressed to find a noise-cancelling headphone that sounds THIS good for this price that does NC so exceptionally well. But again, you probably already knew that.
So what remains when all the OTHER aspects of the headphone are taken into account...what do you have when the NC is taken out of the picture? A few notes to consider while you're deciding if these are right for you.
First, no...there's no lithium rechargeable battery--it's a plain-old AAA. Personally, however, I love the fact that the battery is user-replaceable...no worrying about EVER having to scrap the headphones just because the battery no longer holds a charge. And if you have a really long flight/bus trip ahead of you, just pack an extra AAA. Better still, you can still operate the headphones in wired mode even if the battery dies completely, though in truth, they actually sound BETTER when the noise cancellation is activated (which I don't understand because usually NC degrades sound quality).
Second, speaking of wires, the wired iOS remote does everything it's supposed to do. Strain relief seems adequate though I can't really comment on longevity as I've only had them a few months now. Yeah, bluetooth would be nice, but the tradeoff there is that the QC35 is more expensive, doesn't have a user-replaceable battery, and compromises just slightly on wireless fidelity because it doesn't use the higher quality AptX codex.
Finally...down to comfort. At first I thought I was going to be in heaven; these cans are very light and the cushioning on the ear pads is incredibly soft and luxurious. However, the ear openings themselves are somewhat narrow even though they're fairly tall so you might feel some pressure on some portion of your ear or another (probably the back edges) if you just can't get your ears to fit quite right between the lips of the ear pads. I also find that the headband, though very comfortable to the touch, becomes a bit bothersome over time because it's relatively thin and the clamping force applied down across a wide swathe of the head is fairly substantial. I can wear these comfortably for a few hours, but for very extended sessions, the backs of my ears (the helix I believe they're called) start to burn and I'm forced to re-adjust the whole assembly forward or backward on my head (to relieve headband pain) and back-to-front to give my ears a break. Bottom line, the weight and design SHOULD be very accommodating for most people, but just to be safe, I recommend trying them on in person to make sure you know what you're getting into.
All that said, these are still some great cans for what they do. I have much better headphones for when I'm doing some serious listening, but for travel phones that wrap you in an almost silent sonic cocoon, there's really not much competition. For example, I have the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 2.0 around-the-ear; definitely a much better headphone when it comes to sound quality (refinement, presentation, detail, etc.), but the Bose still bests that $400 set of cans when it comes to noise-cancellation...so if that's what you're after first and foremost, you'll likely be glad you paid Bose's price of admission.

I was replacing my stolen qc-15's.
The QC25's ARE more comfortable. less hot ears. isolation about the same as the 15's. much easier to carry/pack.
it is worth it to get the 25's rather than the 15's which are usually ~$200 now. but at $150 I would go for the 15's. Your decision.
comparing them to my wife's bose earbud 20i 's is hard too. I tried both back to back, in the office and on a plane, and decieded I didn't like earbuds. I noticed myself unconsciously taking them out at any opportunity. the Qc25's stayed on and I didn't notice them.
but the earbuds are so much better suited for discreet, and walking/trains/commutes.
Tough call. try both, a lot.

Excellent noise canceling headphones

I bought these headphones originally to use when flying, and they did not disappoint. They blocked out nearly all of the aircraft's engine noise but did not interfere much when the flight attendant would talk to me. One drawback during the flight is that it did not drown out the sounds of crying babies; you can't win em all I suppose.. They are also quite comfortable, but toward the end of my 10 hour flight they did start to annoy me.
I had read a review on these before purchasing them that says when the batteries die so does the music, this is definitely not the case! I would also like to add that they are great when plugged into my electric piano, I find it much easier to practice that way!
Overall I am very satisfied with these headphones and would recommend them to anybody who doesn't mind spending the money on them.

I wish the volume control on the cord worked with androI'd phones. Other than that these are the best noise cancelling headphones and they sound amazing. I work in an office job and so i wear thsse 5 days a week 8 hours a day and they are super comfortable. In the office it can get pretty loud at times; if there are distractions sometimes I have a hard time focusing and my job requires intense focus and multitasking. Alot of times I simply wear the headphones without music just to be able to finish a thought. I love them and I don't know how I would be able to do my job without them. I definitely recommend these and would buy them again in a heartbeat.

they are extremely comfortable and the noise canceling is phenomenal. The one problem I have with them is the same problem I have with many Bose products. They are exceptional at mid-ranged sounds, but their base and high-range sounds are lacking.

I wear them all day at work. They're lightweight and extremely comfortable; and they keep me from being distracted by office background noise. This is the third pair of Bose over-the-ear headphones I've purchased; second pair of noise-cancelling. The Quiet-Comfort 25's are noticeably better than the previous model. I still use the older two pairs which I had Bose refurbish. The only negatives are that they're pricey and the ear cushions quickly wear out. if you wear them for working out, your sweat will cause the coating on the cushions to break down. Fortunately, they're easily replaceable and not too costly.

I'll try to update this review if anything changes in the future, but I bought this on a Black Friday sale online two weeks ago. So far, I really like it.
Disclaimer: this is my first set of high quality, over-ear headphones. I've mainly owned cheap earbuds (e.g. Apple EarPods or the Panasonic in-ear earbuds from Amazon) prior to this pair. The only other pair that I've tried was the Beats Solo2 on-ear headphones and I felt very "meh" (3/5) about their comfort level.
The sound is clear enough, but I'm no audiophile. It's pretty light, considering the noise-canceling that's built-in. The noise canceling works well enough, although I wish it would cover up more sound without music playing - but that may defeat the purpose of them, so I'm not marking off for that.
I took off a star for two reasons. After a couple hours, the top of my head does hurt/feel a little sore from wearing it for so long. That may just be a headphones in general thing for me. The other was that the ability for it to twist at the base (where it's screwed in) pulls at my long hair when I take them off sometimes and prevents me from putting them around my neck comfortably.

I upgraded to the QC25 when my QC15 was stolen. Both sets work great. The only noticeable difference to me is that the QC25 can pump sound without noise cancelling turned on, so you can still listen if you run out of juice.
Before buying this set, I tried on other noise cancelling sets at the store and Bose still fits me the best. I like the way the speakers are angled within the ear cups, so my big Dumbo ears fit very comfortably. The padding is nice and soft so it doesn't push on the arms of my glasses too much. Some other sets cause pain after a while, either because of the fit or pressure. I can do a cross country flight with these just fine. The price is a heck of a bullet to bite, but it's worth it.

I have had a pair of the QuietComfort 15 Noise Cancelling Headphones for a couple years now and have enjoyed them. I upgraded to the QuietComfort 25 and there are some improvements: you can still use the headphones without a battery, better noise cancelling tech, they fold more compact in a nice case. These headphones are just a light as the QC15 so you can wear them for hours at a time comfortably. Sound reproduction is beautiful and clear. Standard headphone cable to plugs into any device. I chose the apple cable version and taking calls works great on the iphone. With the noise cancelling turned on, you can listen to anything without having to turn the volume up so loud.
