the good: - sound quality - slight V shaped sound curve, but otherwise very balanced in my opinion. certainly not going to be overly bass heavy, but not lacking bass at all. not fatiguing to listen to, in fact the opposite. between the fit and the sound quality, these have become my go to pair of cans not only for traveling but for daily use. the sound quality feels very close to the QC version I, after that previous version had its firmware updates (beforehand, the QC I sound was quite anemic, boring, and flat. bose did a good job updating these to a much more immersive and exciting sound with these firmware updates). the QC II out of the box sounded great to my ears, for multiple different genres of music. - ANC - still industry leading, but now we have the ability to control the level of noise canceling, with the addition of high, low, and off. this can be controlled in app, or with the new button on the left can (which can also be repurposed to select google assistant if you wished.) - comfort - somehow a mix of “not too tight” and “don’t feel like they’re going to fall off”. bose tends to have super comfortable headphones, and these are no exception. you can almost forget you’re wearing them. - bose app / connectivity - again, the bose app is the best i’ve tried hands down. connectivity to multiple devices (2 simultaneously, automatically switching back and forth depending on the signal. i.e. listening to music from your computer, take a call automatically from your phone without switching over manually. pretty cool stuff.) also, the ability to switch your connection to another device via the app (without having to go manually disconnect) is priceless. - styling - typical bose styling, which you either like or you hate. i like it personally. - carrying case - nice protective case. - battery life - also leading the pack of ANC headphones is the rated 20-30 hours, depending on what configuration you’re using (ANC level, wired, etc.) the bad: -none really to speak of misc: - some may prefer a more “beats” style sound curve, i.e. more bass heavy. overall: fantastic pair of ANC earphones, but aside from the button on the side to either activate google home assistant or change the level of ANC, not a ton has changed from the previous version of QC. if you have version I, you may not find much of a need to update. if you don’t, i can highly recommend version II.

    Great Sound... Just Short Lived

I have tried both the Bose and Sony top of the line head phones. The Sony has a better sound (compared to my ear & type of music). I also think the design is more modern and sophisticated. But... but. I went through two sets in a month. Both had issues with the drivers sound distorted and making a sound when certain percussion hit. Not lows, more mid snares. the specific sound is Fall For You by Kings of Tomorrow. This was not evident early one, but only after a short time in service. My Bose earbuds handle this song just fine as an example. The Bose wireless head phones didn't do any better on this song.

It may be the best sounding headphones I’ve own, but the overall package is excellent. It sounds great, light and comfortable, good battery life, and the noise cancellation is amazing. The 35 II adds built in Google Assistant, and it works without having to unlock the phone. It also works as a wired headphone when the battery runs out. The minor negative is that it seems fragile where the ear piece folds and twist. Good: -Noise cancelling blocks out all background noise -Light, compact and foldable, and comfortable -Wired mode -Can connect multiple devices simultaneously Bad: -Seems fragile at the joints -App is very basic I don’t usually wear headphones for long periods of time due to them getting uncomfortable, but I can wear these without any soreness or “ear sweat.” It’s light and folds down flat. I’m no audiophile, but this may not sound quite as good as other premium headphones I have, although very close. Still the excellent noise canceling makes up for that. The sound is good with enough bass but without being overpowering. I can’t praise the noise cancelling enough. Ambient noise, crowds, and wind are all filtered out. Even a loud tv in the same room is reduced to a murmur. Setting up was easy. The Bose Connect app is very basic. Beyond firmware update, it lets you customize the action button, set noise cancelling levels, auto timer, and manage your connected devices. I’m able to connect to my Galaxy s6, iPad, and my surround receiver easily enough with some minor hiccups here and there The new feature is the built in Google Assistant. There’s a dedicated button for it, and the good thing is that you don’t have to touch your phone at all. It’s cool being able to get the latest scores while listening to music. I don’t use it much, but when I do, it work as needed. The battery life is rated at 20 hours, and so far it seems to be right. I’ve been using these for on/off for about an hour at a time for a couple of days and the battery still reads 100%. If you need noise cancelling headphones and not concerned with the absolute best of best studio sound quality, then this is a worthwhile purchase. It sounds good, block out almost all background noise, very comfortable, doubles for a calling headset, and the Google Assist is a nice feature. I’m eager to take these on my flights.
