Aparently only works with phones. Also poor noise cancelling. Got Sony 1000XM3 with Very Good connections, noise cancelling, comfort, & sound quality and other features compared side by side.

I tried using them as simple noise-cancelling headphones; however, it's impossible because it keeps trying to pair to her phone with an audible error. Also, it repeats the battery level. So, I would say this product description is very misleading or false. It's not possible to use as a simple noise-cancelling headphone without connecting to a device. Very disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted .Hey, It's great to hear how much your wife is enjoying listening to podcasts on these headphones. It's a shame that you've not gained as much enjoyment. If you want to disable the Bluetooth features, I'd recommend connecting the audio cable. You don't need to connect it to a device, but as long as it is inserted into the headphones, Bluetooth will be disabled and you can use noise cancellation on it's own without disruption.
