    Interntionally poorly made

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought a pair of Bose QuietComfort 35s in July of 2017. In the last month, the ear pads have completely come apart and the on/off switch has started to malfunction. The company was convinced to send me a pair of replacement ear pads, but would do nothing to address the faulty on/off switch beyond a minimal discount on a new pair of headphones. Even when the on/off switch is in the off position, the headphones will turn on automatically, draining the battery unnecessarily. This, of course, means the battery will now burn out much faster. When the battery is done, so is the noise cancelling and wireless utility of this product. Is it a coincidence that the product broke just after the warranty expired? You be the judge. What I can tell you from having replaced the earpads myself (and having seen the guts of these headphones) is that there is nothing in the construction of this product to warrant the price. They are cheaply made and the product will break shortly after the warranty has expired. Buyer beware. Serial No. - 072546Z63365436AE

    Buy ANYTHING ELSE

I bought my QC35's about three years ago. Used them occasionally when I travel. Keep them in the case. They don't get beat on or abused. Recently I turned them on to find the battery was dead. No problem I thought, plugged them in and charged them up. Then I noticed that even though the power switch was "off" they were still turned on. I cycled the switch and they went off. Just a few minutes later they mysteriously turned back on without being touched. Updated the firmware from the Bose website. No change. Did a little research and found that Bose is well aware of this problem from the number of people who report the same exact issue. Bose's response is "sorry, your warranty is expired, buy a new set". I paid $350 for these and feel they should last a lot longer. Seriously, buy something else or you will be out of your money too.

these headphones have great sound quality and are very noise canceling, but what I am very annoyed about is that the music randomly stops. I am just getting into a song then BAM! it just pauses. I know its the headphones because I tried a pair of earbuds and it went through 3 songs without pausing. with the headphones, I can only get about 15 seconds. very, very annoyed.

Amazing sound, noise cancelling dies in 2 years

So let me say that this was the first pair of expensive, noise cancelling headphones I've ever purchased(around $400). Everyone has raved about Bose for years and I thought, hey, I'm an animator. I spend hours on the computer with noise and people talking. I'll get these because they're supposed to be the best! 2 years later, my noise cancelling went out. Super dissapointing after how much I've spent. I love these headphones, but they're not fully functional anymore. They're out of warranty and don't do the full job they were purchased for. I assume if I go with another brand my noise cancelling will last a bit longer than 2 years, especially since I've babied these headphones. Beware buyer.

These headphones may be one of the best out right now, but Bose Customer service doesnt live up to expectations. My headphones started showing issues like not turning off and connecting to nearest Bluetooth connection even when the power button is off just as the warranty passed. Called customer service to set up repair but the best thing they could do was offer me new headphones for a discounted price. Was hoping for better durability. Im just disappointed.

Still using old connectors; where is USB C?

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Great sound, unsurpassed noise cancelling, and a solid "5" except Bose is still using out-of-date micro-USB tech for power and audio. Bose needs to move to USB C with the rest of industry, like Sony has done with their WH1000XM3. Otherwise your investment comes with the curse of carrying two extra cables just for your headphones to be compatible with all modern phones.

    Functionally useless.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It could have the greatest cancellation and sound quality in the world. But it wouldn't matter, because actually using this literal pile of garbage is a nightmare. Especially because, if it turns itself off, it also plays an unchangeable synth hit at maximum volume, so if you were sleeping on the plane, this will be sure to wake you up. Which, of course, defeats the entire purpose of noise cancellation. And you can't play anything whatsoever while it charges. And the app isn't useful. I don't enjoy listening through these headphones, because their "features" ruin any enjoyment I might have from a headphone-based experience. And naturally, on the many, many, many, many threads I've seen in which complain about these exact issues (especially the chime) the bose response has been to assume we're all idiots for not wanting such a 'fantastic and undeniably necessary feature'. Bose is awful and so are their products.

Bose is the new Apple practice.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Do not buy these Bose Wireless QC ii headphones. Bose is forcing current owners to buy their new Bose 700. They have down graded the Noise Cancelation on the QC ii. The high mode NC is no better than low mode. If you have firmware that has been install in the last 8 month's. You are not getting proper NC. The last firmware that actually works are in the 3.5.1. Save your money. Look for something else. For those with the new Bose 700 be worry. It's a matter of time they do the same to these. With the new version are release. If you go to Bose community online. You'll get many complaints filled to Bose. Bose is denying everything. Just like Apple did.

Terrible disappointment. All my indicators are at max for volume and the sound was soooo lacking. It's as if only 75% of the potential volume is being utilized. Like the power of my videos and music is being baffled or something. For $350, it should be melting my brain.

Broke in 9 months, no warranty support!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have had this headset for 9 months and the right speaker has already stopped working. No power or sound to the speaker. I contacted Bose for warranty support and they told me as this malfunction is considered "normal wear and tear" and for that it is not covered under the warranty. Bose made it clear, a 9 month service on a premium $300 set of headphones is normal. I am very carful with the headset, it is always kept in its case and handled with care.

Repairing/Restarting does not work. I literally bought these lovely headphones FOR this computer. They would be perfect if not for this. I don't want the Sony ones, I am going to have to switch. They smell

The headphones work well but I wear them during my workout at the gym and the earcups smell. I wipe them off a few times during each workout but that does no good. I have wiped them down with dish detergent as the manual recommends but that has not helped either. The support representative at Bose could give me no other recommendation on keeping them from smelling. These are very expensive headphones for only lasting smell-free for a few months.

Thank you for sharing your review on our QC35 II headphones.
We do not recommend that you use this product while doing physical workouts or activities, and would instead advise looking at our SoundSport line of headphones, such as the SoundSport Free, or SoundSport Wireless headphones.
One of the reasons we do not recommend this is because excessive moisture and sweat can be absorbed by the earcups, causing the smell you are experiencing here. The headphones themselves are removable and replaceable, so if you should be interested in this route, please get in touch with Bose Support in your country/region to look into this.
Thank you for your time, and have a wonderful day! bose

      Hello there,

We're sorry to see that you are having an unexpected battery issue with your headset. These steps here https://bose.life/3gXm35X will resolve this for you.

Bose doesn't repair headsets due to hygiene and design reasons, however we do offer exchange options instead. Your product would have came with a one year warranty and this service option that you would have been offered would have came with a fresh one year warranty.

will not cancel music from a PA system

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

my job blasts music over the PA, the headphones will cancel 85 db machine noise, 120 db air blasts, and all else. What this does is let the PA music, (80's top 40 over and over) through. So the sound I don't want is now clearer and louder. It is wrong for BOSE to say ALL noise is canceled. apparently outside music is not NOISE.

    Not Noise Cancelling

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had high expectations for this product, but was disappointed that they are not noise cancelling. They only diminish the sound and do not totally eliminate it, ie; TV . I could still hear the TV that was on medium volume. I think that if one is paying $349.00 plus tax, no sound should be heard. I am returning to Best Buy.

      Hello Annoferie,

Thanks for providing your review of the QC35 Series II wireless headphones. We're sorry that they did not quite live up to your expectations. We do not make any claims to cancel 100% of sound because it is difficult to establish one number that is valid for different environments and situations. QuietComfort 35 headphones compare very favorably to other noise reduction headphones and reduce unwanted noise to a level that is noticeably more comfortable when compared to the same situation without using the headphones. We encourage consumers to try it for themselves in a variety of situations, both with and without an external audio source.

ANC is most effective in environments with lots of low-frequency "droning" type sounds (Examples: Buses, air-conditioning, airplane engine noise, etc). We find that the noise cancellation effect may not be quite as effective on "transient" or "sharper" sounds in some environments. (Examples: The human voice, quick loud noises, babies crying, etc.)
