I bought these headphones as a gift for my boyfriend because he's always wanted Bose headphones. I got him the over the ear noise cancelling so while he's working on homework no one can bother him with their noise, he uses them everyday

Noise cancellation isn’t amazing without music on, but with music on it really gets the job done. Very comfortable as well.

The headphones are great, soft, comfortable and great to wear. The sound quality is much better than older models (I have QC15). The noise canceling works well with exception when plane is starting. There is a lot of cracking noises in headphones then. I might contact Bose about that.

I have found you cannot expect Noise Cancelling Headphones to cancel everything. These do most sound, especially if it is a consistent sound. if you have no sound coming through the headphone speakers, you don't have a sound-proof room. Add some music or other background sound into the headphones and you are blocking out most every normal noise that might be around you. This generation of Bose headphone does as advertised. The case that came with it is harder shell and does the job.

Got it on the black friday sale for $199. So far, I'm not as impressed as I was expecting. Absolutely very comfortable but I've heard your ears don't get hot wearing these for a long time but I don't find it to be true. The noise cancellation is good but I get a weird, dizzy sensation sometimes with it on. Bluetooth seems a bit spotty. There's a lag when connected to my computer (though it may be due to the computer not the headphones). I tried using it for work calls and seems to work great (sound is good and feedback on mic is that it sounds "good enough") BUT the mic stops working about 30 minutes into a call. Not good for work!

I was a bit skeptical ordering these. I travel a lot and the Apple Air pods were not cutting it. So I went with these and I have to say they changed my mind about over the ear headphones. Sometimes I will just turn on noise cancellation just to concentrate on work or academics. Another feature I enjoy is app sharing. I can have my headset on and if another person has a Bose headset they can listen to my music on my device.
