    Downgrade from QC 35 ii

I bought these to replace a pair of Bose QC 35 ii headphones, which I had owned since 2017 before recently losing them. I thought this would be an upgrade, but so far they are making me miss the quality of my QC 35 ii's, and I am considering returning them. Pros 1. Sound Quality - The sound quality and clarity is superb, as with most Bose products. They sound slightly more powerful than the previous model. 2. Comfort - They feel almost indistinguishable compared to the previous model, which is a good thing. These are probably the most comfortable ANC headphones you can buy in my opinion. I wore the QC 35 ii's often in excess of 8+ hours per day, and usually forgot that I even had them on. These feel every bit as good so far. 3. ANC - The active noise cancellation seems to be slightly better than the previous model, but unfortunately you can't adjust the ANC level like you could on the previous model. Overall it does a really great job at cancelling out nuisance sounds and making you feel like you're in your own world when you have them on. Cons 1. Connectivity Issues - This is by far the biggest issue for me. The sound keeps randomly cutting out for a few seconds, and this seems to happen for almost every couple minutes. This is happening on all of my devices with or without the Bose Music App installed. I've been a Bose fan for years and absolutely loved the previous model, but this seems to be a huge big step back. I don't seem to be alone in this either, as I have seen reports of other people experiencing the same issue. This is really a shame for the price point of these headphones, and this was never an issue for me with the QC 35 ii's. 2. Build Quality - Materials... Although these feel slightly lighter than the 35 ii's, overall they feel like a much more cheaply made product. The padding on the headband is now a pleather/leather material compared to the Alcantara material used on the previous model. Although this doesn't negatively impact comfort, it does make the headphones feel less premium. Also, the outer shell of the ear cups are now plastic compared to metal on the 35 ii's. The buttons... The ANC mode button doesn't register my clicks every time. This is extremely annoying, and was never an issue on the 35 ii's. Also, the pause/volume buttons don't have consistent click feedback. For example, I can easily tell when I press the volume down or pause button, but when I click the volume up button, it feels like the button is stuck, which throws you off since it feels totally different. This by it self isn't a deal breaker, and I do realize this might just be a quality issue with the particular headphones I received, but it adds to the overall feeling of an inferior product. The QC 35 ii's felt like they were premium and indestructible, where as the QC 45's feel more like a cheaper pair of headphones that probably won't last as long. In Conclusion If you're thinking about buying these, I would seriously consider buying the QC 35 ii's, as the major drawbacks of this new model outweigh the hardly noticeable improvements of the QC 45's.

      Hey there,
I'm glad to hear that you have so many Pros for our new QC45 headphones!
I'm sorry that you seem to have had a few issues with them since you purchased. In regards to the build materials, the QC35 II's also have a plastic outer shell, the same as those that can be found on the QC45's.
To help get the connectivity issues resolved, I have included some great troubleshooting steps here: https://bose.life/3oXBgLy, which will help create a more stable Bluetooth connection.
      Thanks!

Absolutely love them, using them right now. I know people love to criticize Bose - “no highs, no lows must be Bose.” Well, this pair is fantastic. Sound quality is crisp and authentic: crystal clear. I’ve had Beats and an earlier Bose QC before that. All I can say is I won’t be switching brands any more. Things I specifically like: design is slick and control buttons (which I prefer) are laid out logically; Bluetooth connectivity is easy and quick. Range of wireless is good.

Must have for my work from home job. Comfort/sound quality/noise cancellation are unmatched. I’ve tried the Sony’s and these beat them comfort wise.

Super comfortable, super quiet, super clear. I love these headphones! Haven’t use them for talking on the phone via Bluetooth but so far I like them a lot better than AirPods Pro.

Sound is excellent. Build quality is so so. It tends to fall apart over time particularly at the ear cups and also the frame is easily bent. Battery life is great, can go for days.

Sound quality is nice and the fit is comfortably snug. Not hard to pair with my phone though i get weird feedback in left ear which might just be small issue with the one i specifically got. Overall very nice set of headphones.

Good quality, sturdy, comfortable, easy to use. No issues with the noise cancelling. Sony has better noise-cancelling and better sound, but they had lots of problems. Sturdier than Skull Candy.

I used to own the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 (1st gen) for years until I gave them away to my sister. I tried other headphones (Bose 700, Sony 1000XM4) and these were still my favorite! Super comfy and have great noise canceling.

Bought this as a gift for my girlfriend because she’s been wanting some headphones in general. Heard her talk about it once and decided to get them for her. She fell in love instantly, didn’t really understand how since they seemed like regular headphones but woah. Let me tell you! These headphones are really good quality from the way it looks to how it sounds. Amazing work and quality all around. Definitely will be buying myself somevery soon!
