Best in class for comfort & ANC; features missing

I’ve had previous iterations of these headphones as well as probably the main competitor (who will remain nameless), plus a few other less expensive brands. These Bose headphones are, at least in my experience, the most comfortable to wear for long periods of time and offer best in class noise cancelling (though I’m realizing more and more that even ANC can be in the eye (actually ear) of the beholder and one’s perception of the quality of ANC can change as one ages. Regardless, for these 50-ish year old ears, I love the Bose. Now on to the title of my review, in particular, ‘features missing.’ I hope this is not misleading because I’m actually touting that as something good (and, hence, the 5 star review). It seems Bose has simplified these headphones down so that there are not many options to choose from, such as customizing the level of ANC or EQ. Maybe for the younger user, these may be viewed as issues with the Bose headphones but, again, for someone of my age, I actually appreciate not having to (and not being able to) fiddle with multiple controls and settings in an endless endeavor to tweak the sound.

      Hello,
We're sorry to hear that you're unable to get connected to your TV. Some TVs only let you connect a Bluetooth device (i.e. a smartphone) to play through the TV speakers. Be sure the TV you are trying to connect is able to send the TV's sound to Bluetooth speakers and headphones.

Like heaven. Very soft earcups which I need. Covers the entire ear and are adjustable so no pinching on ears with too much pressure. These headphones are excellent quality as well they should be at this price point. The sound is amazing and does include noise cancellation i.e. ‘quiet mode’. The box includes a USB-c charging cable. Also included is a 3mm earphone connector, however they are Bluetooth wireless which I would recommend you use. Pairing with a TV, computer or cell phone is simple; the headphones were found instantly on each source and pairing was successful. You should download the Bose Music App (be sure to get the correct Bose app). This app has controls for audio, phone calls, quiet/aware modes and voice assistant. The app will also tell you the percentage of charge. I wore the headphones 4 hours without removing them and didn’t know they were on my head, which is fantastic. The bass comes through perfectly. If you are looking for more precise sound reproduction, then these headphones are worth every penny. I highly recommend them.

Good sound quality, you can adjust the bass and treble through the app, also gives you update on how much battery life you have every time you turn it on.

Honestly, I’m disappointed and flat-out confused after trying the QC45. The QC35II remains my favorite headset to date, so I was excited to get my hands on this. I figured there’d be nothing but improvements, like the USB C charging port or the longer battery life. Unfortunately, it’s a real mixed bag compared to its predecessor. On its own, the QC45 is pretty good. The noise canceling is nice, the power on/off sounds are unique and add a bit of flair, and it’s constructed like a better QC35II. The sound quality is pretty good, and listening to music with them is a pleasure (as I’ve come to expect from Bose). Here’s where the headset disappoints: the QC35II feels like it has far more features than its successor. The QC35II had direct integration with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, which was absolutely wonderful while my hands were full – Google would actually read my notifications to me and make a chime even when my phone was on vibrate, which helped tremendously with not missing notifications that were actually important. Additionally, the QC35II had a neat little feature that would allow two pairs of Bose Bluetooth headphones to play music from the same smart device without the need for splitters or dongles or whatever. The QC45 has neither of those. The QC45 sounds great, looks great, feels great, and does a good job at playing my music without distorting it like some other headsets I’ve used. It just feels lackluster compared to it’s predecessor.

Hello! I am so glad to hear how much you love Bose. I am excited to hear you are enjoying the longer battery life and new charger alongside the noise cancellation and structure. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the additional features you would like to see. I will be sure to pass them onto the development team for you. Did you know that using the Multi-function button on the back of the right earcup gives you access to your phone’s default virtual assistant, like Siri?

Best noise cancelling and active listening

At first these did not seem like anything special for over the ear headphones. The more I played with the noise cancelling and Active listening. The more I see the strengths of these. In my house it can be loud and I want to be able to concentrate on what I am listening too. Other times I want to be able to hear if someone talks to me. This has been the best implementation I have heard. Really comfortable and like how I can flip options in the Bose app. Only con’s are there are no EQ adjustments and I have heard some better headphones where surround sound like dolby atmos is present. These are good but have heard better in that regard. The included case is nice and small since the fold up so traveling with them takes little space. I like where Bose was heading with these.

Really great until they stopped working

I got these early in 2023, or possibly for Christmas in 2022. The sound is awesome, the noise cancellation is pretty decent, battery lasts super long, and they're comfortable to wear. Unfortunately, about a year and a half after purchasing them, they started having connection issues - they will, every 2-7 minutes or so, stutter and then cut out for about 15 seconds. I've tried resetting them several times, disconnecting all other devices, every suggested fix, and nothing has worked. And, after doing some research, it appears that this is a very common issue. These headphones are way too expensive to be having these issues so quickly after purchasing. I wouldn't buy them again, at least until Bose fixes this issue.

    BEST NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONES!!!!

Super great quality and great sound. The noise cancellation component definitely does its job and impressed me on how quiet the outside was. Easy to control and use the settings too, it also lasts all day for hours after consistent use, i would say on the 3rd day it needs to be charged. The connection to the bluetooth also is smooth and connects quickly

they completely died two months in, with no charging and no playing. Not sure how much I can trust this brand anymore. Going to try to return and replace, my fault for throwing out the box they came in. Not expecting them to break so easily, never bought the extended warranty. Lesson learned. Although when paying almost 300 dollars, I don't expect things just stop working. Maybe you will have a better experince.

    Love these things!

These are dynamite for transcription. The noise cancellation when turned on makes everything outside silent. I don't use the noise cancellation very much because I think the design of the earphones without it turned on drowns out a lot of noise without being turned on and allows me to listen to music in the background fairly loudly without interrupting my transcription audio. Very comfortable. Thumbs up overall.

I randomly wanted headphones like this one day so I did some research and I’ve had Bose products before so I decided to try this. I love them! The sound quality is good and the noise canceling works decently well too. My favorite thing about them is how comfortable they are though. They don’t hurt my ears or head at all. Plus the color is super cute!

The QC45 is very comfortable. I wear them most of the day with no issues at all. The sound is perfect. I've used the QC45 for games, music, and movies. I love the buttons on the right ear. They feel great and have a good, solid press. The charging is insanely fast, so if I forget to charge them it does not take long to get them charged enough for several hours of use. The only issue I have is that when I connect it to my phone as a second device it can sometimes cause a sporadic, slight crackling sound.

I had to buy these because one of my kids "borrowed" my QuietComfort 35 and I haven't seen them since. I was hesitant to buy Bose for years because I felt like there were better to be had for less. Since I've started using these I understand why they are so popular. Light and quiet, they are perfect for long flights.

Overall, this is an excellent product. I wish there was more bass boost ability, but if I really wanted more bass then I would purchase other headphones focused on it. The noise cancelling function is great and blocks out noise really well. These are a really great pair of headphones and they are so comfortable and cute!
