They did not have good noise cancellation. I work with very loud equipment and whomever I spoke with could hear a tunnel sound and very loud static in the background.

Hello, the Bose QC45's have a best-in-class combination of noise cancelling performance and premium comfort, plus proprietary acoustic technology for deep, clear audio with adjustable EQ so you can tune your music to your liking
It is very normal to hear a static sound when in very loud environments with your headphones.

I got this headphones expecting a better sound quality from my airpods pro, having on mind the bose are over the ear headphones and airpods just being earbuds. The sound quality on the bose is quite better but not as good for being headphones. Same with the noise cancellation, airpods despite being earbuds its way better suprresing the sounds from the exterior

Honestly I wanted to like them. They are sleek and feel light and good. The problem I have with them is that you cannot charge them while you use them. This is a pretty big oversight. Why would they make them NOT work while plugged in? That's a terrible feature. One so bad that I just boxed it back up and in about 10 minutes I will go return them and buy the slightly higher priced Sony version.

I really enjoy the sound quality, but I have to constantly unpaired from my laptop or phone because stop playing music even with full battery and volume is up. I have to use my laptop or phone to play/pause music instead of the headphones because is not in the instructions provided. Not very impressed with the noise canceling feature my phone ear buds do that way much better.

      Hi there,

It's great to hear that your enjoying the sound quality. If you have your laptop and phone connected at the same time you can switch between the two using the power/Bluetooth slide switch (https://bose.life/36rkttt). To get the best from the noise cancelling make sure the headphones are adjusted cover your ears and leave no gaps.

It was a hard a pick between bose and sony xm4s. I tried them both for a few hours and concluded to return sony. I cant explain in audio terms what my ears preffer, best way i can describe that sony headphones sound profile too "aggressive" for my liking.

"Noise-Cancelling Bliss for Travel: The Bose QC45

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As an avid headphone user who travels frequently, noise cancellation and comfort are two of the most important features I look for. The Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones have become my go-to pair thanks to their exceptional active noise cancelling abilities and plush comfort that's perfect for long trips. From the moment I put them on, the noise cancellation impressed me. It completely blocked out the loud engine noises on my flight and created a peaceful quiet zone around me. The silence allows me to relax or focus on work without distractions. Even when walking on busy streets, the QC45 headphones zone out the traffic, conversations, and other urban chaos surprisingly well. Audio quality is another big plus. Music sounds clear and balanced, with a nice sense of spatial imaging that adds airiness to orchestral tracks. Bass has sufficient punch to give beats real drive without muddying the mids. Podcast voices and dialogue in shows also sound natural and crisp at low to moderate volumes. For the ANC headphones category, these rank among the better-sounding ones I've tried. The soft, plushy leatherette ear cups hug my ears in a gentle embrace – something you appreciate over long listening sessions. I can wear them for 3-4 hours without fatigue or sweating. The headband doesn't apply too much pressure at the crown either. The buttons for controlling music, calls, volume and ANC modes are conveniently positioned and easy to locate by touch. In terms of usage, the QC45 headphones work equally well wired or wireless. I rely on the Bluetooth connection to my phone and laptop most of the time to avoid hassling with cables. Battery life hits the claimed 24 hours with ANC on so I can forget about recharging for days of travel. When it does run low, quick charging is pretty quick – 10 minutes gives you close to 2 hours of use. As an frequent video caller, I’m also satisfied with call performance – my voice sounds clear to recipients without picking up too much ambient noise. The Aware Mode is also useful when I need to chat with a seatmate or flight attendant without removing the headphones. Overall, as a frequent traveler who wants his music uninterrupted by loud environments, I’m blown away by the Bose QC45’s noise cancelling prowess and enjoy the comfortable, balanced sound. The nearly $330 price tag feels easily justified by performance and design quality that will satisfy for years to come. These are an easy recommendation for frequent work travelers like myself.

      Hello,

It's fantastic to hear of your impressions of the audio quality, but am sorry to hear you've had issues with the battery draining when turned off. The QC45 have a battery life of up to 24 hours on average, and drain should be minimal when powered off.

If you experience any issues pertaining to battery life, please try to unpair the headphones from your media device, then establish a new connection. Check the firmware of the headphones is up to date and ensure the power switch is in the off position when not in use.

The bass sound wasn’t there. Even after the EQ adjustment. In the first place I shouldn’t have to adjust anything. The head phones sounds ok in a perfect world. But once your listening to your music, it was a different experience. Especially through YouTube music. Maybe this head set is better suited for a different application.

Bose ruined my 10 hour flight

I purchased these QC45 for a 10 hour flight to Hawaii. About 6 hours into the flight the power went out. Thought it was strange that the battery only lasted 6 hour especially since I had the Bluetooth off and was using the 3.5 mm cable. When I got to my hotel in Hawaii I charged the QC45 fully and still no power. Called Bose from my room and that are sending me a replacement 6-8 weeks from now. That is not much help because I still had to fly home 10 hours without my $330 QC45. Customer service lady said that I had stored them to long and that is why they don’t work. Does Bose think I am stupid? I have a pair of QC2 and my mother in-law has the QC45 that they only use once a year on flights. Very, Very, Very disappointed with Bose, I have 6 different Bose products in my house had have always been a fan. Will never my Bose again, they ruined my long flight.

      Hello,

Thank you for writing about your experience with the QC 45 headphones.

I'm sorry to hear you experienced poor battery life. For reference you should be expecting around 22 hours of playback from a full charge so you did the right thing getting in touch with Bose support to seek an exchange. Remember, if you've only just purchased the product from a store you also have the option to return to the store to seek an exchange (which can be faster in some instances.)
