Q35 Noise Cancellation was 100% better

I wore out my Q35s until the pads popped open at the seams. They lasted for 4 years with frequent use. As a person with ASD, the ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) is the first priority followed by sound fidelity and the Q35 had that. I could shut out the world for a few blissful moments. The Q45 is a complete disappointment when it comes to ANC. The "quiet" mode is no better than the Q35 ANC "low" settings. The sound fidelity and comfort are similar to the Q35. The battery life and charging port are better than the Q35. However, if you are getting these just for the noise cancellation you may want to try these out in a noisy area first.

    Horrible customer service experience

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had a terrible experience, I bought these headphones after reading tons of reviews and testing them out in store. They were great at first, but a few months later, the audio in the right ear keeps cutting in and out randomly. I've only used them about 10 times and only in the car travelling to block out my cat's meowing. Other than that, they stay in the case. There is no way I caused the damage, and they must have a defect. I tried to exchange them for a pair that isn't defective and best buy told me they can't exchange them for another pair or give me store credit or anything. I don't normally write reviews, and I don't like causing conflict, but they were a huge splurge for me and I paid $330 for crappy headphones that stopped working after a few months! So i'm out $300 and no useable headphones. So if you buy these, be warned the return policy is only 15 days and if they are defective and stop working after that time period, you are out of luck and out $300!

    Builtin Microphone Is None Existent

I first thought maybe i got a defective headset because my microphone would connect to an app but would barely pick up my voice.Contacted BB they said i was out of the 14 day replacement and out of luck got in touch with bose sent my head phones back and they sent new ones still same microphone issue's researched more online and found others have this issue as well and is common to these headsets. I got these for using zoom and my phone however now i have to use a external mic on my pc.I've been running into other connection issue's with the headset staying connected.Plus the first time you use the headphones you have to download there Bose App on your phone and enable your location in order for the headset to work. tldr;microphone doesnt work on headsets, buggy connection, download bose app, enable gps location on setup

      Hello,

It sounds like you do not have the correct audio input source selected on the computer. This could be either with the Zoom app, or with the Windows audio inputs screen. When pairing a QC45 via Bluetooth, you'll see a couple of different options, the headphones need to be set to "headset mode" when you use them for VOIP calls, not "headphone mode". If you have any difficulties with this, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us (https://bose.life/3RMX5df), and we'll be happy to go over the setup with you.

      Kind regards,

Have had these a couple years. Sounds quality is great. But these are only used a handful per year, and the material in the ear cups have torn. Unfortunate that such a high price point and expected quality didn’t last. Our beats lasted longer.

      Hi Jess,

It's great that you love the sound quality from the earbuds. The cushions for our headphone's are made from a protein leather, which can naturally deteriorate over time and should be wiped down with a lightly damp cloth and stored in the case with the silca gel they came with.

You can also reach out to us https://bose.life/38DNELy for help order new ear cushions.

    If the mic breaks goodluck

I bought this headset around a year ago, and the mute switch on the microphone wire broke. No big deal i thought ill order a 3rd party replacement. Both of the 3rd party replacements are low quality and im not well heard anymore like iw as with the OEM microphone. Reached out to bose for a replacement and they are out of stock, wont even let you purchase one. Connected to bluetooth and theres no option to utilize bluetooth without the noise canceling function and the mic on the headphones is actually terrible.

      Hey there,

I'm surprised you're having trouble with the headphones. The included cable with these headphones doesn't have a microphone built in and is only meant to act as an alternative way to connect the headphones to your devices. You can switch the noise cancelling on the headphones to aware mode to let you hear your surroundings during a call.

We'd love to help you if you need it, please reach out to us (https://bose.life/38DNELy) for help.

Sound went out on one side after six months

Sound went out intermittently at first on one side then went out completely. Eleven months after the initial purchase the volume dropped to half volume on the other audio channel. I forgot to fill out the warranty card so I'm screwed. They were babied not mishandled. They were great for the first several months but not worth the price for the limited use.
