I think i ended up just getting bad headphones or something because the left ear would stop noise cancelling and i couldn't hear my music that well in that ear. By the 2nd day of use the left ear would sound like i was in a wind tunnel. i would take the ear bud out and put it back in and it would go away but then come back a minute later. it got so bad i had to do that over and over every other minute. i have smaller ears and was hesitant due to the size but it says QuietComfort so i was hoping they would be light enough. 2 hours in my ears were sore which led to a small headache. i ended up just returning them. for that price i was expecting the best headphones ever and i am just sadly disppointed.

I'm sorry to hear you had trouble with your new earbuds and ended up returning them. From how you are describing this, and as you mentioned having small ears, it sounds like the issues you experienced are related to the fit of the headphones. If you wanted to try them again in the future I'd love to help!
The earbuds have in-ear detection features that you can set in the Bose Music app, one of these being Auto-Transparency. With this enabled, when you take out the right ear, the left will go to full transparency mode and not cancel noise. If your earbuds were not sitting correctly in the ear, this could be activated and stop noise cancellation. To stop this happening, either disable this setting in the Bose Music app, or make sure the earbuds are creating a comfortable seal in your ears.
