Most likely Apple's doing. The call quality and using Siri does not work well with the Mic. Sound quality is much better with the Air Pod Pros.

Quiet in Music, Poor in calls

I have tried making it work again but no luck. This sucks saying they are only 6 months old.

If you close the lid the music shuts off! It disconnects the ear buds, how am I supposed to use them while keeping the case open nearby??? Use them while exercising, no. Walking around, no. Also, there is a voice assist option that you are unable to turn off, so you are unable to turn the volume up or down without accidentally turning this on which interrupts your music. Good sound quality, very comparable to apple airpod pros. So not as unique as Bose products normally are.

If you have both earbuds outside of the case, you can certainly shut the lid of the case without interrupting the playback. The only case scenario where this would happen would be if you have the right earbud in the case and only using the left. The right earbud passes on the signal to the left, so this would always need to be active.
In our latest firmware update v2.0.7, we've added the ability to toggle off the voice assistant trigger. You can update them through the Bose Music app, or by visiting https://btu.bose.com on a computer and connecting them with the USB cable.
