They just didn't give me the oomph that mh old Bose earbuds gave. The sound was super far away, and when on calls I needed to raise my voice quite loudly so thag others could hear me. Did like the battery life and charge rate as well as the sound options. Sadly not for me.

    Terrific Bose Quality Earbuds

With the Bose QuietComfort Ultra, Bose lives up to their reputation for high-quality sound devices. The sound quality is unparalleled when I compare it to the last 5 or 10 earbuds I've owned. It Is clear, crisp, and has amazing bass (how sweet the sound). My first impression after listening to them was that I didn't want to take them off, I loved the sound. As per the 'quiet' part of the name, it may refer to noise canceling, which lets you enjoy the sound even at lower volumes without hearing the outside world. In a parking lot just a couple hundred feet from a busy interstate, as soon as I put on the second Bose earbud, it got very quiet, and I did enjoy a Netflix show. Separately from that, I used these earbuds during a video conference and it completely blocked out the sound of a loud wall air conditioner. On my Samsung phone, it automatically suggested downloading the app that goes with these earbuds, "Bose Music," which I did, and I let it introduce me to how these earbuds work - I recommend downloading that app. If you need to re-pair the Bluetooth connection, there’s a button you press and hold on the back of the charging case while the earbuds are inserted. I also suggest going to the support website linked on the box and downloading the manual (at least skim it). Another thing about Bluetooth connectivity is that you can only connect to one device at a time (it seems to remember multiple devices), whereas some other earbuds offer a multi-device connection. It announces the device name you’re connected to when it powers up, which is helpful if you’re not sure which device is connected. They rest in the ears very comfortably. The default size earpieces were perfect for me, but there were two other sizes because not everyone's ear is the same size. They are very comfortable, and if you get them in correctly (with the right size ear fitting), they hold very well, which means I can go for a walk (or on the treadmill) without worrying about chasing after an earbud if it falls out and rolls away. A USB Port charges these Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds on the charging case (which, of course, holds a charge for charging the earbuds while away from power sources). The light is orange while charging and white when fully charged. When you open the lid, a light inside slowly flashes blue when Bluetooth pairing is active and otherwise indicates the charging status of the earbuds themselves (separate from the case). On one occasion, the right earbud did not turn on; however, inserting it back into the case and then removing it seemed to fix that. I'm very happy with these earbuds, and plan to regularly carry them in my pocket even though it is a larger case than i'm used to for true wireless earbuds.

This is the second pair i have purchased from Best Buy. I appreciate the quality of the product, have owned numerous pairs, and all have ended up being returned as defective. This pair as the last, worked well for a short period of time, then one Bud will go berserk and not work. Will return this pair and give them one more try.

People I called complained of excessive noise in background. The music was superb, though. I wonder if this is due to the fact the box indicates the buds were made for the Iphone but would work with Android as well. Mic issue is always a pain, regardless of brand.

Amazing earbuds with ANC and Immersive Audio!

Coming from the Bose QC35 Headphones, followed by the Bose QC Earbuds, I was really excited when these were announced. Coming from the first gen earbuds, the form factor on these is closer to the 2nd gen. They sit great in the ear and there are multiple tips included from L to Small to fit a wide range of ears. Once you think you have the fit you want, you can run the check in the app to make sure you have a good seal. These are very lightweight and extremely comfortable to wear for hours at a time. The fin that runs along one edge helps stabilize them and keep them firmly in place without being obtrusive. Of course, Bose is legendary for the ANC and these live up to the reputation. They are highly effective at blocking outside noise in full ANC mode, but you can adjust how much ANC you want in the app. Going for walks or doing yard work, it's helpful to not completely drown out the world. It's just nice to have full control over what you want out of your headphones. And the sound is incredible! Signature lows that Bose is known for, but clear and precise highs and mids make these great for listening to all types of music. You can also adjust the EQ or rely on the headphones to use their algorhythm to give you the perfect audio experience. Speaking of sound, let's talk about Immersive Audio. You can leave this off, put it in Still mode or let it move with you. It widens the sound stage and is a great new feature. Listening to music or watching movies and hearing the sound move as you move your head is really cool and adds a whole new dimension to listening. Phone calls were clear on both ends and a big improvement from my 1st gen buds. Overall, I have zero complaints about these earbuds. They have a premium design and feel with killer sound quality (audio and phone). ANC is outstanding as always with Bose and the case is a great size and shape for throwing it into a backpack, purse or even your front pocket. You get 6hrs on full charge with ANC active (4hrs if using Immersive Audio) and the case holds 3 full charges. 20min gets you 2hrs worth of listening time. These are going to go down as one of the best earbuds of 2023, if not the best. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a new pair of earbuds with ANC. Is it worth upgrading if you already have the Bose QC Earbuds 2? That's up to you and your wallet. There's definitely some upgrades here and the immersive audio experience is amazing. Coming from the Gen 1 earbuds, this is a big upgrade and I would say it's definitely worth it!

Over the years, I’ve tried earbuds and headphones from all sorts of other manufacturers and none of them have come close to Bose in sound quality and effective noise cancelling. The Bose ones have also been the most reliable ones as far as maintaining the Bluetooth connection, standing up to dust and dirt, and keeping a working rechargeable battery for years. I hope I haven’t jinxed them, because I’m super happy to get my hands on these latest Bose Ultra earbuds. For the few days I’ve used them so far, they’ve exceeded my expectations. It was super easy to get these connected to my phone and working. I was able to start using them without reading any quick start guide or loading the Bose Music app. Afterwards, however, I installed the app and was able to look at all the settings, adjust things, and read some of the documentation and tips. The app has an “earbud seal test” option which, in case you aren’t sure, lets you know if the earbuds are sealed properly. These earbuds also have silicone “stability bands“ (separate from the ear tips) that help them fit more securely in the ear and seal better. To me, this really makes a big improvement in how they sound and how well they stay in when I’m moving around. These are the first earbuds I’ve had with “immersive audio” which is apparently a new Bose innovation. There are a couple of modes with it: Still (you’re sitting still) and Motion (you’re up moving around). It’s really pretty cool. Somehow it adjusts the music, so it sounds more like it’s in front of you coming out of speakers instead of the usual earbud sound. It’s kind of hard to describe, but once I heard it, I thought “oh, this is really nice.” The difference between the two modes is fairly subtle, so I’ve just set it on Motion even if I’m working at the desk. One thing that surprised me, though, is that the earbuds can apparently only be actively connected to one device at a time. You can pair to multiple devices and manage those devices in the app under “source,” but only one can be actively connected at a time. I can certainly live with the limitation, but I did expect that you’d be able to connect to at least your phone and one other device at the same time. Still, though, these are the best earbuds I have, and all the others are going into the drawer. The noise cancellation, the immersive audio, and just the overall quality of the sound makes these far and away the best earbuds I’ve had the pleasure of using.

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Earbuds are in a class by themselves when it comes to sound and noise reduction. In the box I was supplies with a combination of ear tips and stability bands each of small, medium and large so I could use any combination to make sure they comfortably fit my ears. Also, it seems that the combination of the ear tip and the stability band make the seal on my ears even better than with just an ear tip by itself. I found them to fit well and stay in my ear better than any I have used before. They also did not seem to make my ears feel hot like some. The USB-C cable (A to C) is somewhat short, 12 inches, but at least it has a USB-A on the charger block side since most of us still have more of those blocks laying around. The earbuds arrived with 80% charge and charged to 100% quickly. I have used them several times including mowing my yard for 45 minutes and the charge is still at 100%. I also like how they let you know how much battery is left when you put them in your ears. They say these earbuds have world-class noise cancelling and sound which analyzes your ears adapts the sound and noise cancelling. I believe it since the sound is amazing and even more so in the immersive audio mode. The noise cancelling is second to none. I love that I can mow my yard and listen to music at a lower volume that will not damage my ear drums and still not hear the mower hardly at all. My experience is that most noise cancelling ear buds require the volume to be turned up about 75% or so when I mow to be able to really hear the music well over the mower noise. The volume on these QuietComfort ear buds can be down low below 50% and still hear the music well over the mower noise. That is worst case, though. I can listen to music while other have the TV blaring and not hear the TV at all. When I want to listen into the room, I just press the stem on the earbud for a second until it says it's in Aware mode and then I can hear everything around me including the TV. I have not had the Bluetooth cut out at all with these either which I have sometimes with using other devices with my iPhone. These earbuds are amazing in all categories.

      Hello,

Thanks for leaving your thoughts on the QC Ultra Earbuds! Poor sound quality can generally be attributed to poor fit. The QC Ultra earbuds tips build on what was introduced by the QC Earbuds II; a series of comfortable fitting earbuds, and stability bands that enhance placement, and create a stable platform for the buds in the ear. The included Fit test in the app helps ensure you have achieved the best possible fit, for comfort and audio reproduction.

First Bose product. Not impressed. Horrible. Purchased in December 2023. Within 2 months the left earbud was mostly just static. Today, june of 2024, the right earbud has now decided to sound like static. No matter what volume level, or sound setting i use in the Bose app, every thing is now static. Ive not even used these very much. Save your money and go buy some budget buds. Got some cheap 15 dollar buds that these actually were meant to upgrade, which are now being used to replace these. These are some of the most complete earbuds that Ive found. Air Pods Pro 2 fell out of my ears too but sounded great. Sony’s XM5’s battery life was too short and were way to bulky in my ears but also sounded great. Quiet Comfort Ultra fits and sits comfortable in my ears. Battery life is unmatched. I dint have to chatge them every night and i wear them all night as i work overnights in a loud warehouse. The noise canceling is top tier, best that I’ve tried and you see the forementioned earbuds that also have noise cancellation. Even better thabvthe Bose Quiet Comfort 2. If you already have the BQC2 theres no need to upgrade though. Theres not much of a difference in sound quality. Now the fit is what i love. The wing tips hold these earbuds in place. You can run, work out, treadmill or what have yoh without fear of them falling out. Mine fit perfectly right out of the box but you have many ear cushion sizes and also wing sizes so a great fig is almost guaranteed! Not bulky at all, set your Bose signature sound and grove on with any genre. The EQ lets you put your own twist to their already premium sound. If anyone complains about bass or volume needs a new phone bc it’s definitely your phone and not the buds atp! Hands doen these are THE BEST EARBUDS ON THE CURRENT MARKET as of February 2024!

Too little of a refresh that doesn't fix issues

While Bose has been a prominent audio player for years now, they seemingly don’t release upgrades to their headphone products quickly. The yearly refresh cycle that other companies use is more like a two or three year cycle, generally, with Bose. That changed when they announced the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds, looking to refresh last year’s QuietComfort II earbuds. Is this refresh worth your time? Let’s dive in. One of the (and almost only) new features of the Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds is the implementation of spatial audio. This technology creates an immersive, three-dimensional soundstage that enhances the overall listening experience. While the idea of spatial audio isn’t new, Bose’s version is and it is a unique experience. While watching shows on any devices with the spatial audio turned on, the earbuds certainly created a better soundstage like having a dedicated theater system around. That said, most people probably won’t be using this feature too much, especially for standard music and podcasts when on the go. Speaking of on the go, Bose is renowned for its industry-leading noise-canceling technology, and the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds continue this tradition. The ANC on these earbuds is highly effective, providing an exceptional level of isolation from external noises. Whether you're in a bustling city or a noisy commute, the ANC ensures that you can enjoy your music or calls without interference. For me, this is the best of the best, and if you’re after the most isolation from the outside world these deliver. True to Bose's reputation, the sound quality on the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds is excellent. The audio is well-balanced, with clear highs, rich mids, and deep, punchy bass. Their profile is generally a bit warmer than clinical sounding higher end earbuds, but that delivers a solid profile that is good for everything. The build quality of the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds is exceptional. The use of metal accents that the Ultra gets not only adds a touch of premium aesthetics but also contributes to the durability of the earbuds. The materials used in construction instill confidence in the product's longevity. The case also feels upgraded from last year’s QCII. Wearing earbuds for extended periods is a common concern, but the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds address this with a design that prioritizes comfort. The earbuds fit snugly and securely in the ears, making them suitable for prolonged use without causing discomfort. They’re some of the most comfortable around, as was the case for the QCII. So, for me that’s the end of the good, and as you can probably deduce most of what I mentioned was fairly identical to the QCII. That said, here are the things you need to know about the “updated” QC Ultras. One notable drawback is (still) the absence of a wireless charging case in the standard package. If you want or need this feature you will need to purchase a separate wireless case for an additional $50. In this day and age, this seems absurd at the $300 price point, especially when it was a major complaint about the QCIIs. Despite Bluetooth advancements, the connectivity of the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds remains a concern, reminiscent of the QuietComfort II. Just like my QCIIs, I have intermittent connection issues, problems when using a single earbud at a time, making them not feel so premium. I also think this is quite ironic considering these are premium earbuds, yet others at much lower price points have figured out connection on the software side of things. With a battery life of 5.5 hours, from my usage, the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds fall short compared to some competitors offering longer usage times on a single charge. This is also zero improvement from the QCIIs which seems like an oversight. One of the biggest shortcomings, though, is the lack of multipoint connectivity. I’ve grown accustomed to this feature on other wireless earbuds, and Bose still won’t offer it. It has been mentioned as a potential addition for future software updates, but the company also said that about the QCII and here we are a year later with no update in sight. The QuietComfort Ultra earbuds, while offering a few improvements, may not present a compelling reason for existing owners of the QuietComfort II to upgrade. For me personally, it’s hard to even think about using the Ultra vs the QCII as my pair of QCII has already been implemented across all of my devices. Moveover, the same issues that I dislike about the QCIIs are still present. All that said, the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds deliver an exceptional audio experience with top-notch noise cancellation, impressive spatial audio, and a premium build. However, the lack of certain features like a wireless charging case out of the box and persistent connectivity issues may make me not recommend these to most people, unless you can live without the features mentioned above.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

      Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts on the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds. It's great to hear you were a fan of various aspects of the buds. Spatial Audio is a fantastic new addition to the product, which certainly adds a new dimension to the listening experience. It's exciting to also hear of your continued enthusiasm for our Active Noise Cancellation technology and sound quality of the buds.

It's disappointing to learn you had experienced issues with intermittent disconnections. That certainly isn't expected behavior of the product and not something that should be of concern during use. To mitigate that, I recommend factory resetting the buds, then establish a new connection. This renews the connection and should remove the possibility of bugs. See instructions here: https://bose.life/qcufr.

You can expect an average of up to 6 hours of playback on one charge of the buds, but the inclusion of the charging case gives you an additional 3 charges totalling 24 hours of playback overall! The great news is to fully charge the buds in the case takes only 1 hour, and if you're eager to get back to listening, you can get 2 hours playback from a quick 20 minutes charge.

Thanks again for your feedback, and thanks for giving the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds a try.
