I am glad to hear that you love the great sound of your QuietComfort Ultra earbuds, but sorry you put them in your washer. These earbuds are not waterproof, they can withstand water splashes but can't be submerged under water.

If you're having trouble on calls, make sure the earbuds' logo is angled down towards your mouth/chin for optimal mic pickup. They also have great sound quality. I also accidentally dropped them through the elevator shaft from the 5th floor to the basement and they still work!
