Best noise cancelling ear buds I've ever tried

I have always enjoyed Bose products. This pair of ear buds is a big improvement over my older Bose ear buds. I am really liking the new design. The double insulated ear bud is something new that I have never seen before. There is the typical tip that goes into your ear canal, then there is a larger piece of rubber that seals off the outside part of the ear bud. There are multiple sizes for both, but they fit me perfectly right out of the box. The ear bud plays a tone and tests the fit by playing the tone every time you insert them. I have used them in the office to listen to music while I work. I only keep one in my left ear and answer the phone with a headset on my left. I do put it back in the charging case during my lunch, but I think it would make it through the day without any trouble on a single charge. The range is probably the best of any ear buds I’ve ever used. I can walk out into our shop and leave my phone at my desk. The range in our building is probably close to 100’. If you have the Bose app on your smartphone you can make changes through the app. The modes you can change either by press and holding the earbud until you hear the next mode. There is Quiet, Aware & Immersion. If you use Aware, you can hear everything going on around you. The microphones allow you to hear everything around you. The other 2 modes are different levels of noise cancelling. The app allows you to see the state of charge for each earbud, change sources or adjust the EQ among other things. The EQ options are Bass Boost, Bass Reducer, Treble Boost or Treble Reducer. There is also a slider for Bass, Mid and Treble that you can adjust. There is an immersive audio setting that allows you to set it to still, motion or off. This adds depth to your music. If you play still and turn your head it sounds like the music changes where it is coming from. It is kind of a cool effect. There is a shortcut function that allows you to change the shortcut between cycling through modes, change immersive audio or access your voice assistant. There are a bunch of other things on the app, but those are the main things. I am very impressed with the noise cancelling function of these ear buds. When out walking along the road, I can barely hear vehicles driving by. I use them when mowing the lawn. I can hear my push lawnmower, but it is very quiet. Today while mowing the lawn my wife was yelling behind me not realizing I had my noise cancelling earphones on. I couldn’t hear her at all. The sound quality is excellent. My only minor complaint is that the touch controls are not perfect. Sometimes it takes me a couple of tries to pause the music or answer a call. Playing music generally works fine, but there is a 2-3 second delay from the time I press play. I have gotten used to that. The volume up and down works very well. I can adjust it up or down a little bit at a time.

They were great for a month. Then, slowly started to not hear out of one ear. Followed cleaning instructions on website. Didn't work. They are too expensive to not work after a little more than one months use.

Without a doubt it was the worst purchase I made, I tried all the sizes but it didn't fit and after a few movements it fell out of my ear, unstable Bluetooth connection, I regretted buying it.

Hi Wendell - if your QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds don't fit securely, we do sell alternate sizing kits (XS and XL) that might fit you better. Also, try rebooting your mobile device, as this can stabilise the Bluetooth connection. TL;DR: These earbuds are amazing! They sound great, have the best noise cancellation I've ever heard, and they actually fit my ears and stay in, even during vigorous activity. Plus, they have fantastic battery life. The only downside is the design, which is a bit dated for 2023. The charging case also seems cheap and doesn't have wireless charging. Detailed Review: I've tried a lot of different earbuds in my time, but I've always had to buy custom tips to get them to stay in my ears. My current earbuds are held in place by the tips alone, and it's a terrible experience. I've even had to resort to using two different pairs of earbuds, one for everyday use and one for physical activity. That all changed when I got these Bose earbuds. They fit perfectly! They stay in my ears without any custom tips, and they sound amazing. The noise cancellation is also top-notch, and I can even pipe in ambient noise if I want to. I've used these earbuds on both my Android and iPhone, and the experience has been great. The only thing is that you can't pair them to both devices at the same time using just Bluetooth. You have to use the Bose Music app on your iPhone to set them up first. Once they're set up, you can pair them with other devices, but you'll need to use the iPhone app to manage the connection. What I mean by this is, you can't just pair them to any device once they've been associated with the Bose Music app. Once you add a new source (pairing them to another device) then they work like any old Bluetooth connection. As for build quality, the earbuds themselves seem great, but the case is a bit flimsy. It's made of plastic and has a rattle if you tap on it. Luckily the case can be purchased separately so if they do brake I'm not out of luck. The earbuds themselves also have a bit of an old-fashioned design. But none of that really matters, because these earbuds are simply amazing. Overall, I'm extremely happy with these Bose earbuds. They have everything I'm looking for in a pair of earbuds: great sound, noise cancellation, and a comfortable fit.

      Hi Angel,

I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy using the earbuds. With noise cancelling technology you will find that continuous sounds will be dramatically reduced compared to not wearing the buds and the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds excel at doing this. If you find that the noise cancellation effect is not working for you, it could suggest that you may not have the best fit engaged with the eartips and the stability bands. Your buds ship with 3 different tips and 3 different bands so you can mix and match to get the best fit. Remember, not all ears are identical, you may need one size in one ear, but another size in the other. Use the Fit Check in the Bose Music app to check you have the best fit!

Still need a hand? Please don't hesitate to get in touch! You can find our details here: https://bose.life/3ET4mCs.

They sound nice. Wish they were a little bout louder. They also are sensitive so if you have a pet or child that brushes against your ear they will pause. Some times it doesnt always connect so you have to put back into case and then open case and put back into your ear for the connection to begin. the rubbers on the upper part of the bud feel like they will damage eventually due to the way you have to grab these out of the case. They look cool and the imersivee audo is impressive. You literally feel like your in your own world and can hear no other outside noise.

Hi Isaac, I'm happy to hear you like the sound and look of your QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, and have been enjoying the Immersive Audio options! Unintended contact with the touch controls might cause your music to pause, but this should happen rarely, if at all. If your Bluetooth connection appears inconsistent, then re-syncing the buds and case as you've described is one thing to try. Rebooting your smartphone is another thing I'd recommend. As an avid Apple user, I've relied on every iteration of AirPods, from the original to the latest AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, for my daily gym sessions and travel needs. However, I encountered a persistent issue with the AirPods Pro—they just wouldn't stay put during meetings, workouts, and especially travel. I needed a solution that offered both compactness and exceptional sound quality with noise cancellation. After experimenting with various options, I discovered the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones, and they've been a game-changer. Thanks to their innovative silicon wing design, once these headphones are snugly in place, they stay put no matter what. Plus, they're remarkably comfortable even during extended use. These headphones have become my ultimate travel essential, completely replacing my AirPods Pro. If you're seeking reliability, comfort, and top-notch sound, look no further than the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones.

The box is nice and small, well packaged, you get a USB-C to USB-A charge cable, 3 ear tips sizes, 3 stability bands, charge case, and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds. You twist lock the Earbuds in your ears to secure them and this is a great thing. You swipe up on either earbuds or swipe down to lower the volume, tap to pause/resume audio answer a call, double tap to skip next or end/decline a call, triple tap to skip back. Download the Bose music app to control/fine tune the noise canceling, base, or eq. The not so great about the charge case is no wireless charging, not a deal breaker but an inconvenience. The Base on the Earbuds is outstanding. Call clarity is great but at the loudest you may crave for a little more, not a deal breaker. Driving with the windows down the other party can hear all the wind noise (as with all Earbuds I have used) but your ability to hear the other party is perfect. Music is just perfect, you can adjust the EQ in the Bose music app to your liking and plenty of volume. Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are lightweight, great sound, and fit well in the ear. Plenty of battery.

The Best Noise Cancellation and Comfort

I have several brands of earbuds and over the ear headphones and I have always found Bose to provide the best combination of noise cancellation and comfort. The Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra Earbuds do not disappoint. In the box you get the earbuds, charging/storage case, a usb-a to usb-c charging cable and a "Fit KIt" which includes 3 sizes of ear tips and stability bands. I already had the Bose app installed on my phone. As soon as I opened the case the earbuds connected to my Pixel phone and to the Bose app. The first thing I did was try on the various ear tips and stability bands until I found the perfect combination. The earbuds are smaller and lighter than previous models. The Bose app provides numerous settings for customization. There are 3 modes. Quiet (highest level of noise cancellation), Aware (allowing in outside sounds) and Immersion (spacial sound). Equalizer settings include Bass Boost, Bass Reducer, Treble Boost and Treble Reducer. Shortcuts can be set on both left and right earbuds. You can cycle through Modes, change Immersive sound settings, switch connection between 2 devices or activate voice assistant. Tap the earbuds to play or pause audio. Taking out 1 earbud will also pause audio and stop noise cancellation in the other earbud so that you can hear conversation. Double tap for next track and triple tap for previous track. Sliding your finger up and down controls volume. You can also tap to answer a call, tap again to answer a second call and put the first caller on hold, and double tap to end the call. So far, in daily use, I have found the comfort and noise cancellation to be outstanding. The sound for voices in music, video and phone calls is very clear and natural sounding. Music has a lot of bass which I tone down using the equalizer. Immersive sound makes the music appear to be coming from all directions. But keep in mind that it does drain the battery faster. Bose states up to 6 hours per charge, but only 4 hours with immersive sound. The case holds enough power to fully recharge the earbuds 3 times. Now I do have a couple of gripes. My Pixel phone and the Bose app both show remaining power in each earbud but does not show the power remaining in the charging case. Every other brand shows that, but the Bose only has a light that turns amber when you need to charge. This is not very helpful. Also, all previous models of Bose headphones and earbuds told you exactly how much power remained as soon as you turned them on. these earbuds only tell you that the power is full or low. Overall, I am very happy with the Bose QC Ultra Earbuds. Great noise cancellation, excellent comfort, full rich sound, ease of operation and variety of customization. I would recommend this product to everyone.

In my professional opinion, this product would have received a 5-star rating due to its exceptional sound quality and noise cancellation capabilities. However, the outdated casing design and lack of wireless connectivity are significant drawbacks. It is surprising that this feature is still absent, given the current technological advancements. Despite these shortcomings, Bose continues to produce some of the best noise-canceling earbuds on the market, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit.
