Premium Noise-Canceling Bliss with a Few Drawbacks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra over-the-ear headphones in sleek black have long been synonymous with top-tier noise-canceling performance and audio quality. As a discerning audiophile and frequent traveler, here's my candid review of these headphones: Pros: Superior Noise Cancellation: Bose's reputation for best-in-class noise cancellation holds true with the QuietComfort Ultra. The headphones excel in drowning out ambient noise, making them perfect for long flights, noisy commutes, or simply enjoying your music in peace. Exceptional Comfort: The plush ear cushions and lightweight design make these headphones incredibly comfortable for extended wear. They don't exert excessive pressure on your head, and the ear cups provide an excellent seal without causing discomfort. Outstanding Sound Quality: Bose's sound signature is well-balanced, with clear highs, detailed mids, and a satisfying low end. Audio quality remains impressive even with noise cancellation activated, allowing you to enjoy your music, podcasts, or movies without compromise. Long Battery Life: The QuietComfort Ultra offers impressive battery life, providing up to 20 hours of playback with noise cancellation turned on. This longevity ensures you won't need to worry about frequent recharging during your daily routines or travels. Intuitive Controls: The headphones come with touch-sensitive controls on the ear cups, allowing you to adjust volume, pause/play, skip tracks, and answer calls with simple gestures. The controls are responsive and user-friendly. Built-in Voice Assistant: You can access your preferred voice assistant, whether it's Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa, with a single button press. This hands-free convenience is particularly handy for quick tasks while on the go. Cons: Premium Price Tag: While the QuietComfort Ultra delivers a premium listening experience, it comes with a premium price. It may not be within reach for budget-conscious consumers. Non-Collapsible Design: These headphones don't fold or collapse into a more compact form, making them less space-efficient for packing in smaller bags or cases. Micro-USB Charging: The use of a micro-USB port for charging feels dated, especially when USB-C has become the standard for many modern devices. Limited Customization: The Bose Connect app, while functional, lacks the extensive customization options that some competitors offer. Users who prefer to fine-tune their audio experience may find it somewhat limiting. Passive Sound Leak: At high volumes, sound may leak from the headphones, potentially bothering those around you in quiet environments. In conclusion, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones deliver a premium listening experience and outstanding noise cancellation, making them an excellent choice for audiophiles and frequent travelers. The comfort, sound quality, and battery life are standout features. However, the premium price tag and the lack of modern features like USB-C charging and collapsibility may be drawbacks for some. If you're willing to invest in top-notch noise-canceling headphones with a proven track record, the QuietComfort Ultra won't disappoint. They excel at what they do best—providing a serene listening experience in any environment.

Most Disappointing Headphones Ever
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never been more disappointed in headphones than I have been with these. They feel flimsy, though not as frighteningly fragile as the plastic Sony XM4 and XM5, but they never want to stay on my head, and they flop around like crazy when I pick them up. While I know that they sleep to conserve battery life when they are taken off, the feature is annoying, and it is probably the reason why I constantly experience lag when using them with my laptop. I wish I had bought the SONOS.

Lemon or just bad headphones?
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Either I got a lemon or these are very expensive junk. The microphone doesn’t work - so I can’t use them for zoom calls which is a big part of the reason I bought them. They also have a terrible battery life. My $60 headphones served me much better. I’m also really disappointed with Best Buy’s short return policy. It took me A little while to realize just how much I didn’t like these headphones. If they stood by their products the return window would be longer. I’m beyond disappointed with Bose and Best Buy both

Wish I stuck with Sony
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I lost my Sony headphones and decided to try these. Posted .I'm sorry to hear that your QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are disconnecting. If this happens, try rebooting your mobile device, which can fix temporary issues. for no reason. As for the headphones pausing unexpectedly, there is a chance this could be a Spotify issue (if you use Spotify). Close Spotify on all devices connected to your headphones, and then only stream Spotify from the device you want to use. Posted .Hello Ariel,
I am sorry to hear that you're not happy with your QuietComfort Ultra Headphones.
Please try to reset them in order to clear any errors:
1. If the USB charging cable or audio cable is connected to your headphones, disconnect it.
2. Connect a USB charging cable and charger to a power outlet. You can also connect the USB cable to a USB port on a computer that is powered on.
Note: Do not connect the other end of the cable to your headphones just yet.
3. On your headphones, press and hold the Power/Bluetooth button.
4. While continuing to hold the button, connect the USB-C cable to the left earcup. The Power light on your headphones will quickly blink twice.
5. Once connected, wait two seconds and then release the Power/Bluetooth button.
Tip: If your headphones don't respond after this, reset them a second time.

Thanks for leaving your recent review of the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds.
I'm sorry to hear you experienced intermittent disconnections during use. That isn't normal behavior as I'm sure you can imagine. The fact the same problem is occurring with the replacement, however, is cause for concern, as we certainly wouldn't expect lightning to strike twice in the same place, so to speak.
The good news is there are some troubleshooting steps you can try to remedy the problem. I'd recommend visiting this page to give them a try https://bose.life/4b5gtM0.

Posted .Thanks for reviewing the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, Christian! These headphones aren't primarily designed for gym use, partly as they have no official sweat or water resistance rating. Don't buy!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give zero stars if I could. The product is no where near as described in sound quality. But even before you get there, you'll have to fight with the product and your device to pair. The Bose app and customer service are of no help but they'll certainly insist you give them even more information and force you to go through all sorts of trouble shooting before telling you to return the product. Bose is relying on it's old reputation with this product. Don't be fooled. Shop elsewhere.

Top notch sound quality and sound erasing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my first pair of over the ear headphones (a competitor brand) around 5 years ago when my work/office situation changed. It took all of about a days worth of listening to the boss and a handful of coworkers chatter to make that purchase and I was in heaven, put the headphones on and I, didn’t have to listen to and be distracted by all that office chatter. Fast forward 5 years, new job, new office situation with 90% less chatter, but I still wear headphones or earbuds most of the day to listen to music and I’m thinking it’s time for an upgrade, but really how much better could ANC and sound quality with over the ear headphones possibly be now? Enter the Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra’s. Right off the bat.. WOW, what an upgrade. Out of the box simple setup, scan the QR code, install the app and done. The app and all the settings are pretty straight forward. A little quirk I found, I can’t find a way to change the mode name when setting them up, you seem to be stuck with the preset names, even when the top of the page says “name your mode”. For example I’d like to be able to create a mode call ‘Work Music’ and ‘Work Podcast’ but can’t seem to do it. I spent a lot of time doing A/B testing, trying to get my old competitors brand to sound as good as the Bose, and I couldn’t make it happen. With the Bose, the noise canceling is superior, the sound is superior, they are comfortable and I’ve been able to wear them most of the day at work. Battery life is huge, how huge I’m not sure, I haven’t run them down yet. After a day at work they went from 100 to 80%. Materials throughout are quality, soft on the head, soft around the ears (with and without glasses), and the case is nice. Even though you get used to which side is left and right by the buttons, it’s still nice to have the big L and R printed inside the earcups also. Immersive Audio is a double edge sword for me. With music it sounds good and makes it sound like the soundstage moves from between your ears to out in front of your face. The ‘Still’ setting that changes the soundstage as your rotate your head is also ‘cool’. The bad thing about immersive audio is it’s basically adding effects to the audio similar to reverb or a delay/echo. If you are listening to straight voice like a podcast or commercials, this is very noticeable and not great sounding. It’s also adding effects the recording engineer didn’t include on the recording. Having said that, I usually have it on with music, and turn it off for podcasts. One last downside, the built in sound effects and voice, like fingernails on a chalkboard, you’d think they could have found more pleasant sounds/voice. Hopefully they push out an update through firmware. Bottom line is, these Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra’s are top notch with a solid 5 stars.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The power switch on the QC35s was much better. The power “button” on this model is awful. Doesn’t turn on / off reliably, so forget trying to take a quick meeting easily. They’ll never turn on right away or pair easily. So incredibly disappointed. I genuinely wanted to love these and I just can’t. They’re not reliable enough and the noise cancelling isn’t anything mind blowing.

Such a disappointment
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is disappointing that Bose has gone so downhill over the years. They used to be the pinnacle for sound. These headphones are not a good product. The noise cancellation could be so much better, but because they fit oddly over the ears there never is a true ability to tune out noise. My next frustration is the connectivity. I have an iPhone and there are constant issues with the Bluetooth connecting to where I’m having to turn the headset on and off several times before they actually play sound. The battery life is not long at all. I tested them for 60 days and I will be returning them.

Posted .I'm very sorry to hear of your disappointment with the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones!
A full charge of the headphones will power them for up to 24 hours. If the Bluetooth connection seems to be poor, I would recommend rebooting your smartphone, as this can stabilise the connection. You can also try clearing the Bluetooth pairing lists on both sides, before setting up a new connection.
Lastly, our noise-cancelling headphones are designed to provide a seal around the ear, thus enabling the user to enjoy world-class noise cancellation. If you're unhappy with the noise cancellation you're getting, please contact our support team for any and all assistance: https://support.bose.com/s/get-help-landing-page?language=en_US.

Impressed with the Immersive Audio
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a great pair of headphones. I’ve been sticking to wireless earbuds lately because they’re convenient when working out, but you miss out on some sound quality with them. While I still prefer the earbuds at the gym since I have trouble keeping over-the-ear headphones on, this is a great option when I’m not at the gym. Setup was simple with their app, it basically connected the Bluetooth for you and its intuitive to use. There are only 2 buttons on the headset which I appreciate since it makes operation simpler to remember. You can connect two devices at once to the headset via Bluetooth when enabling Multi-point…I have my PC and mobile phone connected at once. I’m really impressed with the auto sleep function. Once you take the headphones off your head, they go into a sleep mode to preserve battery. When you put them back on, they wake up. From my experience so far, they seem to know the difference between being picked up and being put on your head (ears to be exact), so they won’t wake up just by moving them around. Also, if someone tries to talk to you while the headphones are on, if you pick up the right side to listen to them, it pauses audio. This is a nice feature to have, and the sleep function seems to do a good job at preserving battery. So if you use them regularly, you don’t really need to worry about turning them on and off. Now the immersive sound. I have an Atmos gaming headset for my PC games, and have a 5.1.2 Atmos home theater setup, so I definitely appreciate spatial sound. These seem to be on a different level with immersive sound. There are 2 options, Still and Motion. I really like the Still option. The sound moves between the headphones as if a concert is happening in front of you. It also seems to have a much richer sound when enabled. The Motion option is if you are moving, but so far I prefer Still mode. The side of the headphone has a touch sensitive volume slider. Its okay, not great. I’ve had some trouble getting it to change volume at times, and it works well other times. I like to control most of headphone settings from the App since its very easy, and better than trying to remember what buttons does what and how long to hold it, including switch between Immersive profiles. I don’t think anyone would regret getting a pair of these, they really do sound great.
