Very disappointed with this model, having both loved the QC35 and QC45, I wanted to upgrade and treat myself. Heinously poor sound cancelling capability (worse than my 45s) and sound quality that's really subpar. Not worth the money and disappointed after loving Bose for so long. The forced app usage and connectivity is another frustration but minimal compared to the poor blocking/quality of sound

      Hello Ariel,

I am sorry to hear that you're not happy with your QuietComfort Ultra Headphones.
Please try to reset them in order to clear any errors:
      1. If the USB charging cable or audio cable is connected to your headphones, disconnect it.
      2. Connect a USB charging cable and charger to a power outlet. You can also connect the USB cable to a USB port on a computer that is powered on.
Note: Do not connect the other end of the cable to your headphones just yet.
      3. On your headphones, press and hold the Power/Bluetooth button.
      4. While continuing to hold the button, connect the USB-C cable to the left earcup. The Power light on your headphones will quickly blink twice.
      5. Once connected, wait two seconds and then release the Power/Bluetooth button.
Tip: If your headphones don't respond after this, reset them a second time.

I'm sorry to hear that your QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are disconnecting. If this happens, try rebooting your mobile device, which can fix temporary issues. for no reason. As for the headphones pausing unexpectedly, there is a chance this could be a Spotify issue (if you use Spotify). Close Spotify on all devices connected to your headphones, and then only stream Spotify from the device you want to use. If that doesn't seem to apply, please contact our support team for further assistance: https://support.bose.com/s/get-help-landing-page?language=en_US. I bought my first pair of over the ear headphones (a competitor brand) around 5 years ago when my work/office situation changed. It took all of about a days worth of listening to the boss and a handful of coworkers chatter to make that purchase and I was in heaven, put the headphones on and I, didn’t have to listen to and be distracted by all that office chatter. Fast forward 5 years, new job, new office situation with 90% less chatter, but I still wear headphones or earbuds most of the day to listen to music and I’m thinking it’s time for an upgrade, but really how much better could ANC and sound quality with over the ear headphones possibly be now? Enter the Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra’s. Right off the bat.. WOW, what an upgrade. Out of the box simple setup, scan the QR code, install the app and done. The app and all the settings are pretty straight forward. A little quirk I found, I can’t find a way to change the mode name when setting them up, you seem to be stuck with the preset names, even when the top of the page says “name your mode”. For example I’d like to be able to create a mode call ‘Work Music’ and ‘Work Podcast’ but can’t seem to do it. I spent a lot of time doing A/B testing, trying to get my old competitors brand to sound as good as the Bose, and I couldn’t make it happen. With the Bose, the noise canceling is superior, the sound is superior, they are comfortable and I’ve been able to wear them most of the day at work. Battery life is huge, how huge I’m not sure, I haven’t run them down yet. After a day at work they went from 100 to 80%. Materials throughout are quality, soft on the head, soft around the ears (with and without glasses), and the case is nice. Even though you get used to which side is left and right by the buttons, it’s still nice to have the big L and R printed inside the earcups also. Immersive Audio is a double edge sword for me. With music it sounds good and makes it sound like the soundstage moves from between your ears to out in front of your face. The ‘Still’ setting that changes the soundstage as your rotate your head is also ‘cool’. The bad thing about immersive audio is it’s basically adding effects to the audio similar to reverb or a delay/echo. If you are listening to straight voice like a podcast or commercials, this is very noticeable and not great sounding. It’s also adding effects the recording engineer didn’t include on the recording. Having said that, I usually have it on with music, and turn it off for podcasts. One last downside, the built in sound effects and voice, like fingernails on a chalkboard, you’d think they could have found more pleasant sounds/voice. Hopefully they push out an update through firmware. Bottom line is, these Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra’s are top notch with a solid 5 stars.

The power switch on the QC35s was much better. The power “button” on this model is awful. Doesn’t turn on / off reliably, so forget trying to take a quick meeting easily. They’ll never turn on right away or pair easily. So incredibly disappointed. I genuinely wanted to love these and I just can’t. They’re not reliable enough and the noise cancelling isn’t anything mind blowing.

I would give zero stars if I could. The product is no where near as described in sound quality. But even before you get there, you'll have to fight with the product and your device to pair. The Bose app and customer service are of no help but they'll certainly insist you give them even more information and force you to go through all sorts of trouble shooting before telling you to return the product. Bose is relying on it's old reputation with this product. Don't be fooled. Shop elsewhere.

It is disappointing that Bose has gone so downhill over the years. They used to be the pinnacle for sound. These headphones are not a good product. The noise cancellation could be so much better, but because they fit oddly over the ears there never is a true ability to tune out noise. My next frustration is the connectivity. I have an iPhone and there are constant issues with the Bluetooth connecting to where I’m having to turn the headset on and off several times before they actually play sound. The battery life is not long at all. I tested them for 60 days and I will be returning them.

I'm very sorry to hear of your disappointment with the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones!

A full charge of the headphones will power them for up to 24 hours. If the Bluetooth connection seems to be poor, I would recommend rebooting your smartphone, as this can stabilise the connection. You can also try clearing the Bluetooth pairing lists on both sides, before setting up a new connection.

Lastly, our noise-cancelling headphones are designed to provide a seal around the ear, thus enabling the user to enjoy world-class noise cancellation. If you're unhappy with the noise cancellation you're getting, please contact our support team for any and all assistance: https://support.bose.com/s/get-help-landing-page?language=en_US.

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones have much improved upon a well established foundation within the QC Line. Comfort is a solid 10/10. Lightweight, snug and a pleasure to wear for long periods of time. The ear cups are very soft and create a nice seal around your ear. The weight of the headphones are very balanced, you don’t feel like you have to balance them on your head at all and they don’t give the slightest feeling that they will fall off should you look down, up or side to side. Battery life, 10/10. Just using them with none of the added features like noise cancelation, immersive audio etc, will get you about 24 hours of use, I averaged 23 hrs 20 minutes at medium volume. With noise cancellation alone, I averaged 18 hours and 40 minutes, and with Noise cancellation plus immersive sound I averaged 17 hours 10 minutes. This battery performance is top notch considering the features you are using. Sound is a 10/10… I mean, it IS Bose. You would fall in love with the normal sound from these headphones alone, then you tap into the immersive audio feature and use the app to activate the custom tune technology and we have a whole new level of listening nirvana. App performance, 10/10, Bose has always had a very good App integration from the beginning and nothing has changed. The app work well and is very responsive. Although it is not a new app developed for these new headphones, the integration is seamless as we have seen in the past that when new products are released, sometimes we have issues with the existing app, not an issue here. I would absolutely recommend these to a friend.

I've had a lot of different wireless earphones. Some with great sound but other issues. Some not so great sound with no other issues. And some that come close to being great on all fronts, but don't quite get there. The Bose Quietcomfort Ultras get it all right. The most important thing of course is the sound. And the best way I can explain it is that it's right. What I mean is it hits all the different aspects of sound in just the right way. Super crisp highs, powerful mids, and lows that are accurate and not overly boomy. It's exactly what I think the music, etc is supposed to sound like! And in the name is comfort and they definitely are. I have a rather large head and all my headphones have to be at the largest setting. The same goes here but the fit great. No ear pain at all. Almost forget they're on. The initial set up and connection was a breeze. For me that's connected to my S23+ that has my music collection. Connecting via Bluetooth was a breeze. And although not required the app is well worth it. Makes tweaking the sound and setting other features worth the download. We'll laid out and easy to use app. Another great feature that Bose does better than most is it's active noise cancelling. It's kind of hard to explain a lack of something unless you don't "hear" it. Ambient noise just disappears like magic. Battery life is claimed at 24 hours and although I don't see it reaching that often, the life is still excellent. If you reconnect to charge at least once a day I don't see it running out. Overall these are the best wireless headphones I've had. You get the perfect Bose sound, top of the line noise cancelling, great battery life, super comfort, with all the features you'll ever need in one package with a very nice case too. A must for audio enthusiasts!

I'm a huge Bose fanatic. In my house, I have 2 Bose soundbars and have purchased multiple over-the-ear and a few in-ear headphones. (Around 5-6 in total) I use the Bose QC45 headphones for my daily commute and when I go to the gym. I literally can't live without them and won't leave my house without them. I had to unfortunately return these headphones because Bose, for whatever reason, decided to make them smaller than their previous QC headphone installments. I gave this a one-star because I'm hoping someone at Bose sees this. Please, make them the same size as the previous QC headphones!

These have the best noise cancelling I’ve ever experienced. It is seriously next level and raises the bar for headsets in this price range. The sound quality is also fantastic. I don’t know how to explain it exactly other than that the music sounds “fuller” than my other headphones. The build quality is good and they have a couple of features that were new to me. One was the touch-sensitive volume adjustment rather than buttons; there’s just a raised line on the back of one earpiece and you slide your finger up or down to adjust the volume. The other was the way they pause what you’re listening to when you lift the earcups off of your ears. I really like not having to take any action to pause the music when I needed to have a quick conversation or something similar; I just lift the headphones off my ears and then the music resumes when I pop them back on. The weight and padding combine to make these plenty comfortable over long periods of time without squeezing the arms of my glasses uncomfortably. I do wish they were louder, not because I have any problem hearing anything, on the contrary, I wore them while mowing the lawn and the noise cancelling totally eliminated the lawn mower sound which allowed me to clearly hear my music. There are just some songs that I want to listen to loud enough to vibrate my teeth and that’s not an option with these. To be fair, I haven’t found any headphones that get as loud as I’d like in years, probably because no one wants to be responsible for my hearing loss. Overall, these are my new favorite headphones for good reason.
