I have tried for years to find earphones that had great sound, noise cancelling and were comfortable! The salesperson at Best Buy helped me figure out why this was such a challenge for me. I could not wear over-the-ear headphones for more than an hour or two without unremitting ear pain that would last a day! It turns out I have a small head and the weight of most headphones would cause them to drop and not sit correctly on my ears. With pressure on my ear in many cases the driver would make contact with my ear. I tried many models that were less expensive but nothing worked. I have dogs and teach online. Ear buds were good so my audience did not hear my dogs but I did. The Bose Quiet Comfort Ultras give me FINALLY a comfortable experience as well as superior sound quality and unsurpassed noise cancelling! There are 3 modes available : Quiet, Immersion and Aware. Even Aware I hear conversations nearby but still have great sound quality. I appreciate the bargain I got too from buying an Excellent Open Box model from Best Buy with the same warranty as New and a very hefty discount. I even got the beautiful blue color I wanted! I feel that silence like I am in a quiet room, that I only get with an over the ear, around the ear product. These were about the same price as the regular Quietcomfort model since they were an Open Box but the fit, comfort and sound were noticeably better. These are the FIRST headphones I can wear for hours. Yesterday I flew cross country. I traveled in total comfort: the noise cancellony gave me a peaceful relaxing flight and I hardly knew they were there. The Ultras were remarkably more comfortable than the regular quiet comfort and the sound amazing. These are worth every penny!

Less than a year of owning them right side became loose and finally as I was adjusting them the whole right headphone ripped off.

I purchased these headphones to switch from my airpod max. Here are the great, good, bad and terrible: Great - sound quality, case, weight and comfort. I have a large head and they fit perfectly with room to grow and can wear for hours on end at work. Good - multi device connections, bose application, style. I like the ability to connect to both my work and person phones. The application and setup is very user friendly. Good looking set of headphones that don’t look cheap. Bad - volume control, finger print magnet, sweat and oily ear cups. I am coming from fabric ear cups that seemed to hid sweat and oil better. When i place these on my desk ear opening down, they leave a oil residue that takes a few wipes to clean away (i realize this is my own problem but i do not wear any products on my face or hair). The volume control on the right ear cup is not precise. I for evey 1 click on my physical phone the headphones (when asjusted by the volume control on the device) skip 2-3 levels of volume. The black pair also attract a lot of fingerprints. Terrible - third party phone support, sound transparency, lowest volume is still toonloud for office use. We use a web based phone program in the office that has an application on my iPhone. When accepting calls ising my phone the headphones are not detected. I can get around this by accepting the call by pressing tjr power button on the right ear cup. The combination of poor sound transpancy and the lowest level of volume being pretty loud, these are not great in an office setting. TLDR: good heaphones if you are fine with some workarounds and can deal with some very nitpicky problems. 4/5

I love this Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra headphones! I usually don't like wearing over the ear headphones, from vary reasons(bulky, uncomfortable etc) but do i love this headphones. Seems that Bose knock it out the park with this model! I tried them even during my workouts at the Gym sometimes i was even forgetting i had them on (no problem during my running session) they grip so good and are so puffy and light. Material and built quality is Top Tier and the sound is immersive that makes you feel the music not just hear it. And talking about hearing, this headphones are champion in Noise Cancelation and Awareness mode too. With a single touch you can toggle thru the 3 different modes and i'm telling you they are all good! The connection it's strong and 30ft are more then enough for my need. I had it connected to my phone as well as my Tv and i was able to fast switch between them i taught that was pretty cool. I tried a phone call while outside on a normal walk and the person on the other end was contempt with the quality of the microphone. It is my first pair of OverTheEar headphone that i really like and i can see myself wearing them for a long time to come!

I've had them over a week now and they're good enough for me to come back and give a 5 star review here. I tried the xm4s, couldn't stand how they sounded after many eq attempts, tried the momentum 4s and loved those for music but they proved too uncomfortable to wear long term (the right ear driver jabbed into my right ear) And I tried B&W px7 in store, airpod max in store, bang olefson in store - all those were just kinda meh, in my opinion. I really think i prefer the ultras in every category, they might be the best all around over-the-ear blue tooths you can get right now. They check every box pretty solidly. I do prefer the sound of sennheiser momentums but it's a trade off i can accept, and the bose ultras do sound good too. I don't mean they good enough, I mean they sound actually good. But it's a unique good sound. I've never necessarily been a fan of the bose sound, not that I hated it, but I always considered it only good enough. It's its own vibe, I guess. But these, the ultras, this version of the bose sound, I actually like. I can say for sure these are more enjoyable to listen to than the QC35 II which I've used a ton. And there's the spatial audio, which I think some people are hating on. But I think it's fine and more or less pretty good. It enhances more often than hinders a thing, and it hasn't been my experience that it degrades any thing I've listen to. And I kinda like both of the spatial settings. The one that follows your movement - it's a little different than how apple does it, in that the sound stage still has a bit of float to it versus being glued in place, and in my opinion this creates kind of a positive effect when I'm bobbing my head along or just bouncing a bit walking down the sidewalk. As far as far as battery, ux, nc, weight and comfort...good, good, great, awesome and awesome Any other minor tech quirks i bet will get ironed out down the road, but that said, nothing has really bothered me personally [lastly, i apologize for hating on sony too hard, that was really uncalled for. honestly, if you really like sonys, great! - keep on rockin on]

Upon opening the box, these are pretty great headphones from initial impressions. Because they fold up, the case is pretty small and compact (and a hard shell, not a flimsy cloth bag). Inside, there is a small pocket to hold the included adapters for 2.5mm to 3.5mm and a USB-A to USB-C. The headphones themselves are high quality with solid build and metal construction, with no creaks whatsoever. Each side extends smoothly with the right amount of friction and resistance. The new feature is a slider on the bottom of the right ear cup that controls the volume. It works pretty well and quickly. Noise cancellation works pretty well in my testing, and sound quality is excellent, with deep bass and good mid/highs - typical Bose to have good sound. The Immersive Mode is a bit strange though. While it can provide either the typical ‘fixed’ Spatial sound or the head-tracking Spatial mode, the head-tracking is weird in that it “moves” with your head and isn’t instant. The best way to describe it is as if there is a speaker in front of you that is locked onto your face, and when you move your head, it takes about a half second for the speaker to reposition itself in front of you. The buttons on the right cup that control everything are mostly intuitive. The Bose app works as intended - you can set the different EQ as well as modes for noise cancelling. The two main issues I had with the device were the auto play/pause and pairing - sometimes when I would take the headphones off, or put them back on, they wouldn’t detect the change and either not resume playing or wouldn’t stop. For pairing, upon powering on sometimes it would not say it was connected, even after waiting up to 30 seconds. I am sure that these two could be fixed with a software update. All in all, these headphones deliver on the fundamentals of premium build quality, impressive sound/noise cancellation, and long battery life. It is just some of the more advanced features that seem to not be completely ironed out.

Just purchased these 3 days ago and I haven’t been able to keep them off. I’ve been using them for everything between my phone, tablet, laptop. Sound quality is crisp and clear. Noise cancellation works really well and is very impressive. Definitely blocks out noise when wanting to focus or just not be bothered with outside noise. The design is sleek. Headphones are very lightweight. Easy setup and pretty seamless with switching between devices. The carrying case is also a nice touch. There are tons of different options available depending on what you are looking for. These are definitely premium and cover all the bases. The Bose app is easy to use and customizable to your preferences for sound.

My daughter had Bose headphones previously and once again Bose hasn't failed to disappoint! They will turn off at random times and the ear cushions are falling apart! They will be returned!

Excellent fit and comfort. Noise cancellation is outstanding- I will sometimes use them at gym and no background sounds can be heard. My only nitpick is with the volume. They don’t seem to get very loud, even on max volume. Absolutely not a dealbreaker though.Battery life seems very close to the advertised duration. Lastly, connectivity has had zero issues- they connect and stay that way until you turn them off.

I have recently started going back into the office, but after working from home for 3 years, I can't stand all the noise in the office. I needed something to help me focus, and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones are just what I needed. These are my first noise cancelling headphones and I'm very impressed. HARDWARE: The build quality is excellent. The headphones fit nicely in the compact case that is provided. A nice touch they added is an image inside the case to show you the proper position the headphones should go in the case. The headphones are comfortable to wear, from the ear cups, to the padding against your head. USABILITY: The headphones have two buttons, one for controlling the music and audio modes and the other for power and phone connectivity. It's easy to switch audio modes, pause, change tracks, etc. There is a virtual slider on the ear cup for changing the volume. I really like how easy it is to change the volume using that slider without having extra buttons. SOUND QUALITY: The sound quality is excellent. I'm not a hardcore audiophile, but I can appreciate the sound quality is much better than the top tier ear buds I previously used. What I'm really impressed is with the noise cancellation. I didn't realize how much noise it would filter out. I tested it at work and the phone conversations were almost completely filtered out, whereas they used to drive me nuts. As i write this review I'm wearing the headphones so I can focus while my son is watching TV. FEATURES: The setup with the app was very easy and the app itself is great. By you have 3 modes configured by default: Quiet, Aware and Immersion. You can add or remove any that you want and you can customize the amount of noise cancelling, on a scale of 1-10. You can adjust the EQ using the app, I like to boost the bass. The only negative think about these headphones is the voice it uses for feedback, like telling you what device it's connected to or what mode you just switched to. It's just really horrible and hard to listen to. Fortunately you don't have to listen to it very often, but there are much better voice readers out there, so it's kind of disappointing. Ultimately, the voice doesn't affect the experience all that much. BOTTOM LINE: I am so glad I have these headphones when for when I go into the office, but I'll be using them for more than just noise cancellation. The audio quality is superior to anything I've had before, so I'll be reaching for these headphones next time I listen to music. I would definitely recommend these headphones.

Really superb sound. Excellent clarity in all ranges. Bass not overpower. ANC also great. Very comfortable. No connectivity problems with our LG C2 OLED TV that was an issue with previous Sony headphones that were returned. Decent app for making mods. Quite pricey however. Maybe should have tried the standard QC version, but these seem really worth the extra dollars.

Love these head phones I bought a pair for my wife and I. Her the rose gold and myself the black. I was decideding between these and the sony. I'm glad I chose these. I will start with the fact that the carrying case is very slim and easily stored for travel. The headphones fold and twist a certain way to fit in. It can be a little confusing at first. We love these for airplane travel. completely blocks out the airplane drone in quiet mode. The eq changer is nice. chage to alert mode and you can hear everything around you. change to quiet or immersive and you cannot hear someone directly infront of you talking. pretty crazy technology. they are light and very comfy for long term use I have found. Battery lasts a really long time went on a 5 hour flight, used them the whole time, and the batttery only went down to 80%. These are about as nice as you can get for the money. Unless you are an audiophile going up from here I think would be a waste the bass sounds amazing. These are awesome and I'm glad I bought them!

Tested these in store and I’m not sure how anyone buys anything else. Sound quality beats the competition. The bass is fantastic. Deducting one star only because the volume doesn’t get as high as I like in the immersive audio setting. This is okay though because we probably shouldn’t have these things that loud anyway. Don’t waste your money on other brands. Don’t even waste your money on the quiet comfort headphones. If you can afford Bose, please just get these! I’ve had them for a few months now and they work just as well as when I first bought them. The charge lasts forever. The connectivity is seamless.

Connecting and setup on these headphones was easy and fast. Scan the QR code and download the Bose app and you are in business. The headphones come in a nice padded case. Sturdy construction and easy to adjust. The earpads are very comfortable and fit nicely over the ears. It would be nice to see some fun colors instead of just black and white. Also included are 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm audio cable and a USB-C (A to C) cable that is 20” long. With the Bose app you can adjust setting modes. You can also adjust on the headphones (right ear) by a long press on the control button allows you to change settings. A short press is for pause / resume. There is also a volume control strip where you can slide your finger to increase / decrease volume. On your left ear there is a 2.5mm jack. Quiet - highs hit harder and bass drops the deepest. Aware - hear your music and surroundings with full transparency. Immersion - combine full noise cancellation and Bose Immersive Audio for best sound quality. Equalizer – works well and easy to adjust. Immersive Audio – Spatial audio makes the sound more realistic as it comes at you from all angles – just like in real life. Still / Motion settings – will you be sitting or moving? Tailored sound that analyzes the shape of your ears, adapts any distortion to give the best sound quality. Spatial audio makes the sound more realistic as it comes at you from all angles – just like in real life. Call quality was very good. Two of my calls had poorer audio quality but that may have been partially on the other end. Bose says the range is 30’ but I was able to extend that to 36-40’. Quality was fine until it lost connection. My usage was varied as I used all 3 modes so my battery life was about 21 hours. Immersion mode uses the most battery. Charging took just under 3 hours from about 5%. Highly recommended.

I bought the Bose QC Ultra headphones for $279, especially since the Gen 2 model is priced at $450. After using them, it’s hard to justify paying that much more because the differences are minimal. The noise cancellation is excellent, which is where Bose really shines. They block out airplane noise, traffic, and background chatter very effectively. Sound quality is clean and well-balanced, with solid bass that doesn’t overwhelm vocals or mids. Comfort is another strong point. The headphones are lightweight and easy to wear for long periods. Battery life is also good and more than enough for daily use or travel. That said, there are a couple of drawbacks. The microphone quality during phone calls is disappointing for a headset at this price. Call clarity isn’t great, and people on the other end often mention that my voice sounds distant or unclear. I also didn’t enjoy the “follow your head” option in Immersive Audio mode. It feels more distracting than immersive and doesn’t add much to the listening experience for me. Overall, at the $279 sale price, the QC Ultra headphones are a solid buy.

I love these headphones. But I hate I can still hear the fan running in my house. The tv etc. it does cancel noise out a lot but for the price I would expect to hear a lot less. Especially my friends have the QC45 and they can’t hear anything. I figured the ultra would be better. But I do really love how good the sound quality is. I have sensitive ears and it doesn’t hurt them. I like the battery life. I feel like it could be longer. They are amazing headphones. I just have high standards.

I settled on the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones after an underwhelming experience with the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4, and testing out my friend's Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones. The Bose are the best for cancelling out loud city noises, annoying neighbor noises in apartment buildings, and construction noises. All while having amazing battery life. These headphones are a comfortable fit, they are lightweight and have the ability for connectivity to two devices at the same time. The call audio is great, the companion application is easy to use and allows customizable EQ settings. The carrying case is leather like has a nice simple design. Overall I'm happy with this purchase.
