The sound and noise canceling is stronger. I also like the fact that that the head band doesnt have the leather material that frays. These are clean compact cans that work as advertised.

The controls do take a bit to get used to, but overall these are a great outing from Bose.

Noise-cancelling is not as good as it should be for $329. I could hear just about everything happening around me on flights, even with noise-cancelling at max level. When I would turn my head or look down the sensor would malfunction at times, and it would cut the sound from the headset. The price point is a bit excessive compared to other brands that perform better with noise-cancelling tech. They are light and easy to travel with, but the durability lacks. Overall- Good, not great, at that price point.

Posted .Hi Kyle, I'm glad you like some aspects of the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones' design. While noise cancelling is not designed to block out 100% of noise around you (as e.g. emergency sirens or important announcements should remain audible), I'm sorry you don't feel the noise cancelling is working effectively in general. Make sure the earcups are seated tightly enough against your head, and also visit btu.bose.com, to see if your headphones have an update available. As for the audio issue you mentioned, we'd like to take a closer look at this and your setup, to see what can be done here. The biggest problem was that the adapter does not work on the airplane and there is no blue tooth in the plane. Even the adapter that I bought separately at my designation is not work for the KLM and Airfrance flights. So I ended up using this Bose headphone over my earbuds.

Alas, the electronics went bad and had battery issues. This headset blows my old ones away. Expensive, but they sound beyond belief. Worth the money.
