I tried these out as soon as I got home with a few hours leaf blowing. They really brought the noise of the electric blower to a comfortable level and kept the tunes going. Out of the box and 5 hours of blowing, they still had 70% battery. Comfortable too.

Couldn't be any more pleased as I am with Bose Quiet Control 30 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones. They are made of Excellent quality material and are so simple to use. You control how much of the noises going on around you that you want to hear while also enjoying your favorite music and never disturbing those around you. These are perfect and I highly recommend these to all who have busy, multi-family, large family households, and people always on the go. They come with a storage case, charger, extra earpieces, step by step illustrated detailed instructions booklet. Absolutely love how they were designed . Not big and bulky, extremely comfortable to wear, and so lightweight you hardly notice your wearing them. So overly happy to have have been introduced to such a great product that works as promised.

These headphones give an absolutely phenomenal sound. The music is crisp and clear. I love the noise cancel feature. It really drowns the outside noise perfectly. Setup and connection to my iPhone was quick easy. Downloaded the Bose Connection app and it made it simple. These are a little pricey in my opinion but you get what you pay for with these.

I bought these because they checked more boxes than the other choices for my needs. I didn't buy them for the noise cancellation but the added benefit was fantastic. I work in a loud environment and these erase all that and allow you to enjoy your music or really hear the conversation you are having. I'm getting my wife a set.

In my opinion, Bose makes the absolute best headphones out there. Even more awesome, however, are their headphones with noise cancelling. Take them on a plane and everything is virtually silent. I highly recommend these for traveling, if you want headphones like these that hang around your neck. Very good.

    Quality VS Price Kinda Disappointed

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

For the cost and being Bose disappointed in the sound level I have to turn them up very high. My phone is all the way up on volume and the head set is only 2 clicks away from being full blast all the way up. I should not have to go that high for volume I don't on cheap head phones. For being Bose there isn't really any base to them kinda sad about that. They are not sweat proof they do slip out of my ears during work out, for the money they should be swear proof like the others.Switching between smaller ear pieces is very difficult and I already tore and ruined them trying to switch them on my first use. The ear pieces are not of quality at all. So makes me wonder of the quality of the rest of the set. I'm a fashion nut so I like to show off what I buy, in very little print on the bud itself says Bose where know-one can see it. You would think on the plastic piece or something would say Bose to advertise and show off the name. The sound is clear and good. Connecting was easy and stays easy.

    Amazing Sound, Noise Reducing

These headphones have amazing sound quality and the comfortable earbuds allow for hours of listening without them becoming uncomfortable. Bose did an excellent job as they are the most comfortable in-ear headphones I’ve tried. They are not completely noise canceling however and more like noise reducing when you compare the noise canceling of over-the-ear headphones. Pros: 1. Sound Quality 2. Comfort 3. Easy switching between bluetooth devices 4. Noise reduction (especially with music playing) Cons: 1. Neckband rotates when moving around too much 2. Price

Disclaimer: I received the QuietControl 30 Wireless Headphones to test for 3 weeks, at no cost to me. I will be required to return the QuietControl 30 Wireless Headphones at the conclusion of the testing. To start; I'm not a proponent of in-the-ear headphones and I disclosed this prior to being asked to test the QuietControl 30 headphones and they still chose to have me test them, this tells me Bose has a lot of confidence in this product. I have experienced great quality sound from Bose for over 30 years and to date we have been extremely happy with our Bose systems, incredible sound, equipment, and support they have provided for their products. I am looking forward to testing these headphones for the next three weeks. Received our Bose package and found it was well packaged yet easy to access. Package contained the Bose QuietControl 30 Headphones, USB charging cable, multiple additional ear pieces to achieve the best fit for your comfort, instructional pamphlet, and a storage/carrying case. I connect the QuietControl 30 headphones to the USB port on my computer and charged the headset for approximately 2 hours. The green light located on the neckband remained on solid green which is indicating a full charge, I moved forward with the setup to my iPhone. I am using the iPhone 6 so all of my information will be related to the use of the QuietControl 30 Headphones with the iPhone 6. Cons: Disappointed that the QuietControl 30 would not pair up with our Bose SoundTouch 10 or the SoundTouch® 130 home theater system. I'll have to contact Bose support to see if this is an possible option. Have not been able to download the Bose Connect app to my PC. This will be another one for the Bose support team. Pros: Pairing to my iPhone 6 was very easy and quick, instructions appear vague however connection is really as simple as the instructions are. The Bose Connect app was easy to download on my iPhone and I found it very easy to navigate and use. The ergonomic neckband design is soft, light weight and virtually goes unnoticed throughout the day. The ear buds are extremely comfortable and they have not caused any irritation or discomfort. The inline microphone made it simple for me take/end calls, skip/pause tracks, control volume, and control the noise canceling feature without reaching for my iPhone. I have large hands yet I have found the controls on the QuietControl 30 Wireless Headphones to be easy to use. You will find that in a very short period of time you will be so accustomed to the feel of the inline remote it will become a very natural process. I have used the QuietControl 30 Headphones for less than 24 hours and it has become a very easy to use inline remote. Very consistent and balanced sound at any volume. Quality sound with deep rich bass and crisp high notes. The sound from the QuietControl 30 headphone is incredible and it is hard to imagine this quality of sound coming from such a small system. Noise Canceling feature is very good, very simple to use. The headset will make a notable different tone to let you know when you have turned the noise canceling feature all the way up or down. I didn't find the external sound to be totally canceled however I could only hear a very little muffled or low tone when noise canceling was turn up. Having the ability to turn down the noise cancellation and allow more external noise is very nice when you're in an environment where you need to hear the voices or sounds in your immediate surroundings. When in the least noise canceling volume the external sounds are actually amplified, very interesting and unique. Having the ability to set the Bose Connect app to turn off after a selected amount of time is very nice especially if you like to listen to a little music at bedtime. This will save on your battery also. Gives you a notable sound when you receive an e-mail or text on your iPhone that is hosting the Bose Connect App. When receiving a call on your paired iPhone the Bose QuietControl Headphone music will pause and you'll be informed of an incoming call and whom the caller is. It was a simple touch of the multi-function button to answer the caller. Upon conclusion of the call the caller hung up and the QuietControl Headphones automatically disconnected and the music resumed. Very easy to make a call, you hold the multi-function button until you hear a tone, you say "call whomever" (must be in your phone directory), and the call is placed. People I have called stated the sound was excellent. Conclusion: I am amazed at the comfort and ease of use, I have not found any problems with discomfort or movement while using the Bose QuietControl 30 Headphones. Even though I found the quality of the product and the sound to be incredible, the ease of use and the light weight very impressive, I find it's a lot of money for any wireless headphone. Friends and family are very impressed with the incredible sound, the size and quality appearance of the headphones. I will absolutely recommend these Headphones. I rated the Bose QC 30 headphones at a 5 overall however only time will tell regarding the durability, I'll update this review if necessary during my testing period. Our other Bose systems far exceeded our expectations so I would expect the same from these headphones.

I tried the cheap $39 Insignia, the beats 3 for $119 and now These at $299. OUCH on the price. By far these have the best sound quality, call reception and mic pick up of the 3 different ones I have tried. Noise cancelling is superior as Bose is known for... Very Comfortable, don't even realize I'm wearing them. HOWEVER, they will not stay connected, Keep dropping bluetooth and I have to manually re-connect several times a day. Dang it, I really like these headphones, but the connectivity is a deal killer. On to something else. Plantronics maybe?

Hello MikeinMidland. It's great to hear how much you love the QuietControl 30 wireless headphones when you are successful in connecting them, but I am sorry that you are having some problems with this. I would recommend ensuring that they are running the latest firmware by visiting the online Bose Updater on your computer. Additionally, a reset may also help. This can be done by following these steps: 1. Power off your product, then wait 30 seconds 2. Connect your product to a wall outlet using a USB charger, then wait five seconds 3. Disconnect the USB cable from the headset, then wait one minute 4. Power on your product. If the problem persists, please do reach out to us, we will be happy to help. Have a great day. I bought these headphones to replace my 20i's. I thought I could overlook the fact that they don't have a 3.5mm jack but I can't. Although the battery life is decent, there is no option to use them when dead or when charging. Both are available with the 20i. On the positive side, they are comfortable, and the noise cancelling works well. However, If we can't use these while charging and we can't plug 3.5mm jack in they need to last twice as long. This product feels rushed and not thought out.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoy the comfort as well as the active noise cancellation. We agree that the QC20 is a better choice for customers looking for the ability to listen to music without power and will forward your feedback to our product development regarding the need for longer battery life. It is greatly appreciated. Bose

I received the Bose Quiet Control 30 headphones to do an honest review of them. My first thought was .." Who wants to wear a horse collar around all day!?" Anyway, I unpackaged them ,paired them with my phone and put them on. The "Horse collar" is so light you don't even know it's there. The wires are so thin that there is absolutely no resistance when I turn my head like other earbuds I have. I can even wear them with a high collar coat and there is no catching ,friction or resistance from any of the wires or components. That was a big concern for me. I hate wearing earbuds or headphones and having wires catch my coat or bind when I turn my head. The stayhear earbuds really stay put. I wear them at work and it's a very physical job with a lot of bending, turning, and moving and I really don't have to cram the earbuds back in my ears at all when they wiggle loose because they don't wiggle loose or out.Very nice! The noise canceling is amazing! I work in a very noisy environment and you'd be amazed at the amount of sound they cancel out! You wouldn't think you would need noise canceling with earbuds but let me tell you, until you actually cancel out the noise you can't believe how much is getting mixed in with your music! When I want to close everyone out at work I can dial up the noise canceling, but when I need to hear what's going on I can dial it down. They are great for in the car or traveling. Again, mega amounts of noise kept out, music in. The sound quality is exceptionally good. The battery life is very good. The comfort is phenomenal. I only wish the controls were on the left side instead of the right. The case that came with them is small and light and easy to carry. I really love these headphones much better than I thought I would! I can't find much I don't like about them. Get some!

    Best headphone of 2013

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It should be mentioned that this neckband style of headphone was popularized 3 years ago as they were bluetooth headsets offered for android users (from LG, in particular). However, Apple is attempting to bring a fully wireless option to market now - Bragi, Kanoa, Samsung, Earin have already done so, some over a calendar year ago. Some of those have noise cancelling and activity tracking functionality built in. Bragi's device tracks HR, in addition to being waterproof up to 5m for swimming. All of these options and functions delivered without a neckband. As a true testament to the size of the device, the headphone case for the Bose QC30 is roughly the same in size/volume as you'd get for an over-ear Bose option. Truly, self defeating engineering at its loftiest and most blissfully ignorant. So, Bose has basically proved that they're about 3 years behind in product release from their competitors. If this were 3 years ago, I might give this 4 or even 5 stars (as I'd be comparing them to inferior products on the market at the time). 3 stars are pretty generous as well, but I'm giving it that for my dad's use case - an older, retiree jetsetter who is happy to abandon any single wire in his quest to tune out airport/airplane noise, wears collared shirts which conceal about 20-40% of the visible darkness, and lost the QC20s I gave him last year by leaving them on an airplane. These he appears less prone to losing because they will be stored around his neck until he gets to his hotel room. The cables suspending the headphones look like those of an older archivist protecting your bifocals from a nasty tumble. Sound quality is acceptable as compared to QC20, ability to adjust noise cancelling is a neat but arguably unnecessary feature. This is all a great concept, and would have been best-in-show for CES 2012. For my purposes, completely unnecessary to add to my travel, work (Sennheiser Momentum 2), workout (Bragi Dash, Bose Soundsport wired), or home (Grado, B&W, Sennheiser, etc) arsenal of audio equipment - any of which were honestly up for grabs at this price point. Oh well, hopefully dad doesn't lose this pair! In all honesty, depending on your use case, any of those brands listed above provide you better bang for your buck. Even Bose has more compelling options at this price point.

They work well if you are just sitting down with your phone close by. The noise canceling works well especially with the new update. Sound quality is Bose quality. The Bluetooth sucks. If you move around or bend down with your phone in your pocket it starts to crackle and lose signal. Don’t even think about running or going to the gym. The neck bar always rolls around. This is a 5 star product for what I use it for. I go to chipotle sit down, eat and watch a film. No movement, phone right in front of me and noise cancels the background music and people.

I've been using these for two weeks now...mostly around the house. The sound quality is exactly what I would expect from Bose...full and rich, with that signature mid range clarity they are known for and the noise canceling actually WORKS. The app is easy to use also. When they arrived (in their sexy box) I was eager to try them. When I saw the case I was a little discouraged realizing that they do not fold down small, and the band around the neck isn't small either. Its about the size of a disc man (remember those?). That said, while I didn't think I would love having the band around my neck, i actually don't really notice it. at all. Also, most awesomely, the ear buds always stay in (and I always have a hard time with that with other brands). In fact, I prefer these, with the band, to ones with just the cord in the back, because of my long hair (often in a bun) i'm more easily bumping them out of my ears accidentally than with this. So, they are comfortable and have good sound. I'm sold!

    Superb Tech From Bose

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have experienced a few Bose products such as their sound bar, QC25, QC35, Sound Sport Wireless Pulse, and an in vehicle sound system. I was very excited to test drive the QC30 which are the in ear version of the QC35 and the noise canceling version of the soundsport headphones. The QC30 represents true innovation from Bose with a portable way to enjoy a noise canceling unit without the size of the QC35 headphones. The QC30 comes with a specially designed case that is made to provide an exact fit for the headphones without additional room to move around. The case keeps the headphones secure in travel. I like the idea of a smaller case for these headphones. The unit itself comes pre charged with around 70 percent charge. Upon the first tryout of this unit, initial firmware update was needed and I just had another firmware update after that a few days later. It is important to try all the stay hear tips to find the right fit. I went with the large one based on my experience with sound sport wireless pulse. The tips that are pre-installed are the medium ones and they can be removed to place the other sizes on the unit. The biggest draw for this unit is the adjustable noise canceling which can be done from the app downloaded to the phone or the unit control itself. I found that having the app remain open on the phone and securing the fit in the ear is essential to making the experience work. This does take extra time which isn't really needed for the QC35 which is more "plug and play". I think that some will not take this extra time but it is worth the effort. Without the app running in tandem with apple music or the installed music, there is a risk of loosing the noise canceling effect, and toggling between the bose app and the other apps requires that the user press the home button on the iPhone 7 rather than pressing the screen in because that would change the noise canceling setting. In full noise canceling mode the headphones perform with a improved performance over the already superb soundsport wireless pulse. The quality audio from the pulse unit is improved even more with the noise canceling of the qc30. Properly set in the ear and with the app on full noise canceling, the qc30 performs well. The soundstage is a little smaller than the qc35 but when the ear piece is smaller this is to be expected. I would appreciate more firmware updates from Bose to level the experience because sometimes when the app shows noise canceling at the full setting, the noise canceling isn't occurring so the user has to double check the app and the music. The bluetooth is effective on the QC30 and the person I called was able to hear me clearly but mentioned that my voice seemed lower. This was prior to a firmware update. The call is clear sounding. The sound for a unit this size is just fantastic. Bose has got me in love with music again with a crisp sound that's "the Bose sound". The Bose sound is equalized to get me involved and excited. The QC30 is a great unit from Bose which shows true innovation but I'd love to see a wireless adapter for airplane use. I am very pleased with the audio quality. I can use this unit when noise canceling is desired and sweat resistance isn't needed. This is a great travel unit.

I chose the QC30 because of the neckband but the qc30 lacks one thing and that is the vibrate feature to signal incoming calls or messages. I don't need to have the earbuds in my ears to know a call is coming. If bose could think of a way to incorporate this feature in the next neckband model then most people would give five stars. Nobody wants these things in their ears just because you are expecting a call. They may be comfortable but if they stay for too long you will definitely feel the pressure at some point. Imagine being far in another room and the neckband vibrates to signal a call and you then put in the earbuds to answer. This is the only thing that can make me buy the LG tone. The bluetooth range is not competitive vis a vis the Apple Airpods. Secondly, Bose should do something to take care of the dangling earbuds. Give us something retractable, Bose.

Great Sound, Poor Durability and Bulky

First off, I am a lifelong fan of Bose. The clarity of the music and news I listen to is amazing. These however, I have a different take on. I returned my second pair just three days ago. Simply put, both pairs started falling apart after about six months. The rubber cover becomes unglued and the charging port cover falls off. My first pair stopped working at around six month as well. Lastly, the carrying case and headset are simply too bulky and not travel friendly. I work in an office and do not like having this horseshoe around my neck that always twists and has to be adjusted. It does not look professional. I am making the jump to Apple's AirPods to alleviate all of the aforementioned issues, with the exception of having noise cancellation. I know Apple is working on this feature now so hopefully down the road this will be available with their products. It should be noted that Best Buy does not prorate a return of an item under two years any longer. Once you exchange the faulty device for a new pair, you have to pay another $70 which is the cost of the extended warranty for this Bose product. Luckily, when I returned my first pair the extended warranty was prorated. This time, I lost $70 for six months of use - no thanks. Apple AirPods are $159.00 and they sound great!

Overall, they're decent headphones. Music sounds fine, and the noise cancellation is good. Not perfect, but for "wireless" headphones, I'm not complaining. Unfortunately, I've had a few issues that will make me question buying Bose again in the future. First, I had one pair stop working after a few months. Now Bose did take care of it, but the first time I called, someone wouldn't even talk to me unless I had information around the purchase (I was traveling, and didn't have everything he was looking for). Eventually that got straightened out, and got a new set. The new set has lasted, but have since found another issue that's tough to live with (considering the price), and that is the microphone. If you find yourself in a quiet environment, it's great, but introduce any background noise, say from an office environment, and I constantly get complaints about folks not being able to hear me (and there has been a lot of discussion about this on Bose forums so I know it's not just mine). Last I heard, Bose was researching some way to correct the issue with firmware, but now I find myself searching for a new set of earphones to do what I thought the QC30's could handle. Overall, they're fine, but not what I expected from Bose, and if you need to take calls from anywhere but quiet environments, I would look elsewhere.
