They appreciate the comfortable fit and lightweight design, and many find the sound quality to be good. However, some customers feel that the price is too high and the design can be inconvenient due to rotation around the neck.

    A new standard in wireless

My first experience after selecting the proper size earbud from the set of 3 included was to evaluate the feel of the neckband - it's soft, pliable, comfortable - maybe i exaggerate, but I am a true despiser of headbands, and appreciate the alternative. I also am extremely skeptical of the new totally wireless Iphone buds - I can't get the picture out of my head of stepping off a curb and hearing the clink of an expensive airpod plinking down a sewer grate. This is what should've shipped with an Iphone. I'm sure there are those out there that have become totally accustomed to the Airpod, but I'm just insecure about the whole deal - give me a wire. The sound quality is just what you'd expect from Bose - solid across the frequency range. But that's not why you're looking at these, right? It's really about the adjustable noise cancelling - and that's really neat. Do you want to have some awareness of what's going on around you? Or would you prefer to block it all out? It's right there at your fingertips. Pretty cool to be able to dial it up on demand. Spent a bit of time in different environments both indoor & out and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked - I've just had it in my head that you'd never have good noise cancellation in the absence of an over the ear phone. I'm also a vinyl aficionado - I have a high end turntable and appreciate my music loud - which my family & pets do not! I've used my Sennheisers to reduce the complaints, but as i said before, I really despise over the ear headbands. This set has given me a comfortable alternative - and i can set the noise cancellation to a level where i can still hear the requests to take out the trash - or maybe not if i turn it up! Ok, I'm still missing the vibrations in my chest from the booming bass in my audio room, but maybe Bose will figure that out sometime soon. Till then, if you're looking at this price point, this is a great product.

Comfortable, awesome sound, perfect noise cancelin

So prior to getting the QuietComfort 30s, I was a very proud owner of a pair of Bose SoundSport headphones. When I got the SoundSports, I was more than satisfied with the sound quality, the clarity of the treble, the consistency of the mids, and the depth of the bass notes. I also liked the versatility of the headphones as they were made for (obviously) a sporty/outdoor setting. I was and still am in love with the headphones. What does this have to do with the QuietComfort 30s? Well, a lot actually. While I thoroughly enjoy using the SoundSports, which were a big step for Bose in the bluetooth department, I wanted a small in-ear package that could provide noise canceling with the level of control that the QuietComfort 25 and 35 provide (over-ear headphones.) For a long time I wondered when Bose would step their game up even further and provide portable bluetooth in-ear headphones with noise canceling. Well...here they are! I am a very proud owner and these headphones far exceed my expectations. Noise canceling is such an innovative technology, and to me it truly changes the sound experience.. So many details and nuances are lost to outside noise, especially with in-ear headphones when I listen to music. Not with the QuietComfort30s. Bose did an excellent job of bring Bose noise canceling to the in-ear bluetooth headphone world. Thank you so much Bose. I am a very satisfied customer. As far as the actual noise canceling is concerned, the only in-ear noise canceling headphones I have heard besides the QC30s are some AKG noise canceling headphones that came out years ago for around $200 or so. AKG is a very prestigious brand and all, but let it be known that these Bose headphones blow them out of the water! In other words, the AKGs are far inferior next to the Bose, both in noise canceling and in sound quality. This is sad considering the AKGs were wired, and as most of you probably know, wired headphones are supposed to be considerably better at providing better, more balanced sound than wireless headphones. Compared to the mighty QuietComfort 35s, I don't think any pair of in-ear headphones can compete in noise canceling. So if you're in the Bose market purely for noise canceling, you may want to check out the 35s. I am almost sure that the superior noise cancelation capabilities come from the sheer size of the driver that is performing the noise canceling (I won't pretend to know how noise canceling works though.) All I know is that is that as far as bluetooth noise canceling in ear headphones are concerned, Bose gives you access to the best of the best! The design is flawless, the neckband is light but doesn't feel cheap. The earbuds fit snugly and comfortably and don't hurt after being on for hours at a time. All around an amazing set of headphones! Oh and the battery life is sweet!! Bose does great with battery life on all of their products; they don't mess around when it comes to that, I've witnessed. There was one downfall in the first couple of days when I was using them. Whenever I was using the headphones and I would walk away, the headphones would lose signal fairly quickly. I think though, that it had something to do with the fact that I was connected to my MacBook as well as my Note 5. Maybe connecting 2 devices at once shortens the bluetooth distance limit. Either way, the fact that I can listen to music from my computer and also answer a phone call by being connected to multiple devices on all Bose products is outstanding, and the bluetooth never really fails! I feel that their technology is truly top notch in every way! By the way about that bluetooth problem I had was only in the beginning... No other noticeable issues have occurred since. Perhaps one of the cyclical updates from Bose automatically fixed my issue.. there is no telling! Long story short- I highly recommend this product to anyone who is on the fence about buying this.. No, it ain't cheap, but if you've got the cash, make the leap of faith! It will be so worth it!

The Bose QuietComfort 30 is a very well built neck-band style Bluetooth headset that offers excellent sound quality and phenomenal noise cancellation. The neckband fits comfortably on my modest neck and isn't particularly heavy. The cables leading to the earbuds utilize heavy duty wire. The earbuds, despite the quirky StayHear design, fit and stay in my ear comfortably. And you will have no problem getting through the work day with battery life. Sound quality is amazing, as you would expect from Bose. Crisp highs, clear mids, and deep lows make anything you choose to listen to sound great. And I cannot say enough about the noise cancellation. Many products advertise they cancel noise, but this one does it. And you have the ability to adjust the level of cancellation from either the controls on the cable or the downloadable Bose app. The only downside is, its not advertised as water proof. So you may want to limit its use to the office or a plane ride, rather than the gym or pool side.

I purchased this headset March of 2017 and as of today (May 22, 2018) it no longer works. It shuts itself off, even when fully charged or has problems keeping the sync w/my cell or it will be synced but provides no sound (no matter if I played music, Netflix, Hulu or Prime). I have fought with it the last two days and am done. The last Bose bluetooth device I had just fail apart on me after 2 years. It was an excellent device when it worked, but cost way to much for it to only last a year.

Earbuds keep falling out. Volume control won't go high enough to drown out surrounding noise. Noise cancellation is more hype than real. Wouldn't buy again. Bose fail.

We’d like to help. These are great headphones and we want you enjoying them. The fit is directly related to the volume and active noise cancellation experience that you receive with these headphones. Here is a helpful video that illustrates how to get an ideal fit with our removable tips (the video was creating with a previous generation of our ear bud headphones but the principle is the same):  http://bit.ly/1TkDxsE Bose

Earlier this year I got the over-the-ear Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones and absolutely love them. However, they are a little bulky so my wife doesn't really like to wear them. Also, they're big enough I feel a little awkward wearing them in the office. This latest model, the QC30, solves both of those problems. They still have the great Bose sound quality and impressive noise cancellation, but with ear pieces that aren't bulky. The neck band contains the battery, a micro USB charging port, the on/off switch, and status lights for the battery level and bluetooth. It's still very light, however, so it's perfectly comfortable to wear. I didn't see this advertised anywhere, but it appears the neck band is designed to be water/sweat resistant. The USB port has a rubber cover that seals pretty tight and the on/off switch is underneath the rubber coating. The volume, answer/pause button, and the new noise cancelling level adjustment controls are on the wire leading to the right side earpiece. They also come with a very nice, compact carrying case. I'd highly recommend the QC30 if you want headphones you can conveniently use while exercising, working outside, etc. I'm guessing that may be why they made the noise cancellation adjustable, too, so that you can still safely hear things going on around you (if you so choose). Otherwise, most people would always want the maximum noise cancelling. If you're mostly going to wear them on a plane, bus, etc. you may want to go with the over-the-ear QC35 model for maximum sound blocking. But, given the small size and great performance of the QC30 I don't think you can go wrong with these for any application. Excellent headphones!

These headphones are superb at noise-cancellation. While listening to music, 99% background noises are not heard. The one pitfall of this product (which is why I docked it one star) is the wrap-around neck feature. These are not going to be good for running or any fitness-related activity due to the neck brace constantly spinning around & pulling on the earbuds. Although, if using these for music listening and non-strenuous activity they will excel in all categories. The iPhone/Android app made by Bose is easy to use and facilitates bluetooth pairing and firmware updates on the earbuds. Also, the Bose app makes it especially easy to pair these earbuds with multiple bluetooth/NFC devices. Charging the earbuds is effortless and takes minimal time to charge from 0-100% (~2 hours). Battery life is fantastic (~9.5 hours with regular use), and can be extended by turning off the noise-cancellation.

Let me start by saying I have a set of Bose QuietComfort 35 to compare this QuietControl 30 to. I recognize that each set is designed for a different consumer. The QuietComfort 35 is suited for a more stationary person while the QuietControl 30 is more suited for an active person exercising or walking about. However, I have reservations about the safety of walking about with full Active Noise Cancellation in play. That is why the QuietControl 30 offers adjustable noise cancellation. What immediately struck me was that the charging port cover is rather flimsy, it seems to be too thin and therefore doesn't lay flat when the cover is closed. The earbuds are not retractable nor is there a place to mount them when not in use, so they dangle and thus they don't offer the clean look as a set of LG Tone when not in use. However, it is more suited for workout headphones than the QuietComfort 35. From the looks of it, it is sweat resistant. The design of the silicone tips provide good noise isolation. I paired the QuietControl 30 to my phone and was immediately disappointed by the sound. It sounded like a low powered fan was blowing into my ears. Phone calls were like listening to someone in a tunnel. But, once I downloaded the Bose Connect App for my phone, and turned up the Active Noise Cancellation, it got much better. While on a call, the SideTone feature is very nice as it allows you to hear your own voice so you don't end up yelling to overcome the Active Noise Cancellation. However, it does prove to be a double-edged sword. At one point, in my phone conversation, I had one ear bud in my ear and left the other one dangling while I was walking around and the microphone on the dangling earbud was causing noise as it scraped against my shirt. It also caused some noise while re-inserting the ear bud back into my ear. These noises were heard on both ends of my conversation. I then connected the QuietControl 30 to my iPad and watched 2 hours of TV shows. Again, I had to immediately adjust the Active Noise Cancellation level in the Bose Connect App, otherwise the TV show sound would be accompanied with the sound of a low powered fan blowing air into my ears. The sound quality was decent and nearly matched the sound of my QuietComfort 35. Overall, the QuietControl 30 is fairly light and I nearly forgot the neckband was there on several occasions. It is decently comfortable and provides some nice features for a more active listening experience, but for most applications, I still prefer the QuietComfort 35.

      Hello, there.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your QuietControl 30 wireless headphones. We're sorry to hear you have experienced difficulty with the headset's microphone. We totally understand how frustrating this can be.

We would recommend lowering the noise cancellation level on your QC30 the next time you take a call. This can improve call quality in environments with high wind noise. You can lower this setting with the buttons on the side of the QC30's in-line microphone.

If the issue persists, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at 1-800-367-4008 for further assistance. They are available M-F 9 AM to 9 PM Eastern. Thank you, and have a great day!

Only one star because 0 is not an option. One week after they were a year old, they stopped charging. There was a cosmetic issue also but I wasn't going to complain about it. The silicone piece started separating from the other piece closest to the ear pieces. I am a big fan of Bose headphones because of the ear tip feature. but for $300, they should have lasted longer.
