Excellent sound, great features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The QC 30 has the highest quality sound I've experienced with an in-ear headphone and for me that's the bottom line. The purity and quality of the sound is unsurpassed by any in-ear headphones I own (I have 5 sets). That being said, there are many really nice features that are icing on the cake. These are the most comfortable pair of headphones I have used. The earbuds do not irritate the ear after any length of usage. I forget they're in and leave them in even after I've turned off the music! I love how the headphones are secured around the neck by a neckpiece. I have had a clip break on the clip-on style and I've lost a pair because I forgot to clip them to my clothes. Those problems are gone with the QC 30 design. The neckpiece is comfortable and prevents loss. No need to remember to clip it on. I like that the power switch is located on the neckpiece. You don't have to locate it visually because it's easy to find. The controls are easy to operate and are similar to other headphones in terms of volume control, taking phone calls etc. It does have an extra set of controls for the variable noise reduction that are right next to the other controls, so they are easier to find. I don't find an advantage in having variable noise control personally, I just like it either all the way on or off. An on-off button would be easier to operate but this has an up-down control similar to the volume. The noise reduction does not compromise overall sound quality at all which was a concern for me. It also works when the music is turned off. Keep in mind if you have a snoring bed partner :) The battery is amazing, lasting longer than any other bluetooth in-ear headphones I've owned. When you turn on the headphones a voice tells you what percentage of your battery is left. Bose has a free app with features like volume and noise reduction control, battery level and some others. It's nice to have but I end up controlling my headphones more from the headphones themselves rather than the device when I'm not tehtered to it. I would highly recommend these headphones. They have the sound quality that Bose is famous for and they've thought of all the features to make it a pleasure to use.

Product is TERRIBLE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.worst Bose product that I have EVER purchased. Is NOT worth $300. I returned this piece of crap to the store and most definitely got my money back! They weren't even smart enough to design this product with an adjustable neck band.

Good for Travel and Active Use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are a new form factor to the Bose lineup and are the around-the-neck earbud style that have become popular for fitness use. They have a hard "collar" that goes around the neck with the earbuds dangling from cables. One cable has a remote for smartphone use and an NFC tag to easily pair with selected Android devices. They're unique in that the earbuds are similar to in-ear canal buds but actually only go in partially. A silicone "spring" holds them in place with a good seal at the opening of the ear canal. I don't like the feeling of something jammed into my ears, so these are a welcome fit. They're comfortable and seal well but don't go in very far. The neck band feels solid but the fit and finish is a little disappointing for Bose. There are a lot of rough seams. In comparison to their high-end headphones these just don't have the premium look they're known for. Sound quality for music is good, with more bass than my Bose around-the-ear headphones, but less high end. These lean more toward the signature Bose sound. Phone call sound quality is excellent, and the mic works well. Noise cancelling is very good, and the amount of cancelling is adjustable using a smartphone app. It's perfect for an office setting where you might want to knock down some sound but still hear what's going on in case the phone rings. This form factor is perfectt for fitness applications, or maybe air travel where you don't want to have to keep track of bulky headphones. Unlike other brands of around-the-neck earbuds these don't attack magnetically to the neckband; they just dangle around your collar bones. Included in the box is a slim, round case to protect them in a purse or backpack, a USB charging cable and small and large silicone ear tips. They come with the medium ones installed. Medium was perfect for me.

Let the World in or Shut It OUT!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once I heard about these headphones I was very excited. I have the QC35's and even though I love them, I was excited BOSE was now offering something that was smaller and lighter. I work for a marketing company and I listen to music all day, if I am not at my desk, I still NEED my music. What I liked about the QC30's is that I could put them on and select how much much of the office noise I wanted to hear (Phone calls, conversations w/colleagues, etc.) but if I am doing something more tedious where I need to zone out, I just press a button and I can't hear anything but my music! The noise canceling in these headphones is pretty great for the size, when at max noise cancellation, a few sounds may come though, but for the size I feel it is acceptable. The ability to control the noise cancellation is a plus, I think all noise canceling headphones should offer that, as its great because you will not have to pull out the headphones every time someone says something to you. The actual ear buds are the most conformable I have ever worn, these slide into your hear, almost hugging your ear, you have to experience it to know! With the headphones comes additional silicone earbuds to fit any kind of ear. Also included is a compact disc shaped carrying case, which is very easy to fit in any backpack or purse. Also there is a USB charging cable, but no charging block. The battery life is adequate. I averaged about eight hours on a charge, my personal inference is that the louder the environment the harder the noise cancellation is having to work, which results in a shorter battery life. I never have anything shorter than eight hours, so this should be plenty for anyone that plans on using these for several hours. If you do run low you can plug them in and charge them just a portion to get you through the rest of your day. The BOSE connect app is a nice tool, it allows you to control the noise cancellation and volume from you phone, as well as check the battery level. You are also able to control what is playing and change tracks, etc. I have the app on my phone, but I usually do not find my self using it too much. BOSE did a great job with the design. The earbuds look good and everything is made with great quality materials. These do not feel like something you will be able to break, I strongly feel these should be able to keep up with daily activities like, the gym, yard work, etc. These are very comfortable and light to wear, I would forget I'd be wearing them and would be out in town walking around with them! I do love the the way they incorporated the volume control, noise cancellation control and a microphone all on the wire of the headphones, this I found pretty impressive! The only thing I do not like is the neck band. I understand there has to be a place for the battery, Bluetooth/ NFC receivers, and the noise cancellation technology, but I just wish it was a tad smaller, so when you look in the mirror you have a black band around your neck. On the other hand however, for anyone that wears collared shirts, which I do almost all week, it does fit under you collar, so hiding it can be an option. BOSE did a great job, designing the neck band, there is no discomfort at all, but I will be waiting for the day when technology advances and the band can either be reduced or eliminated all together. Overall though, I feel this is a great product. The sound is BOSE sound, the noise cancelation, and the small compact design is a job well done by BOSE. I would definitely recommend these for anyone that wants BOSE sound during active activities and who wants to be able to tune the world out!

Hate them
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They did not fit comfortable in the ear even when I switched to a different tip for the ear pieces and the cord was to short so when you move your head the wrong way they would pop out.

My first pair of portable headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For my first pair of portable head phones I have to say they were a great choice. I was not a huge fun of these kind of headphones at first because I though the sound quality wouldnt be the same, but as soon as I put them on my opinion completely changed. For portable headphones they are extremely comfortable which means I can take them anywhere without trouble. I love using them on trips and while riding my bike. I usually like to put the volume very high and when I did that on these, my ears did not hurt like the regular headphones would have. I wanted to know how much of a distance the headphones where capable of. I measured the distance and it went up to 25 feet which is great. definitely going to continue using products by Bose

Instant Bose Favorite!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product for use in an often noisy and distracting office environment. So far I have been very impressed with the audio output quality! Somewhat reserved - yet clear highs, detailed mids, and perfect lows with nice sub bass. I like the comfort of the Bose StayHear ear tips, although they are a little bit difficult to take in and out if you need to frequently; they also attract lots of particulate such as dust, lint, and even dry skin from your ears..... The noise canceling on these is nothing short of impressive, the effectiveness rivals that of my pair of QC35's and even my A20 Aviation Headset! I wish that the Bose Connect App had more features for EQ tuning and presets, I also wish that this QC30 headset would not default to noise cancelling ON. I'd prefer the headset to retain memory for my previous set noise cancelling level. An example of how this can be annoying is if you aren't being spoken to frequently with the headset on and have noise canceling off, and you power the headset off then back on, noise canceling will be at 100% again..... please consider this in a future firmware update Bose!

Best neckband type headphones Ive had.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are not named correctly in Best Buy Product Description. They actually are Bose QuietControl 30,not QuietComfort 30. They have superior sound as all Bose products do, are very comfortable to wear and use and have an ambient noise reduction system. The other sounds are greatly reduced but not to the extent of my over ear Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones. (they simply cant be as good because of the ear itself resonating surrounding sounds, but are much quieter than similar yet lesser headphones without the suppression feature). They have a very nice sturdy circular case and a supplied USB charge cord. The sound qualityis fantastic is truly an astounding audio experience that really does justify the price tag.

Amazing!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned a few neck band and non neckband style Bluetooth headsets in the last two years. I never really been a fan of the neckband style because they never fit right and are always uncomfortable. Bose just changed the game with these quietcontrol 30 noise cancelling headphones. Its Made out of a soft touch material (either a polymer or plastic) that is super light and soft. I'm wearing it right now and I can't tell its on my neck. The earbuds are also awesome, they are hands down the most comfortable earbuds I ever worn. Now for the most important part, sound canceling and the sound reproduction. With the sound canceling the only thing I hear is my own voice in my head. Finally, sound production, amazing!

Great sound, easy setup
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Surprisingly good sound quality -- you can hear a pretty full range, and it is great for phone calls and Skype. It also does active noise cancelling. It's very effective. The headset is pretty comfortable. I had a couple of minor complaints -- the range isn't that great, and the instructions are really abstract. I hope to see a more detailed manual for it that explains the buttons, features, how to fit the ear pieces, etc.

Love these
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not much of a Bose fan but these are really nice. The neck piece is a soft rubber coating and is very comfortable around the neck. The ear pieces fit nicely in the ear and stay in place while I was doing carpentry work around the house.I really like the noise cancellation. Even without the music it does a real good job of elimination most background noise. The only odd thing, but something I liked, is when you turn the noise cancellation all the way down it seems to increase the sounds around you. For an older person who is getting a little hard of hearing I liked that little extra amplification.

Bose makes everything way more awesome!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.5 stars to Bose again! I have owned many headphones and Bose continues to win. I’ve been using these headphones for about a week, and they are great! I was a bit concerned at first about the neckband as I am a runner and I thought the band would bounce up and down on my neck, they don’t move at all. The earbuds are super comfortable, and soft and they DON’T MOVE AT ALL! Many other earbuds fall out especially when you sweat. Overall 10+ for comfort. Having a remote is must, I’m right handed so for me it’s conveniently located on the right side, a few inches below my ear and easy to control. The active noise canceling feature is fantastic like only Bose can do! So far I’ve used them in the office, at the gym and went running outside, which is usually when you can tell if the noise canceling is any good or not. The only time I heard any outside noise was one day while running it was a bit windy I could hear outside noise and even then, only if I was running directly into the wind. The sound quality is most important to me and it great, the bass comes through the way it was intended, and doesn’t sound tinny. Good battery life, says 10 hours, but I’ve been using mine every day, 6-7 hrs. a day for the better part of a week. They come with mini USB charger and a semi-hard leather case which is always convenient for travel. Everything Wireless Rocks, but when it’s my music, Bose makes everything WAY more awesome!!
