Awesome speaker, great customer service and courtesy, a great Company to work with

What an amazing sound comes out of this small speaker , very compact in size, weighs about 15 lbs. has a handle for easy carrying & sits in multi positions so you can use it many ways, as a monitor, tilted back, on a stand, practice amp, there is a rubber pad around most of it so it doesn’t get scratched & stays where you put it. We tried using it many ways & the sound was incredible & really projects. We played acoustic & electric guitars through it & also sang through a microphone with clear sound and minimal feedback, only feedback was when the mic was directly in front of it. It also has Bluetooth so you can play a song on your device & also sing or play along with it. Connection to Bluetooth was easy. There are 2 inputs for mics, with separate controls for each for volume, bass, treble & reverb. A tonematch switch so you can go from mic to guitar for better sound. An auxiliary jack with volume control, a line out jack & a small service USB port. The lithium ion battery was included with my system but I see it’s not always included and costs about $100 if bought separately. Battery life is about 6 hours. Also comes with A/C power cord. The owners manual is about 4 pages long with one line in 20 languages on each page, you have to go online to view the manual which wasn’t available. As all Bose products are quite easy to set up & connect you really don’t need a manual but sometimes they’re just nice to have around just in case. This is a great, compact PA system which can go anywhere & sounds awesome, highly recommended!

So far so good, it’s like 5 years old but since I bout it new I feel like it’s still up to par with technology in todays world. Great buy I’d say.

The Bose S1 portable speaker is perfect for my use, and that is as a karaoke monitor. I previously used a much inferior speaker as my monitor, and the difference with the bose is striking. Not just the sound quality (which is fantastic - as always w/ bose!) but with the many different options. In effect, you have a total of three different channel inputs to work with. 2 w/ full controls (volume, reverb, etc), and one 3.5mm aux control. What also is great, is you can sync w/ bluetooth! Totally cutting another cable if need be. Thus, making this a perfect party speaker as well. Want to stream from your favorite music streaming service? The bose product has you covered. If only you didn't have to keep it plugged in.... But wait! Bose has thought of that too! With the optional battery option, you can be completely cordless. Leaving you the ability to take the speaker anywhere! About the sound quality, it is really what we already know and expect from a company w/ such high regard as bose. The highs and mids are reproduced respectively, and the lows truly are BOOMING. My previous monitor would constantly buzz and create feedback. However, with the bose in stage monitor mode - this is completely eliminated. So whether you are wanting the perfect "party speaker", practice amp for your instrument, stage monitor, or performance speaker - the Bose S1 Portable pro speaker is for you. **To add, on the two main channels you have a special selector to choose whether you are using the channel for a mic, or an instrument - and the speaker will modify the sound accordingly. Truly a wonderful addition to a truly wonderful product!

It sounds great but their battery last for only 3 hours. That’s why I returned to the store.

Very regular, the battery is supposed to last 11 hours and it lasts 3 and a half hours, in fact I am going to return the item.

Was very disappointed in this purchase and returned it as was told I could hook up and use as many wireless microphones as I wanted. That was not the case as could only use 4. Had to fight with a manager to return it as guess have 15 days to return items but this was purchased online for store pickup and no where on my emailed receipt did it say a return policy.

I've always had great respect for BOSE sound quality and have some experience with their higher end PA and amplifier products (the L2) for performing with acoustic guitars and microphones. Those units sound great and are legendary when it comes to setup/breakdown ease. Still, those devices cost thousands of dollars and so I was pretty skeptical that a 15 pound box that is about 1 square foot in size could really deliver. Spoiler Alert! - It does!!! If you are into small venues or busking and want a portable solution with 3 independent channels you will love the S1! Two of the channels offer 1/4" or XLR input with independent reverb, bass, treble and volume controls. Those channels each have the BOSE ToneMatch system which allows you to optimize for either a guitar or microphone, or simply have a clean channel by simply sliding a switch. The third channel offers a 3.5mm jack or Bluetooth support, again with it's own volume control. This is super handy if you want to use backing tracks or play music between sets. The unit itself has positional sensors that allow it to automatically apply the appropriate equalization depending on its orientation. I found the effect to be subtle but effective and it really offers you a ton of flexibility. You can stand the box upright, tilted back, or lay it on its side for use as a monitor. It also can be mounted on a speaker stand. One thing that impressed me is that I don't have to be super careful about where I am in relation to the speaker. It is really good at suppressing feedback. The box also offers a line out port if you need to pass off your signal to a main PA. Here's where the S1 separates itself from the pack - there is an optional lithium-ion battery pack available that can run for up to 6 hours and allows you to use it almost anywhere. I haven't actually run on battery for more than 2 or 3 hours but I can testify that it easily runs that long. BOSE has borrowed their vertical-array technology from the L1 system to create a very wide and rich soundfield from a very small form factor. While you can drive it too hard and create some nasty break ups, if you use it as intended you will be surprised at how loud it can play. There aren't a lot of negatives that I can point out. One might be the lack of a master volume control for the inputs. Sometimes you just want to increase or decrease the volume for the whole unit with out having to go back and adjust individual controls. This is especially important because often you will have spent some time getting everything dialed in on a channel-by-channel basis and you really don't want to mess with that when you are trying to perform. In summary - the S1 has become a precious traveling companion for me and I would strongly encourage you to check it out!

L1 and F1 combo = S1 Pro. how exciting. Array technology, drivers, 6” woofer, low cross over point, 600-700 hertz = clear & natural vocals. This unit is perfect for PA, monitor, practice amp or primary music source for small gigs. I think 75 max is where I would DJ with it. it has a 3 channel mixer, xlr, reverb mix control, tone match switch, instant optimization. Bluetooth is awesome. 1/8” input also. Independent volume for all 3. Line out to daisy chain or link to more speakers. 4 usable positions, table top mode (accelerometer), tilt back mode, floor monitor mode (rotate the logo), pole mount mode, all or sensored for best sound. Battery is separate (should come with one) but gets 6 hours of play time with a full charge in minutes. Performance is the same, plugged or charged. Backpack would be great for protection and carrying around hands free. 15 lbs cant get heavy over time. Colored skins coming soon. I’ve also used it at a golf tournament to make announcements (mic connection only). I use it with Bluetooth at home or at a friends house, easy to connect and the sound fills half the house. I like the size bc I can put it somewhere on a shelf up high and have it fill the room and out of the way. However in Bluetooth mode you lose quality of sound. At gigs, I use it as a monitor and then my L1 is on the other side of the room. At the house parties though, once everyone is drunk and wants the music to be ridiculously loud, I usually turn it off and leave, no need to listen to distorted music or bust my speaker for my wino friends. TMI of course. I like the speaker, I like most all bose speakers, the end.

Worst idea i ever had was to buy this and use it as a stereo any base coming through just sound like a busted speaker and battery is no where close to 10 hours more like 5 my sound touch models are clearer and almost as loud.

Decent sound but nothing remotely close to studio sound.

It a not as loud as I anticipated and it just doesn’t have the quality for the money I paid ! But we are amidst Covid19 and I couldn’t return it .
