Just right upgrade for S1 Pro

I do public speaking mostly and ability to quickly set up is essential. Power may not be available or extension cords and microphone wires create tripping hazard. S1 Pro Plus is the answer! It's a much appreciated upgrade of the S1 Pro that added built in wireless capability. No longer I need to find a wireless mic kit, everything is included with S1 Pro Plus. Internal battery lasts up to 11 hours (and takes about 4 hours to fully charge) and wireless line/microphone and instrument transmitters eliminate signal cables. Mic/Line transmitter does not seem to introduce any noticeable delay nor feedback, I had no problem during a couple events I had to do. Along with wireless capability - speaker is well equipped with 3 input ports (2xXLR/TRS and 1xTRS / standard 3.5mm jack) one XLR output (that can be used to daisy chain the next speaker) and Bluetooth connectivity. There is a bons USB-C port to transmit audio to a connected computer (for live streaming on Zoom for example) and USB-A port to charge your electronics! Each input channel is individually controlled by a combination push/turn knob and a little screen. Volume, Treble, Bass and Tone match (line, mic, instrument) are individually adjustable. Wireless transmitters are conveniently stored inside the special "bays" inside of the speaker where they also charge and update firmware when needed. Speaker firmware can be updated via USB-C connection as well.
Overall it's a wonderfully equipped speaker which includes all you need for outdoor performance - would it be speaking or playing instruments. You would obviously need to bring your own microphone, instrument and pole mount (if desired). Speaker can be placed on the ground in either standing upright, tilted back or on the side position, it would automatically detect it and use appropriate twitter (there are 3 twitters in the array and one midrange driver) for the best sound.
Few things I've noticed that might be improved:
- Wireless Transmitter Bay covers are easy to loose, it's ok if you always keep your transmitters in the bay, but if you are not - those covers can be easily misplaced
- Old S1 Pro had all the physical controls and knobs, one glance at the speaker allowed me to see there Reverb, Tone, Treble and Bass were, now I have to rely on the little screen menu.
- Sometimes when reaching for the volume adjustment knob I inadvertently push it and end up on the Treble adjustment instead.

Endless possibilities with this speaker

I have only just tapped into the endless possibilities & features with this speaker. It is amazing! The sound is clear & crisp, we use it for rock band practice & it’s impressive. It can be used as a monitor & with the wireless transmitter for mic & instrument it works great. They have their own storage on the back of the speaker which is also a charging port & they are hidden for compact travel . Mic can be plugged in directly to speaker & you can sing with music, would be good for karaoke or a party also. When using as a monitor & in wireless mode the line in plug works as an insert/effects loop. This connected very easily to Bluetooth & sounds excellent with vinyl records & iPod. Also can be attached to a stand, this is loud even at half volume!
Features digital settings instead of analog for bass, treble, volume & reverb. On the back there are 2 1/4” XLR input, 1 auxiliary input, Bluetooth, 1 USB power source, 1 USB-C out for computer/recording device, 1 XLR live out to link to PA or another S1 speaker. I have not tried to see if I can link it to Bose music app so I can control it from my iPad, hopefully that feature will be available.
I have an older model of the same speaker & thought that had a lot of features & great sound but this blows that one away!

On February 18th, I purchased a Bose model S1 Pro+ stereo on the Best Buy website for US$623.80. I indicated
my apartment number in the delivery address. Order number: BBY01-806918902290, Model: 869583-1110,
SKU: 6543828.
According to the company's website, the device was delivered by FedEx on 02/23 at 1pm, but I only got home
at night and, therefore, the administration was closed. I went to the location indicated by FedEx, which was the
mail room, and my box wasn't there. Initially, I imagined that the condominium administration had collected
it. Tracking #: 717762938136.
On Monday morning I went to the administration and couldn't find my order. I asked the CAVIN administrator
and he said he didn't see the box as described and couldn't say where it was. I showed him a photo of the
place left by FedEx and he said that the procedure is to deliver it to the door of the apartment and not to the
mail room.
Please note that the building's door is being unlocked and anyone can enter freely through the elevator hall
and have access to the residents' mail room. Furthermore, I was informed that the condominium's cameras arenot recording people's movements around the place.
The administrator's assistant CAVIN came to tell me that she had recently seen a man with black skin and
dreadlocks walking around the condominium and she didn't know him, but she didn't accuse him of whether
it was him.
In view of this, I request an investigation to try to find the suspect and, if possible, my order.

I have to say that EVERY Bose product I have owned is nothing short of phenomenal - and the Bose S1 Pro+ Wireless PA system is no exception. Thing thing ROCKS. It's Loud and Clear. It's Portable and Sexy (can I say that)? It has a plethora of settings for wired instruments and microphones and Bluetooth connectivity to play from your compatible devices. Oh - and for your instruments and microphones, it also has BUILT-IN wireless RF receivers too!
The unit boasts a rechargeable battery with up to 11 hours of playtime and a USB power to power your phone or tablet if needed as well. It can connect to other Bose S1 Pro speakers to truly elevate your sound (I was unable to test this - but it's a major feature).
They suggest downloading and use the Bose Music App for audio control, accessing your favorite streaming services and taking total control of your music.
Overall - I love it. My family loves it - in fact they fight over it. We'll use this on the boat, at the bonfire, in the garage and basically everywhere. My daughter is a dancer - and loves to use this to play her dance music to practice with. Sure, it's a bit more expensive than a simple bluetooth speaker - but you get what you pay for and this Bose products delivers in abundance!

A Truly Wireless Performance Rig

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
UNBOXING:
Inside the box, you’ll find the Bose S1 Pro+ speaker with a user-replaceable rechargeable battery pre-installed, a power cable, and basic documentation.
For the most up-to-date information on how to get the most out of the S1 Pro+, I highly recommend checking out the manual from their support website, as this will detail a lot of features that are hidden to the eye.
If you are interested in the ¼” Wireless Transmitter or XLR Wireless Transmitter, those are separate purchases and do not come with the S1 Pro+. That being said, I’d argue it’s one of the main reasons you should want to consider purchasing the S1 Pro+ in the first place.
BUILD:
The S1 Pro+ has a rugged, durable-feeling build. It doesn’t at all feel cheap, and while it certainly has some weight, it’s also not unwieldy. It’s actually surprising how light it actually is given how it looks.
Compared to my traditional 10” 1000W PA speaker, the S1 Pro+ is significantly lighter, and can be carried and positioned using only 1 hand thanks to its rugged top handle. So if you’re used to carrying a much larger PA speaker with two hands like I am, you’ll be happy to know that the S1 Pro+ will let you take fewer trips to whatever gig you have.
Additionally, you can put it in 4 different configurations—flat, tilted back, on its side and tilted up as a monitor, or on a speaker stand. So whether you’re just doing karaoke, playing in a coffee shop, or busking out on a street, there is versatility to suit your needs. And the system automatically adjusts the EQ for each of these configurations, since it knows that each configuration will yield different sonic characteristics it may need to compensate for.
INPUTS / OUTPUTS:
The S1 Pro+ has 3 inputs. Channel 1 & 2 are both ¼” / XLR hybrid inputs for wired dynamic microphones or instruments. It’s important to note that these XLR inputs DO NOT deliver 48V Phantom power, so you are limited to dynamic microphones.
Alternatively, if you have either of the wireless transmitters, you can remove the rubber plugs next to these inputs and dock the wireless transmitters where they can recharge from the S1 Pro+, receive firmware updates, and be set up to perform wirelessly. If you opt to go with these wireless transmitters, they will function over Channel 1 & 2. It’s important to note that you can’t use a wired and wireless input on the same channel. But you’re more than welcome to use a wireless transmitter on one channel while using a wired connection on the other, or wireless transmitters on both channels. In my experience, latency from these transmitters is good when you’re nearby the S1 Pro+, but latency will become more noticeable once you are 20-30ft away.
Channel 3 is technically multiple inputs. You can provide either a ¼” balanced mono line input, a 3.5mm stereo line input, as well as bluetooth connectivity. You are able to use one of these physical line inputs as well as a bluetooth device simultaneously on Channel 3, so if you wanted to connect a keyboard/synthesizer in addition to using your phone over Bluetooth, this would be the best way to do so.
There is also an XLR Line out if you want to send the mix to another sound system or speaker. You can also enable a crossover to optimize sound for use with a powered subwoofer via this output.
Lastly, there is a USB-A output for charging a mobile device and USB-C output for Live Stream mode and firmware updates via a computer.
HIDDEN INPUT CAPABILITIES:
Within the online manual, Bose displays a number diagrams for over 10 different configurations that folks may want to use. And it’s not immediately obvious everything that the S1 Pro+ supports without reading it, so I highly recommend checking it out to see if it will fit your specific use-case.
In my particular use-case, I wanted to leverage the wireless transmitter with my electric guitar, but also be able to run through my Neural DSP Quad Cortex amp modeler. And since the wireless transmitter only works with the Bose S1 Pro+ since there’s no detachable receiver, it wasn’t immediately intuitive out of the box on how I could achieve this.
But reading the section in the manual titled “GUITARIST WITH WIRELESS TRANSMITTER AND AMP MODELER PEDAL” It diagrams how I can use the send & return outputs of my modeler via an insert cable. On another page within the manual titled “CONNECT EFFECTS TO A CHANNEL INSERT WHEN USING A WIRELESS TRANSMITTER” it describes that cable as a ¼” TRS to dual ¼” TS cable. I did a quick search, bought the cable, and with a bit of configuration within my amp modeler, I was soon using my wireless receiver.
That being said, if you have a similar use-case as I do but want to go wired, it’s a bit more straightforward, with just a bit more cables involved.
CONTROLS:
Once you’ve figured out which inputs you want to use, you can also use the onboard control knobs to navigate menus by pressing them as a button, and dial in your mix by rotating the knobs.
On Channels 1 & 2, you can control volume, bass and treble, as well as a reverb. On Channel 3, you can control volume bass and treble, but no reverb. If you’re using a bluetooth audio source, it’s important to note that the volume setting from your source device (e.g. smartphone) will be independent from the volume control of the volume knob for Channel 3.
Additionally, pressing and holding any of these knobs for 3 seconds will enter the secondary menus.
BATTERY:
While I haven’t been able to put the S1 Pro+ through the most rigorous usage yet, Bose claims up to 11 hours of use out of the S1 Pro+ with “typical usage” and to allow up to 4 hours to fully charge the system battery.
If you need to check the system battery level and charging status, you can look at Channel 3’s display for the battery status, and a lightning bolt will appear if it’s actively being charged. And no worries, you can still use it while it’s being charged.
Bose also claims that the wireless transmitters will last up to 5 hours with typical usage and to allow up to 2 hours to fully charge the transmitter battery, so bear this in mind if you’re expecting to operate the S1 Pro+ for prolonged periods of time.
APP:
For me, the app is a critical element of the S1 Pro+. It gives you the ability to adjust volume, EQ and reverb into scenes that you can save and reload. This means you can dial in mixes for different scenarios and reuse them without having to fidget with knobs. I chose to create a scene for karaoke where I’ve dialed in the mix and reverb across 2 microphones and a bluetooth audio source, and I’ve also created another scene specifically for my guitar amp modeler.
Another app feature that’s very useful is ToneMatch. Initially, when I set up my guitar modeler, the sound wasn’t quite what I expected, but by going into the ToneMatch settings for that channel and selecting an Instrument ToneMatch preset for Utility > Full Range Flat Response, I was able to get a much more sonically pleasing sound for my guitar modeler. Additionally, there were also Microphone ToneMatch options for popular handheld microphones like the Shure SM58 and Sennheiser E855 which delivered a better tonal balance for those microphones when enabled.
There is a decent sized list of ToneMatch presets for different scenarios, and hopefully the list grows over time to better meet the needs of the community.
SOUND:
From what I can see, the Bose S1 Pro+ consists of 3 tweeters in an array and a woofer placed behind the tweeter array.
Out of the box, I do think that using it flat on a ground surface may yield a much-too-bassy frequency response, so I find that it sounds much better when tilted back or put it on its side tilted up. Your mileage may vary, but limiting the bass resonance with the ground has yielded a more natural sound profile to my ears that is clear without being boomy. I’ve not yet put it on a speaker stand, but that would also deliver a more balanced frequency response. It’ll really depend on where you use it and the acoustic environment. I’ve also cut back or added bass via the EQ for different circumstances.
For general music-listening via bluetooth or aux-in, it’s important to note that the S1 Pro+ is not a stereo system—it down-mixes stereo audio into mono audio. This is really meant as a PA speaker that has additional functions for performance purposes. If you’re not interested in performing and just want a speaker for listening, you will want to look elsewhere. Even so, I find that bringing a speaker like this to a party can still be good if you want to pair it up with another or other speakers. But as a single speaker, it’s very directional, so the sound field won’t be particularly wide.
For live performance vocals, the S1 Pro+ does a great job at keeping them prevalent in the mix without completely drowning other instruments out. If you’re considering using the S1 Pro+ for karaoke, I think it’s a great option that you could take from house to house with very little setup.
For instruments like electric guitars through a modeler or FX processor, it can also deliver a lot of body for such a small speaker, and I appreciate that ToneMatch makes it easy to get good tone through my system.
CONCLUSION:
When I got the S1 Pro+ in my hands, I had no idea how feature rich it actually was until I started delving into the manual. There’s really a lot of capability here for a portable PA speaker, and it ended up fitting multiple of my use-cases really well. Going forward, I intend to use The S1 Pro+ for karaoke night with friends, for jams at our weekend volleyball, for bumping tunes at house parties, and for rocking out through my guitar amp sim wirelessly.
There are still numerous use-cases I’ve still not covered, but given my experience with it thus far, I think the S1 Pro+ is a great option for performers who are looking for portability, wireless convenience and good sound.

Small unit with big sound

Small, portable PA with digital indicator panels for the volume levels but still physical turn knobs. Designed to balance standing at straight vertically or tilted at an angle to aim sound. Handles are placed in good locations to make carrying the PA easy.
Can use XLR or aux input cables, or Bluetooth. For live sound, I didn’t try Bluetooth due to the risk of lagging, but playing music off my phone for a background track worked really well.
The Bose music app made setup extremely easy, as you literally just follow the on screen steps and the app readily located and connected. No hassle.
Sound quality with a Shure SM58 and my Taylor 414 hooked up was great. Loud enough to use as an standalone unit for our small congregation. At home, I hook it up so my son can use with his electronic drum set. Connecting the e drums is as simple as plugging in an AUX cable (cable not included). The box does include, however, wireless adapters for mic and instruments.
Small unit with big clear sound I expect from Bose, I am very happy with how this unit carries and performs.

I recently purchased the Bose S1 Pro+, and it has exceeded all my expectations. For such a compact speaker, the sound quality is phenomenal—rich, clear highs and deep, punchy bass that fill the room (or outdoor space) effortlessly. Vocals sound warm and natural, and music comes through with that signature Bose balance that’s never too harsh or muddy.
The portability is a huge plus. It’s lightweight, easy to carry with the built-in handle, and the battery life is impressive—I’ve gotten hours of use without worrying about recharging. The Bluetooth connection is rock-solid, and the ability to also plug in instruments or microphones makes it incredibly versatile for events, gigs, or even just backyard gatherings.
Setup is fast and simple, and I love that it works just as well standing upright, tilted back, or on a speaker stand. Whether I’m using it for music, karaoke, or as a PA for small events, it delivers professional-grade sound without the bulk.
Bose really nailed it with the S1 Pro+. If you want premium, portable sound that’s ready for anything, this is the one to get

Technology rarely impresses me to the point of telling friends and family about it. Within my group, I'm the guy who loves new tech products, so over the years, I've learned that my unsolicited suggestions go in one ear and out the other to those whom I talk to because I've spoken about my gadgets with annoying enthusiasm in the past. So now, I don't say much without answering any of their specific questions - until now.
This BOSE S1 Pro+ wireless speaker is, hands down, one of the best pieces of tech I own. From the sound, the quality, and the features to the portability, this one is worth every penny of its asking price.
You may ask yourself whether or not you need a "portable PA system," but I assure you, the PA feature is excellent! For example, one of my jobs, when I worked was to set up our business's audio when we were having meetings or parties. This would work perfectly for such an occasion. You don't need a stereo setup when you have this. You plug your mic in, and the max volume is well above what you need.
Or maybe you attend a church or a group where there may be live music? Plug in an electric guitar like this is an amp, and voila, you have a speaker that can handle live music! It's pretty awesome! But let's say you don't need it for a PA or have a guitar to plug it into. Well, even without needing those features, you will love the sound of this thing. You can use it as a portable music player for your backyard, patio, AirBNB, camping, lake, park, or anywhere you think you'd travel. This thing rocks. I'm a huge audio guy, and usually, with portable speakers, you'd wish you had a sub to go along with it, but not with this one.
Bose is a trusted company. They've been around since 1964 and have consistently been one of the best choices for audio needs. You can tell immediately the quality of this product. The knobs, the digital reading of the battery, and the volume. It's superb. A great touch is that you can use the speaker standing up or lying on its side. It has rubber feet to protect it if you lay it on its side, and depending on the orientation, the digital readings and lights of the volume and battery will rotate on the display. That's a small but fantastic touch and shows how much they concentrated on making this a premium product.
It's heavy, but not enough to not be able to hold it with its built-in handle. The battery can last up to 30hrs! That's amazing. Some of my smaller portable speakers don't even last that long!
If you're looking for a large Bluetooth speaker, look at this one. Yes, it is expensive, but with the features and quality, this speaker will last a very long time. There's value to products you'll use for the next several years!

The Bose S1 Pro Plus is the much awaited to the highly popular S1 Pro launched circa 2018. The S1 Pro Plus is essentially is more of an incremental upgrade rather than a major update. But still the upgrade is still worth it in my opinion.
First, the S1 Pro Plus follows the general form factor of its predecessor but with a more curvy design. It still retains the ability to position itself vertically or horizontally with the added capability to tilt so as to provide a more vibrant audio experience. And like before, Bose made sure that the logo like in the S1 Pro can be rotated in accordance to its positional orientation. Talk about branding!
The Bose S1 Pro Plus I have includes a battery and is rated to be at around eight hours of usage. This battery like the previous model is replaceable. But I do not know if this is a standard feature of the new model. I understand the previous generation S1 Pro has the bettery as being optional.
Like in the previous version, the S1 Pro Plus has two analog inputs and bluetooth> The main difference here is that the new model has an LED display rather than separate dials for the control. It still has one dial for each where you can toggle between bass, treble, volume and reverb. And do note this does not have a “manual’ equalizer but “autoequalizes” itself.
Another improvement is the addition of wireless input. There are two optional wireless modules compatible for this speaker system. One is a wireless mic transmitter and the other is an analog transmitter best suited for guitars or any other appropriate instrument. I was able to reset the wireless mic transmitter since I have a “pro” grade mic in my house. Surprsingly the volume is much louder compared to when the same mic is connected via cable. Unfortunately, I do not have a guitar or any other musical instrument in the house, so I wasn’t able to test the other transmitter.
The optional transmitters have built in batteries and from the looks of it, can be charged via USB-C but is not stated in the documentation. However, the S1 Pro Plus has two charging bays built in to the speaker. I was able to charge the transmitter and also I was notified of firmware updates on the transmitter. Given this, I was no longer to verify if the transmitter can be charged via USB-C or is actually having a USB-C port. Nonetheless, this is moot since there are charging bays already in the speaker.
As for sound quality, it has the sound signature of Bose and is quite loud. Bass is rather responsive as it is able to give a thump. Whereas, treble is fairly good but not spectacular. Obviously, I was not able to test the reverb function. And as usual, Bose does not disclose wattage of their products, but it is quite loud. Let’s get real this is a PA system and should be quite loud. Loud enough tone the accompanying speaker or used a sound monitor if you are a musician and also loud enough if you are using this as a PA system and also loud enough if you decide to use this as a karaoke system.
Also, another change to note is that unlike the previous model which connects to the Bose Connect app, the S1 Pro Plus now connects to the Bose Music app. This is a plus since it is now SimpleSync compatible but also smart compatible. I was able to group the S1 Pro Plus with my Bose Home Speaker 300 and Bose Smart Soundbar 5.1 system and the whole house is rockin’!
Normally I burn in speakers as is good practice before using it normally. After successfully burning in the S1 Pro Plus, I still noticed distortion when the speaker is mounted on a stand or displayed vertically. This for whatever reason is absent when using it horizontally. I have no idea if this is a fluke with my unit nor it is simply a design flaw. Nevertheless, it is not a big deal for me but this should be noted as well.

In the world of pro audio we often find unconventional manufacturer names, some with home consumer divisions and many without. One name always seems to rise to the top, and is a brand trusted by so many in professional audio, BOSE.
With this brand new S1 Pro+ product BOSE has managed to hit it out of the park. Even the unboxing experience touts quality. Pulling the unit from the box and seeing the BOSE logo on the front admittedly brought me good feelings.
Even small details like the pliability of the 3-prong IEC power cable feels like quality rubber compound and not the run of the mill plastic on most consumer electronics with detachable cords, and convenient adapter style plug-in charging docks for wireless instrument and mic units. Simply click and they pop right out.
It didn’t take long at all to have available battery charge to put this through the paces. Within minutes I’d switched the DirecTV analog audio output Y-adapter to 3.5mm from the JBL into the BOSE.
Absolutely amazed at how much louder this is, even at close to minimum volume. Booming thunderous bass for that o “oh wow” moment.
With neighbors I dare not even explore anything above 25% even at 6pm. Even at low volumes I’m hearing clarity that I hadn’t noticed on other speakers, actually thought the new Greta Van Fleet song I heard my wife talking trying to get my attention, only to realize it’s coming from the S1 PRO+ and I’d not heard it even after several listens on the iPad.
If I were to nitpick, I’d comment that the bass makes vocals, even female, somewhat unnaturally boomy. Fortunately each of the 3 volume knobs is click button accessible that cycles thru volume, bass and treble. Inputs 1 and 2 line level and instrument level adds reverb control, aux Bluetooth does not.
Playing music is rich and clear, promoting a feeling of limitless power based on the visual indicator of the volume control. Sound projects far out into the yard from close to 100 feet away.
One thing I really like is that you do not need a separate mixing console, it’s got a built-in 3- channel mixer. All 3 inputs are hot (active) too so it’s useful if your busking or playing one person shows live to have the backing track playing over aux 3.5mm or Bluetooth, your instrument on input 1, and vocals over XLR on inout 2 with independent reverb and volume control. This is also configurable within the app for alternate EQ profiles and instrument selections.
Before even getting to the conclusion, let me say this… this BOSE S1 PRO+ is a real winner !! I cannot recommend this product strongly enough!!
Pros
+ Svelte design
+ top carrying handle
+ pliable 3-prong IEC cable
+ Crystal clear Audio quality
+ integrated 3-channel mixer
+ battery life better than expected
+ USB-A and USB-C charging ports
+ included Wireless Mic / Line Transmitter
+ included Wireless Instrument transmitted
+ ch 1 and 2 modes, Vol, Bass, Treble, Reverb
+ nifty plug-in USB-C charging system for each
+ Mini LCD screen showing Volume of each channel
+ modular design that seems to imply replaceable batteries
+ incredible distortion-free high volume capacity *(read: LOUD)
+ deep sonic projection , tested 100 feet with a lot of room to spare
+ inputs are all active without a mixer board, so you can play guitar or keyboards over backing tracks
Cons
-only 2 instrument level inputs plus 1 3.5mm Aux / Bluetooth, compared to 4 on JBL’s EON ONE
-bass is strong but voices are overly boomy
-slight stutter on Bluetooth after power disconnect
-highly directional, front radiating for best sound
-you’ll probably want another one for a stereo pair
Cautions
*multiple placement configurations is super nice, something my JBL does not offer. BUT when laying on its side make sure to twist the BOSE logo counter-clockwise, as clockwise felt like it was going to break.
*the orig S1 Pro manual lead me to download Bose Connect, but contacting support the S1 Pro+ uses the Bose Music App, very useful to get the most from this awesome product.
Conclusion : if it was not immediately obvious this thing is a must buy if youre a musician playing outdoors and like deep bass and high volume. It even makes an excellent wireless outdoor speaker you can take to the beach or pool and blow away the tiny tinny handheld speakers that seriously lack sound quality for 80% of the brands I’ve tried.

I absolutely love this Bose PA system. It has solid weight but light enough to be portable and can be used completely wireless. You can use both the AC power adapter that it comes with or once it’s fully charged you can remove the power cord and take it anywhere without wires holding you back. There’s no extra battery to take out or purchase. It recharges the internal battery just by plugging it in. The battery life seems to last quite some time with volume at mid.
It’s easy to connect to a Bluetooth connection. It also has the capability to use a wireless mic setup or wireless instrument sound amplifier. I can also change its orientation to better fit our needs and location. And the sound seems to auto adjust based on its orientation.
The back display where all the magic happens is a great addition. We can see all the levels including the batteries. You can connect instruments and mics wirelessly or plug them into the standard ports. The knobs are easy to access and everything is effortless to control.
Our kids absolutely love it for karaoke. We use this primarily for our kids karaoke parties and will be using this during our park/picnic gatherings when the weather permits, as this doesn’t seem to be rated for any wet conditions. This is seriously leveling up. We will be able to attach a wireless mic and bring the karaoke parties to the park. What surprises us the most is the sound response from this unit. The bass response is pretty great. Overall quality mids, highs and lows. Haven’t experienced any distortion or drops when connected to Bluetooth.

I recently purchased the Bose S1 Pro+ Portable Wireless PA System in Black, and it has proven to be an outstanding investment for both personal and professional use. This system delivers exceptional sound quality, unmatched portability, and versatile functionality, making it a top choice for anyone in need of a reliable PA system.
First and foremost, the sound quality of the Bose S1 Pro+ is truly impressive. The system produces clear, powerful audio with excellent balance across all frequencies. Whether I'm using it for music playback, live performances, or public speaking, the sound is consistently rich and immersive. The built-in ToneMatch processing ensures optimal sound quality with minimal effort, automatically adjusting the EQ for different types of microphones and instruments.
Portability is another major highlight of the S1 Pro+. Weighing just under 16 pounds and featuring a convenient built-in handle, this system is incredibly easy to transport. Its compact size allows me to carry it effortlessly to various venues, from outdoor events to indoor gatherings. The rechargeable battery provides up to 11 hours of playtime, making it perfect for events without immediate access to power outlets.
The wireless connectivity options further enhance the system's versatility. With Bluetooth capability, I can stream music directly from my smartphone or tablet without the hassle of cables. The S1 Pro+ also offers multiple input options, including XLR, 1/4" TRS, and 3.5mm, accommodating a wide range of audio sources. This flexibility makes it suitable for DJs, musicians, and public speakers alike.
Setup is a breeze with the Bose S1 Pro+. The intuitive interface and minimal controls allow for quick and easy adjustments, even for those who are not tech-savvy. The system's design is sleek and modern, with a durable construction that feels robust and built to last.
In conclusion, the Bose S1 Pro+ Portable Wireless PA System is a remarkable piece of equipment that excels in sound quality, portability, and ease of use. Its versatility makes it ideal for a variety of applications, and the wireless features add a level of convenience that is hard to beat. I highly recommend the Bose S1 Pro+ to anyone in need of a high-quality, portable PA system. It has exceeded my expectations and proven to be a valuable addition to my audio setup.

Noteworthy upgrades to an incredible speaker line

Bose sets the bar in studio sound again with their S1+ Pro speaker line designed specifically for musicians, DJs, karaoke and music lovers and offers upgrades that are leaps and bounds above the prior model. I have been using the previous S1 Pro portable speaker for several years now for a variety of uses including plugging my electric guitar in, microphone and simply streaming music from my phone to it during parties.
In the box you can expect the S1+ Pro speaker and power cable making set up fairly simple. Once you plug in the speaker, download the app, log in or create your Bose account and sync the speaker to your account you’ll be rocking out in no time. You can scan the QR code to view the instruction manual which explains all the features which, for my typical use, are overkill. However, I’m sure they come in handy for much more experienced singers, artists and musicians. The Bose Music app is simple to use and pretty self-explanatory as well. You can sync most popular music streaming services through the app to cast directly to the speaker if you are planning on using it for a Bluetooth speaker.
Like its predecessor, one of the best parts of this speaker is that you can simultaneously plug in two sources, like a guitar, keyboard and/or microphone and stream from another source to this one speaker at the same time. The rear of the speaker has a wide variety of features including two channel inputs, a mono line input, and auxiliary stereo line input, convenient USB-A and USB-C ports, a line out for use with a XLR cable to connect to another system and wireless transmitter charging ports for those talented musicians and karaoke aficionados.
Perhaps my favorite upgrade to the S1+ Pro is that it’s truly portable with a built-in battery that can last hours before it needs to be plugged in. Think about tossing it into your vehicle before a camping trip and not having to worry about being confined near a pesky outlet. Or in a setting where an outlet is too far away and you don’t want to run an extension cord. This was available on the previous model however it was a separate accessory with an additional cost.
Another welcome upgrade on the S1+ Pro are the digital displays for each of the inputs. These can display the volume level, EQ adjustments as well as being able to go in and toggle other settings without having to rely solely on your smart phone/tablet app. With this new model, Bose is currently using their Bose Music app, not Bose Connect, to manage the new S1+ Pro features which unfortunately means I am not able to sync the S1+ Pro to my S1 Pro for dual casting party mode that is now offered.
Audio enthusiasts, like me, are amazed by how loud and crisp the sound the S1 produces considering its size and portability. It is exactly what you would expect from Bose; crystal clear highs, deep lows and lots of power in a well-made product that will hold up for years and compete against other high-end sound companies. I think you would literally have to have the S1+ Pro in a large indoor/outdoor setting with lots of people to even consider turning this beast of a speaker all the way up; I have barely turned it up halfway and it’s overwhelmingly loud even in large outdoor spaces like I have my currently positioned.
Overall, Bose did an amazing job cramming in all the upgrades in comparison to its predecessor including the built in battery while also not increasing the cost to the buyers which is always welcome in an economy plagued by inflation and rising costs on everything else. I would recommend this speaker to not only singers and musicians but also just to consider for anyone looking for a Bluetooth speaker that will just about blow your eardrums out.

Very loud! I love it! I use this as a standalone speaker for vocal when karaoking. I run the vocals to this speaker and then I run YouTube karaoke songs through my receiver and surround speakers. There's no lag that I can tell and if there is, you absolutely can not tell. I really like that the volume and echo can all be done separately. I have a mixer that did that before also but I was having issues with the speakers producing static when the vocals were too high or when people were screaming into the mic. What I iike most about this setup is that I can have wireless mics, control directly on the product, and the sound is really clear and crisp. This saved me from having to mic separate wireless adapters for the mics (which I have bought but they lagged big time and you couldn't be too far away), and I didn't have to buy brand new speakers to support the loud mics when people sing loud or scream. Even though this product is spendy, for my setup, it was well worth it.

I recently purchased the Bose S1 Pro+ Portable Wireless PA System, and it’s easily one of the best audio investments I’ve made. The sound quality is phenomenal—crisp highs, deep lows, and impressive volume for such a compact unit. Whether you're using it for events, small performances, or just outdoor gatherings, it delivers professional-grade audio with ease.
What really sets it apart is its wireless capability and built-in battery, making it perfect for on-the-go use. The battery life holds up incredibly well, and the setup is simple and intuitive. I was able to pair it with my devices quickly, and switching between inputs is smooth and hassle-free.
The build quality is also what you’d expect from Bose—solid, sleek, and durable. It feels premium and is lightweight enough to carry around without strain.
If you're looking for a portable, reliable, and powerful PA system, this is it. Highly recommend it for musicians, presenters, or anyone who appreciates great sound on the move.

Now this is an awesome speaker with great clarity and a ton of power needed to rock your entire backyard if needed. Long battery life and high decibel rating that doesn’t disappoint. I checked with my apple watch and it was accurate to specifications. Between 105-110 decibels max.

The Bose is a good product. Needed something quick, light, battery powered, with good options for connection, EQ, and such. I use it for a vocal monitor, keyboard monitor, Bass guitar monitor. In a smaller venue, it can hold it's own. fits on a speaker stand just fine. A bit pricy, but less than a QSC. Works great for solo/duo gigs, enough volume for my use. I use it for rehearsals as well. Perfect with the power cord as well. Bought a cover for it, but the Bose covers are too much $$. I use a gator speaker case, that works just fine for it.

Acoustic guitar gigging dream PA system

The Bose S1 Pro Plus Wireless PA system is a work of art. Historically, using a PA system meant you were tied to a power outlet and limits your options to amplify your acoustic guitar playing. Then if you were able find the outlet, a lot of portable PA systems just don’t sound as good. With this Bose S1 Pro Plus, you get clear and accurate reproduction of the sound coming from your guitar. This system really brings the pickups on your acoustic guitar to life with no muffle or distortion. The sound quality is just something to be amazed by. In addition, battery life is great. There is no problem with lasting an entire show with this PA speaker. In addition, the S1 Pro Plus has built in EQ that allows you to adjust treble and bass. The fact that Bose added the ability to add reverb to your sound is just the icing on top. It really is an all in one package for the acoustic guitar player. The fact that there are two inputs allows you to connect a mic and guitar to this portable PA system, making it the prefect artist speaker. Oh and don’t forget there is a third line-in or Bluetooth input for you to play backing tracks while you sing and play. The S1 Pro Plus works wonderfully with a Shure SM57 Dynamic microphone. You won’t be able to use a condenser mic because there is no phantom power built in, but I don’t think you would want to use a condenser mic in a public setting anyways. All in all, where ever you will bring your acoustic guitar, more than likely this Bose S1 Pro Plus will be traveling with me too.

Bose S1 Pro+ Speaker is the 2023 successor to Bose S1 Pro. The price of the new Pro+ model is $100 more than the older model. I did not deliberate between the 2 models. Although both models have vibrant, crystal-clear audio, I purchased the Pro+ model because it can be controlled manually or digitally. Through a Bose Music App on my cell phone, I easily control audio parameters & blue-tooth connection. I presently use the Auxiliary input for streaming music on Spotify and plan to use it playing audio backing tracks for learning how to play violin. I like that the speaker has a powerful sound, long rechargeable battery life, and light enough for me to easily carry anywhere. The Pro+ model meets all my expectations.
