Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the exceptional sound quality, ease of use, and impressive bass of the Smart Soundbar 600 with Dolby Atmos and Voice Assistant. Many appreciate its convenient size and straightforward setup process, although some experienced connectivity issues and found the price to be somewhat high. The user experience with the app and remote control also received mixed feedback. While some praised the sleek design, others found the remote control less intuitive and the app somewhat problematic.

      Hi Ethan,
It is odd to have the same audio trouble with two Soundbars, but I do have some steps you can try. Follow the guide here https://bose.life/438Gx3J for help, with this. Please also try adjusting the CEC settings for the Soundbar following the info here https://bose.life/3MCxhyz as different TVs behave differently to the CEC options, which is why we have the different options available. You can also reach out to us https://bose.life/contact for help if needed.

We returned this item following a recommendation that it was not easy to install/connect to internet. We instead purchased a Sonos system, which was very easy to install.

This soundbar is a joke. I was convinced in the store by a "pro" that I shouldn't buy a Samsung soundbar to go with my Samsung Smart TV. Now(regardless of what I change the HDMI arc setting to in the app) I have to turn my TV off twice every night because after about 30 seconds the soundbar turns it back on after I turn it off the first time. The bass module to go with the soundbar costs almost twice as much as the soundbar itself. The soundbar doesn't sound as good as the small Bluetooth(also Bose) one I got off Amazon for less than 200 bucks. Periodically, the sound will cut out for several seconds at a time when I'm streaming on one of my TV apps. This is one of the worst purchases I've made in a long time. I will never go against my instincts in favor of a Best Buy employee's opinion again. And this will be the last Bose purchase I make. P.S. search Google for this TV issue before you buy ANY of these sound bars, from the 500 to the 900 series of them. They all do this, and there isn't a real fix.

Also seem better at the store. I bought this to get a littlw beyter clarity for my upstairs livingroom. Sure kt helped a little bit, but it didnt help enough to make that much of a difference. The worst part about it, it doesnt mesh well with my sony tv. It always needed to change for using external speakers and then no sound came out. Had to turn off & on many times for it to eventually work. Also my screen would go black when doing the change every time i turned on my tv. It was super annoying and frustrating.

I truly wish I had a better review to share with you. Ive been a loyal Bose consumer for over 20 yrs. Every device in my home from a soundbar, to portable units, ear bugs, headphones, speakers for my computer are Bose. Ive NEVER been so dissatisfied with a purchase, than I was with this combination Bose soundbar and Bass module. Everyone asked me the size of my room, type of flooring Ive, did I calibrate the system etc.. there is no reason other than it was substandard to any other Bose product Ive ever purchased. I spoke to the best buy rep and they suggested possibly a defective unit. These were purchased brand new, not open box so i couldnt really say. I went through 3 different soundbars/speakers/bass modules and have now settled on a JBL soundbar/bass module and am super impressed with this purchase. The price was less than what I spent on either of the Bose or Samsung systems and the combo came together. Finally, im satisfied!! I hope this helps you with your future purchase.

      Hello Heather,

First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your loyalty to Bose over the past 20 years. We genuinely appreciate your trust and commitment to our brand.

However, it pains us to learn that your recent experience with the Bose soundbar and Bass module did not meet your expectations. We're truly sorry for any inconvenience caused.

We understand that you went through several units, and the fact that you opted for a different brand is certainly not the outcome we strive for. Furthermore, we appreciate your patience in troubleshooting with Best Buy and exploring alternatives.

If there's anything specific, you'd like us to address or if you have further details about your experience, please feel free to share. Additionally, our support team is ready to assist you directly at https://bose.life/globalcontact.

I would give this experience a zero if I could. I purchased this sound bar for my husband as a present for $499+ taxes. Since then, It was exchanged x2 because the sound went out and it couldn’t be repaired per the Geek Squad. Though I had a warranty I had to pay a service fee for Best Buy to see what was wrong (service fees totaled 100+ dollars). This week I received a call to come in to select an 3rd sound bar. At this point I requested a refund, because my husband never had a chance to really enjoy it and the service fees were adding up. However I wasn’t given my full refund, nor service fees back. I was told that the Bose sound bar was on sale and received the sale price refund and no compensation for the repair fees which was totally not our fault these sound bar were “lemons.” So I really ended up loosing moneys with the service fees and cost reductions, which I don’t understand how they would do this to a loyal customer.

I bought the "Open Box - Excelent condition" product. Maybe the product is good, I don't know because it's simply not working. It came with a deffective remote and ¡suprise! It doesn't work without a remote. My 1 star is not against the product itself, but against the service of the company with these "open box - excelent condition" products.

Video entertainment is VERY IMPORTANT to me and many others. Along with having great visuals, you need an incredible soundbar that will have you appreciating your viewing and gaming experience each time you fire up your television. My previous soundbar had an ‘enhanced vocal’ feature that was temperamental depending on what I was watching. I think we’ve all experienced a movie or a series where the dialogue is drowned out due to other sounds on screen taking precedence. It can be frustrating. I was familiar with the Bose brand but only recently decided to take a chance with their Smart Soundbar 600. I don’t regret it. Set-Up: The Smartbar 600 is packaged simply in one box with the soundbar, an HDMI cable, an optical cable, and a remote. I easily connected my soundbar through the eARC port on my television so that I could control the volume through one remote. Once I adjusted my TV settings to acknowledge the Bose 600, the sounds came pouring out. I should note that if you’re looking for more detailed sound control for the Bose 600, then you will need to download the Bose Music app that allows you to adjust Bass, Treble, and Height Channel as well as turn on the Dialogue Mode. Performance: One of the first ‘sound tests’ that I did was watching Cyberpunk Edgerunners (Netflix). I had watched a couple of episodes on my previous soundbar and I thought it sounded good but with the Bose, well, the sounds felt as if they were coming toward me and then expanding, creating a remarkable surround sound effect without the rear speakers. Later, I watched The Batman which also has an abundance of sound effects. Again, the sounds of Gotham were incredible. The True Space sound immerses you. Even simply watching cable was a pleasant experience since I didn’t need to turn the dialogue feature on and off. Voices weren’t drowned out as they had been on my previous soundbar. If you’re a gamer like myself then you will appreciate the Bose 600. On my Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, the sounds are insanely detailed. I played Batman Arkham City remastered and the background sounds seemed to greet me at my sitting level. Horizon Forbidden West had differential sounds coming from the left and right. I can’t wait to hear how Modern Warfare II, God of War Ragnarok, and Starfield will sound through this soundbar! I initially thought that the lack of a subwoofer would take away from my listening experience but because the Bose 600 delivers powerful self-contained bass and treble, I don’t feel like I am missing out at all. Minimal Space. Big Sound: The Bose Soundbar 600 isn’t bulky. Nor does it scream, ‘Look at me!’. It’s a minimal piece of equipment that will probably have your guests wondering where all that powerful sound is coming from. As this is my first Bose product, I am VERY happy with it and I think you will be as well.

An auditory punch in a small package

The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 packs an auditory punch into a small package with just enough features to make it a great purchase for smaller rooms. The Bose Soundbar product line-up currently includes the 300, jumps to 500, then 700, and tops off with the 900. The size of your room should be the key factor when determining which Sound bar to consider and as the product numbers would suggest the higher the number, the larger the soundbar and the more audio goodness is included. The 600 is a replacement for the now discontinued 500 and without having owned a 500 the only major differences I can see from Bose’s website is that the 500 lacked Dolby Atmos support and the 500 included an ethernet plug for connectivity. The 600 does not include ethernet instead opting for wireless only, but the 600 does include Dolby Atmos which previously required you to make the jump to the 700. What I find to be the most annoying problem is that Dolby Atmos requires eARC support on the TV but eARC is still not the default for most new TVs under 50 inches. Soundbars like the 600, are better suited for smaller rooms where big TVs don’t make sense and so to add Dolby Atmos to a small room you end up with the visual incongruity of an overly large TV just to get the eARC port you need. Sitting beneath the TV too-big-for-the-room is this tiny sound bar that just looks silly - but hey it sounds awesome right? Dolby Atmos upward firing speakers also require ceilings under 6 feet in height to properly reflect the sound so pay attention to the ceiling height of your room if you are interested in Dolby Atmos. What I love about the 600 is how simple it is to integrate with my existing equipment. As I moved the soundbar though my home trying it in different room sizes with TVs from Sony, LG, Samsung and TCL I was happily surprised that I did not have to program anything and most importantly my existing TV remotes were able to control the volume of the soundbar and power the soundbar on and off without me fiddling with any of the settings. This also led me to my one other annoyance which is that there’s no visual display on the TV when adjusting volume, and there’s no real visual display on the soundbar either so unless you go from SUPER LOUD to super quiet, it’s sometimes hard to tell if pressing the volume button is working. The soundbar includes a mobile app, and keeping it connected to Wifi is a good idea as there is a day-0 firmware update needed. There is also a second firmware update on the way to add the Alexa integration which currently is missing from the unit. I’ve always enjoyed Bose products and consider this one another great choice for people who need better sound than the TV speakers but don’t want to install free-standing or in-wall speakers to the room.
