Would not recommend the 500 not up to Bose standard in my opinion. Should have a sub however for best tonal quality. While the 700 sub that matches the 700 sound bar is outstanding I will probably get the 500 sub as I have a size/location limitation in my room. Probably be OK as I do not require wall shaking bass for audio effects associated with movies
