Sound for days!!

I had a full surround system that I’d only had for a few months, and I’d had nothing but issues with it, plus the sound quality from that sound bar, subwoofer and two surround speakers can’t even compare. Setting up the sound bar out of the box was so simple, and after downloading the Bose app the rest of the connection took less than five minutes. From in the app you can adjust the bass and treble which is super cool when going from streaming music to watching a movie. Our favorite thing in my house is definitely the Alexa connection! I love being able to ask Alexa to play my favorite songs on Spotify while I’m cooking dinner or cleaning the house, but then also being able to ask her to text my husband to pick up something on his way home. The multiple options for control, from the app or the remote or even voice, makes the sound bar so versatile and ensures that even someone who is not tech savvy will still find this product easy to use. Everyone should own this sound bar if high quality, crisp, clean sound is what you desire. I cannot wait to purchase the subwoofer and surround speakers to see how the sound can be elevated!

Terrible!

There are better options at this price point.

A smart soundbar requires internet access to be able to perform many of the functions of the product. The best manner in performing a setup of a network based product is to use a dedicated app, such as the Bose Music app we have provided. Connectivity Issues

Soundbar

I am a Best Buy premium member. I just spent $6000.00 for tv & sound system and I cannot get Best Buy to come back until January 15th!

Bose is Cheaping out!

After spending $900 you have to go out get a 6 foot plus HDMI cable!

Superb Sound From An Industry Leader
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The TLDR version is this soundbar is amazing. Setup on the Bose Music app is simple and easy to use. I was able to add my Google Assistant to the soundbar with only a few clicks. If you so choose, you can add Amazon Alexa as well. From within the app, you can also add additional Bose speakers if you have them from a previous setup. The sound is exactly what you would expect from Bose. It does offer eArc as well as optical connection options (wires for both are in the box). I fired up a Dolby Atmos clip on YouTube and the immersive sound coming from soundbar is hard to put into words. Bass is well above average for just a single soundbar. Voices are clear and distinct, and not drowned out by music and action scenes. One last point I would like to make is the device itself has a premium look and feel. It will work with any room in the house and with any design. Excellent job from Bose on the design and implementation on this soundbar. Outstanding sound and features, coupled with an elegant look and feel make for an outstanding product.

Expectations down.

Then errors saying room to loud and tried again the next for the acoustical adjustment and says it hears nothing and something wrong with the head set that came with it. I have a Hisense u8g and sounds as good as this so 800$ and going to return monday right after Christmas. Hisense does sound that good for just a tv. Brother in law told me to get sonos so I guess he was right.Sorry Best Buy its not your fault.

Quality soundbar with great sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is the first dolby atmos supported soundbar from Bose. Visually the top is all glass like the 700 but with cutouts for the top speakers. Its a tad bigger than the 700. The remote is identical to the 500. Feels like quality all around as you would expect from Bose. Setup was a breeze with the Bose app. I was able to setup the speaker and also connect an existing Bose Bass Module to it. Since its a "smart" soundbar you can set it up to use either Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. I appreciate having a choice! The app allows you to add/remove accessory speakers, change source, stream music, adjust eq settings, select assistant, name device, and so on. It also shows you what audio format the soundbar is playing in. So you can use this to check if its truly playing in dolby atmos or some other audio format. Like its predecessors its modular so you can add more speakers if needed. I suspect there will be more accessory speakers but it is backwards compatible with the existing from the 500 and 700 systems so thats a huge plus. It has one earc hdmi port and one optical. Comes with both cables but you will want to use the hdmi cable to get the most out of it. As for sound quality its the best soundbar I've ever owned. The soundbar by itself is not a true multi speaker surround sound system but it does a pretty good job of sounding like one. When watching tv or movies I hear sounds coming from all over the place, especially when watching something with atmos. It fills my living room and has a deep sound. I have caught people in my household thinking they are hearing things upstairs while watching movies when it was in fact just audio from the soundbar. Another one of the things I really like with all of the Bose soundbars, and this one is no different, is that the dialog from the tv is very clear and doesn't require any fine adjustments out of the box. Overall I'm very impressed with the audio quality it produces from my tv and while streaming via bluetooth from other devices. Just keep in mind that to get dolby atmos you need to hook it up to a tv that supports it. If you don't the audio will be downgraded to something else like dolby 5.1, which in my opinion still sounds great. I think the 900 is a nice upgrade over the 700. This has replaced my older soundbar and multiple bluetooth speakers in my house. If you are looking for a quality soundbar thats loaded with features, sounds great, and supports the latest audio formats then this is it.

Does not Work

My $900 sound bar either doesn't work or it was installed improperly. Why did the Tech leave it like this?

Disappointed

With regard to Bluetooth, check for sources of interference. Electronics can pick up interference from other electronics connected to the same power circuit or connected within close proximity. Bose, not what it used to be

Its easy to set up, albeit a little too app dependent for my taste. Sound is clear, and dialogue is clean, but be aware that you need a sub with this. There is no low end sound really so without a sub it just sounds flat. Steer clear of the 700 Bass Module, mine started popping in 4 days and Bose only could suggest that i wire it up. Nah the whole system just gets returned.

Delicious sound

I am duly impressed with Dolby Atmos too, since this single device does an astonishing job at simulating movie theater sound. I initially thought that I would need to supplement the soundbar with a dedicated woofer, and indeed this is an option. However, there is plenty of bass punch from this unit by itself, and so I am going to hold off on getting additional speakers for now. Setup is mostly intuitive, but I would recommend reading the directions, and familiarizing yourself with the Bose App that acts as a controller. Once set up, there is also a simple remote control for volume adjustments, so that you don’t have to use the app for most daily tasks. Bluetooth and network connections allow for streaming from the web or any connected device, and this works very well.
