Bose 900 requires internet to be maximized. Don’t have it. Could have done fine with the Bose 300, and saved $400. Shopped on line. Mistake. Shame on me.

      Hi Allan,

You can use the Soundbar without connecting it to the internet. It is preferred as it ensures that you get the latest firmware updates when they are available.

You can contact us https://bose.life/38DNELy for help with setup without the app if needed.

This soundbar was really easy to set up, however I kind of wish I didn't need the app to do so. The quality is great, getting it to work with my television, as far as on and off goes was a little troublesome. I also wish it had included a subwoofer. I'm not sure why Bose opted to not include one with this product.

It has good bass without the need for a sub. I have it placed under a Qled 65 in my home office, and it fills the space perfectly. I have another top-ranked sound bar and this one is just as good

    Clear sound, clunky operation

I like the sleek appearance of the sound bar. I wish the bottom was more slip resistant. It slides easily all over my TV stand which isn't ideal with kids around. The cables were shorter than I expected when I was setting it up. I already had the Bose Music app due to my other Bose products but being forced to use that for setup is inconvenient. Having no instructions for troubleshooting and looking up other features of the sound bar was extremely frustrating. The sound quality has the clarity I expect from Bose so that was satisfying. However the bar lacks any kind of bass even with increasing the bass output and comes across very flat. My other Bose products have had excellent sound with plenty of bass and immersion. This bar will have to have a subwoofer addon and should of come with one like other companies. I liked that there is a Dialog Mode. I could tell a difference with dialog being more clear but it was kind of useless. Since there's not much low end to the speaker I didn't have a problem with action scenes and muddy dialog. It is very inconvenient that you have to open up the app on your phone to turn it on and off. There's no button on the remote and Alexa can't turn it on or off. It will probably be more useful with a subwoofer. I was very disappointed that my Bose Sports Buds don't pair with the bar so that I could use the Simple Sync. I was excited about this feature to use at night to not disturb the rest of the house. The other problem I have is that often the sound will stop working when I switch TV apps from like HBO Max to Cable and other similar situations. I have to connect my phone to the bar and change the source around to get it working again. I'm not sure why this is an issue since the sound bar shouldn't care I was using a TV app, the input is still coming for the TV regardless. I like being able to have Alexa in my living room. I'm just disappointed that there are more TV related voice commands. Like controlling sound bar settings or launching video apps and playing content. I don't think I'd really recommend this to a friend since I've had better performance out of other sound bars.

Hey, It's great to hear you're enjoying the sound quality and design of the Soundbar 900. It's a shame that you're disappointed with some of the features. You first mentioned that the soundbar is quite slippery. There should be rubber feet on the bottom to stop this from happening. If you don't have these, then please contact our support team to have replacements sent out to you.

For any troubleshooting materials, you can find a full range via our support site - https://bose.life/3nFHeRc. Alternatively, the Owner's Guide also lists these - https://bose.life/3zhQBIX.

It's strange that you've felt the soundbar lacks bass response. When setting up the soundbar, did you complete the ADAPTiQ calibration? This will monitor the surrounding environment through microphones and ensure that the levels are adjusted for the best sound output. If you haven't already completed the calibration, you can do this within the product settings in the Bose Music app.

Regarding the SimpleSync compatibility, I am sorry that this is not something currently available with your Sport Earbuds. With this in mind, we'll be sure to pass along your feedback for future consideration.

You're correct in thinking that changing the TV app should not stop any audio from being received by the soundbar. For this, I would recommend that you reset the HDMI connection. To do this:
      1. Turn off the soundbar, the TV, and any other source devices that you have connected.
      2. Unplug the soundbar, source devices, and the TV from power.
      3. Disconnect all HDMI cables at both ends and reseat them ensuring secure connections.
      4. Reconnect the source devices, the TV, and the soundbar to power.
      5. Turn on the TV and the source device.
      6. Once the TV and any source devices have finished powering up, turn on the soundbar.
If the issue continues to happen, please do contact customer support for further assistance. - https://bose.life/2WZOG8Z.

    Warm Clear Full Sound

Great warm but clear sound. Very appropriate for my modest sized apartment. I do not wish to disturb my neighbors with a sub-woofer. Warm sound with music, especially with a slight base boost. Clear speech on TV using the dialog mode, especially where there is background music. Directing some of the sound up and to the sides results in a fuller sound. Not quite surround sound, but in that direction. My only complaint is that it can be tricky going into Bluetooth mode.

I am rather disappointed with Bose on this entire experience. The sound quality on the 900 is amazing. Connectivity is clunky at best. Worst has been Bose customer service. Every day around 5 pm I get a blinking white light - this is not an Alexa notification. I call Bose and after 20 minutes of the same unplug, turn off, etc they finally transfer me to someone who knows what they are sound and then magically get disconnected. Same story 4 days in a row. I would return it if I didn’t mount it on the wall first - that was a rookie mistake in my end. I assumed that $700 for a soundbar would get me best in class quality, but I was wrong. This is likely my last Bose item for a while.

      Hello,

Thanks for leaving your thoughts on the Soundbar 900! It's great to hear you were impressed by the sound quality, but it's terribly disappointing to learn you had regular issues with connectivity, I can certainly appreciate why that would leave you feeling like you want to return it.

With network-connected devices there can be an array of reasons why connection issues occur, and the first could simply be the way your internet router is set up to handle devices. That's the first place I'd suggest looking. Instructions can be found on our website here: bose.life/47Uw4M9

Amazing Bose The only downside of owning the Wireless Bose with Subwoofer is that Electronic interference is a issue with other Wireless Devices and especially Routers. You need the Bose connector that goes from the Soundbar to the Woofer as a direct Link. Bose may be kind enough to give you one free as they did for my other Bose, but that was like 6yrs ago. Although it is not expense. Overall I love Bose product and the Quality sounds amazing.

I listened to this soundbar and the Sonos Arc in the Bloomington, IN store. In my opinion the 900 had a much better sound. I ended up ordering the 900 and the base 700 directly from Bose because I couldn't find anyone in the store to assist me. The setup is very easy and with the Dolby Atmos the sound is quality. I would recommend this soundbar. The soundbar by itself produces good sound but adding the base 700 to it took it to whole new level.

Amazing sound. A constant annoyance of watching movies is that the dialogue always gets drowned out with the ever changing volume of the background noise/music. This soundbar completely fixed that issue and even has a dialogue amplify mode. The sound in all aspects is amazing. If you’re on the fence just get it, you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve had a Samsung sound bar for a few years now, but wanted something a little more high end. Immediately I noticed a difference in being able go understand dialog on TV shows better, and thats with dialog mode turned off. You hear little details in movies that you didn’t before, and with the Bose app you can tune everything to your liking.

There’s a reason Bose is the official sponsor of the NFL. Bose definitely brings the boom when it comes to the Bose 900 sound bar. Highest quality of sound I’ve been able to find to bring the movie theater feeling to my living room. Only con is that I didn’t buy this sound bar earlier with my other tv purchases. Love this product!
