We recently replaced our old SoundTouch system with the Smart BOSE speakers. I am a loyal 30 year BOSE customer and they never let me down with the sound improvements. Spectacular full sound immersion in a small room, and paired wit the BASS 700 - get ready for a full theatre experience. The look of the 900 is stunning, we also enjoy the whole house ability when we pair with Smart Speakers and the Portable Smart ... this may be my last BOSE upgrade ... can't imagine anything sounding better.

It holds its own! For music and acting as the front channels for 5.1 surround sound it’s excellent. It can put out good bass (not rumbling, but deep). It’s decently capable of throwing sound left and right. Very clear dialogue at any EQ setting which is great. Only slight disappointment is that the Atmos effect is not quite as strong as all the marketing pitches. It’s sort of their when scenes are quiet and there’s just a few elements they’re trying to articulate as above. But in loud action scenes if there’s an overhead effect it’s pretty hard to pick out of the noise.

The Set up was a Challenge, I had to get Bose Involved. Tech Support was great. The Soundbar build and sound quality does not disappoint, The bass pleasantly disturbs the peace. I added the bass module. Job well done Bose... Wish the sound bar set up was plug and play. You should not have to have internet to use a Soundbar . I also have the 700, I have not used Alexa or Google option on either bar. Siri does my heaving lifting on voice commands, My Samsung Smart TV voice option is only a back up singer to Siri. I am sure the added voice feature will be great for other applications. The bose App has nice control options for the Soundbar. I rarely touch the Bose Remote.

Review of Soundbar purchased with 700 Bass module

Great sounding and looking sound bar that we purchased with the bass module 700. We have the soundbar located beneath our TV in a room sized 18 x 30 ft. Enhances viewing experience of movies etc. Really like how easily the bluetooth connects and disconnects to stream music. It has performed flawlessly with Iphone, Ipad, and Macbook. If watching TV and choose to connect a different device for music, it will stop the TV audio, and resume playing when the music device disconnects automatically. The soundbar was purchased with the Bass Module 700. Connecting the bass and soundbar was easy. I downloaded the app in the app store and followed the step by step instructions. The instructions were easy to follow. The remote control is okay. It's not needed for how we use the TV. I could imagine its condition deteriorating quickly with frequent usage. The included cables feel good quality. The Soundbar was purchased on sale for approx $700. While still relatively expensive compared to competitors products, I think the sound and aesthetic at this price is a very good value. I would recommend the Soundbar and bass module to a friend.

Great sounding soundbar! After doing a ton of research, we purchased the Bose 900 to replace our Samsung Q90R (which was a terrible soundbar experience). Dolby Atmos sounds great, things sound crisp and clear a very high volume levels, and the app is very user-friendly and allows for EQ tweaking for your best experience. I paired the soundbar with the 700 bass module, which sounds amazing, so, unfortunately, I cannot give any feedback on the bass quality from the soundbar itself.. Overall, we are very satisfied and would recommend.

I replaced my 5 speaker surround sound system with this sound bar & it works great. It seems to work just as good as my old surround sound system without all 5 speakers hanging up everywhere. Clean look too. Which is what we were going for. I would definitely recommend this sound bar anybody looking.

Great sound, not so great compatibility with my TV and Apple TV box. I’ve connected the Bose to the ARC (not eARC) and can’t figure out the right combo to get them to work together using thenCEC functions. I ended up going to the optical connector and just turning the Bose one when I want it on and using the TV speakers when I just want to use the TV speakers. This means the extra money I spent for Atmos sound was wasted for now. Eventually, I will buy a newer tv and see if that fixes it, if not, optical works and it does sound way better than just the TV, but not $900 worth.

One of the great features of the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is its exceptional sound and performance. This soundbar delivers. The crystal-clear audio with amazing deep bass and immersive surround sound is intense. No matter if I'm playing a movie, music, or even games, the sound quality is top-notch, making every audio detail come to life.

Sound quality is superb with high clarity and perfect balance of bass/treble. Honestly, I would be giving it a 5 Star if it was still the first 48 hours after purchase/install. Here’s when the rating decreased to a 3 Star; Day 3. We only stream (no cable/satellite) by utilizing all of our apps on our LG TV. The issue (which at first thought it was just firmware updates) was when changing from one streaming app to another OR pausing/replay of a show, the sound would just stop; this happened roughly 60-70% of the time. Along with the firmware updates, also replaced HDMI cable (connected via ARC), WiFi issue (hardwired connection to eliminate this), and then began questioning if it was our TV. With this said, we’ve had 2 other soundbars connected to the same TV (Bought 12/2019), and had no issues like this. We brought our old Klipsch bar (2015) out of another room and there were no issues. At this point, I knew it was the Bose soundbar that was the issue. If it wasn’t for this issue on top of the issues of a constant popping noise from the Bose 700 subwoofer, we wouldn’t of taken this back and bought another brand. We truly loved the incredible sound quality but paying $1,600 for the combo, didn’t feel as if we should be experiencing this. I hope Bose figures out this issue and the issue with the subwoofer (common issue I found when researching online) because if they do, we’ll buy Bose again but until then, I’d save a little and go with another brand. My suggestion, do an hour of research on different ones at the price point before buying.

Hello, I am glad to hear that you enjoy the high clarity sound of the soundbar 900. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing partial audio when switching between apps. I would recommend trying some of the alternate CEC options that can be found in the settings on our Bose Music app. Some of these settings are related to audio and can help improve the HDMI CEC connection, you can follow more on this via our support article: https://bose.life/3wyra6z.

Regarding the Bass module 700 popping, this does sound like a wireless interference issue, where something in the room like a Wi-Fi router located too close to the bass module and is causing interference between the soundbar and bass module's connection. Should you need further assistance please contact our technical support team and they can assist you further: https://bose.life/3NmwWPe.

I've been a big fan of Bose for at least 20 years now. After a ex-girlfriend stole my last Bose system, I bought a new 75' TV with recommended sound system. Well needless to say the sound system sucked. Now after a few years and thinking how nice it would be to able to buy a system where via Bluetooth I could put speakers in every room link them together and listen to the same song throughout the whole house. I'v always hated being in a rear bedroom and hearing the muffled sound of music playing in the living room. I like to crank it up. Well finally my prayers were answered and Bose did it !!! After much research and reading a lot of reviews I bought 4 Bose 900 Sound bars, two 700 Bass Modules and a pair of 700 surround speakers, linked them ALL together with the Bose music app on my phone and its AWESOME!!! The sound is GREAT,( no more muffled sound ) easy setup. Once again Bose delivered. I have absolutely no complaints. FYI, the Bass , treble etc; must be adjusted thought the Bose music app, and if the sound over takes the 700 surround speakers while watching tv just turn down the center speaker volume to level out sound.

The sound produced by the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is terrific. I found the unit to be easy to set up. The only problem I have is that at this price point, it should not be necessary to be frequently unplugging and plugging wires and cables in order to get the Soundbar working again. Come on Bose you can and should do better.

I am glad to hear you love the sound of your soundbar and how easy it is to set up. It is surprising that you need to unplug and plug the soundbar in to get it working. If you are getting no audio, you can check out our great guide which I am sure will eliminate the need to unplug the soundbar: https://bose.life/41fHZkd

If the soundbar is losing power, I recommend trying a different power outlet or power cord.

I absolutely love the quality of this soundbqr even turned up on high volume there's minimal distortion. I have a Samsung Smart Tv, however, it's just old enough that I don't have the ability to download my Spectrum Streaming service. Because of this I had to go with Roku. That was not by choice either, because Spectrum does not work with Fire, anyway my point is I had to use the HDMI port for the Roku stick, which meant I had to use the digital connection for the sound bar, even though I specifically bought this for the HDMI port.

Enjoying the sound but having problems coordinating it with my Samsung TV. With the HDMI plugged into the speaker and ARC port on the TV, I turn off the Tv and a minute later, the sound bar turns on the TV. Mailed it into Bose and they're looking at it.

I cannot say enough good about this sound bar. I upgraded from a basic Samsung 2.1 from 2012 to this excellent specimen so I might miss some of the more minute things that stand out against its peers but for what I wanted it is incredible. The ease of use is second to none, from set up to daily use. The app is bare bones but delivers everything you expect it too flawlessly. The sound is exactly what you come to expect from Bose and I wholly recommend adding a bass module to compliment. The price point is obviously on the high end but you are paying for the Bose experience.

We've had this sound bar and the BOSE 700 bass for about a month and a half. Really like how it sounds. Wish there were other audio input options, but that is a minor issue. It was fairly easy to set up, but then again, I had Best buy TotalTech helping me. I find the Bose app to not be as intuitive as I would like. I've found myself exiting the app when all I was trying to do was go back to a different screen. I was able to connect via bluetooth with my old Pixel 3XL, but so far, not with my Pixel 5.
