    Constantly disconnect from TV and have to rest all the time.

      I'm sorry to hear your Smart Soundbar 900 isn't staying connected to your TV, Dawn! This could be a problem with the HDMI settings between the soundbar and TV. To tweak this, go to the Bose app, tap the "Settings" icon, scroll down to the "Power" section, and then select "HDMI Power and Audio". You can choose from several different options here.     I highly suggest against purchasing this product. Initially purchased this product and plugging everything in. Bose Soundbar was stuck on updating for an hour. I attempted to toggle between wifi and ethernet to see if that would speed up the update process. However, when looking at the numbers through my system the product was only downloading at a rate of 100 kbps max. The internet package I currently have at home is 1000 MBS down & up. In addition, the soundbar was unable to reset both from factory and unplugging. It would stay stuck on the downloading update loop (light flashing). When I researched online, I found multiple users experiencing the same issues. I ended up returning and going with a different brand as Bose has recurring issues with connectivity on their products. Save yourself the time and headache and pass on this product.

      Hello Ray, updates on the soundbar can take up to 45 minutes. If you find that the soundbar is updating for longer than this, I'd recommend trying the recovery mode method to help reboot and push the update install through to the soundbar.     Bought this the day after thanksgiving for a xmas/birthday present for my mom for 2021. I considered in buying the JBL 9.1 soundbar after being blown away from a friends recent purchase. BUT Mom being a BOSE fangirl, I decided to get what she wants and to replace her current BOSE 2.1 system. I had installed the soundbar 1 week before xmas because I didn't want to be doing an install during the holidays. I do love the minimal look and setup was fairly easy. The sound was lackluster compared to the booming sound from JBL... but again this isn't my gift. After the third day of the running the system, the family and I were watching a movie. After a bathroom break, I resumed the movie and was met with no sound. Needless to say everyone was upset, and I was panicking. After about 30 mins, I had to do a hard reset on the soundbar and install all the updates like i did when i first got the product. It was up and running... but the family wasn't happy and was already looking to swap the device for another BOSE. Fast forward to XMAS, I was working... We did have extended family was over opening gifts... etc. I later received a text from mom saying that the audio had cut out again and the movie that was playing, was heard through the tv's speaker. Never in my life that i had a speaker so buggy. I returned home, and was able to stream music from my phone to the soundbar with no problems, BUT wasn't able to get sound from any streaming service or cable TV. I don't have the time or the patience to trouble shoot a speaker, it should JUST WORK. Bought the JBL 9.1 today.

    I'm a Bose fanatic. However, I'm extremely disappointed at this sounbar especially at the hefty price you expect the best quality. From day one, despite following instructions and troubleshooting, the soundbar goes from TV speakers to soundbar. Terrible and annoying to say the least. Save your money and go with another brand. I don’t recommend the soundbar. Gave product 2 stars because it sounds great when it wants to work.

    I was excited when I first set this up because it sounded awesome. But my excitement quickly turned to frustration because I had problems with it not playing when I turned the TV on. I would have to turn the TV back off then on again to get the soundbar to work. Then there were times it would appear to be working but no sound would come out. You could turn the volume up and down and it would appear on the screen as if it was working but no sound. So I connected it to my phone via Bluetooth and no sound. So I'd unplug the thing and plug it back in and it would work. After reviewing it on Bose website they responded with things to try to correct it. Tried everything I could with no luck. Finally after trying the optical cable, which doesn't allow you to control it with the TV remote, which was the whole purpose of spending $900 on an HDMI soubdbar, it stopped working altogether. I mean I couldn't even get it to power on after switching from HDMI to optical, then back to HDMI, it was completely dead! After several attempts at getting it to power back on it went back in the box and back to the store. I give up! When it's back in stock I'm buying a Sonos Arc!

    First of all, I would not get this without the bass module. I love it and would give it a 5 but the set up was aggravating, took me a couple hours, the update got stuck on installing, then it just worked…

    The remote doesn't work sometimes. We have to unplug the sound bar to reset it before it turns on. For $900 it shouldn't be that difficult to use the sound bar. Other than that it sounds great.

    expensive option; hard to troubleshoot with BOSE app if sound goes out; i just turn it OFF/ON to reset stuff because app is useless; there's just a black box with nothing giving you any useful information if things stop working

    Sounds is great both for music and speech compared to tv. Also allowed me to eliminate my other speakers in tv area. I have some issues with HDMI hookup however and have been using optical as it is more consistent.

    Great sounding product, great improvement from previous gens, with easy setup. I was suppressed by how much bass is generated from this, before even hooking up a subwoofer.
