Bose soundbar 900 sounds amazing action , and war movies sound amazing

The sound really comes at you from alot angles. Really clear vocals.

We bought the sound bar in Jan of 22. It has started playing up and not producing any sound.

As a live long loyal Bose customer it’s hard for me to write this review. The sound bar 900 has been a big disappointment. The sound frequently drops sound from my LG CX television. It happen within 30 days of purchase and my gut feeling was to return it to Best Buy for a refund. Instead though I called Bose tech. The tech support person assured me it would be okay to keep it because Bose has a one year warranty. After two months Bose had no fix for the sound bar so I exchanged it for a new one. Well the second one has the same problem. I suppose I’ll keep sending them back until I get one that works properly. I’ve read several blogs of Bose customers having the same problem. One guy said he sent 10 of them back before he finally got one that didn’t drop sound from his TV.

Has connectivity issues with LG TVs , I never could get it connected via hdmi arc even after a tv repair service coming to double check everything. I will be returning

First thing you notice when you pick up the box is the weight of the Bose Smart Soundbar 900. The design of the soundbar is solid and very good looking. The size is perfect for my TV as it fit perfectly between the 42 opening between the legs on each side. It also doesn't sit to high to block the remote signal to my TV. Bose has made the setup process so easy. There's no reading a manual to setup the soundbar, just download the Bose app and it guides you threw the steps to get your soundbar working. It's great that Bose includes an HDMI cable or optical cord to connect your soundbar to the TV. Then you can connect to your music services and Alexa or google assistant to give the soundbar commands and get information. The microphone works amazing and can hear your commands from across the room even with your TV or Music playing loud. The last setup you need to do is the ADAPTIQ audio configuration. This enables to you maximize the sound in the room your soundbar is in. Once setup is complete sit back and enjoy the amazing sounds that come out of the soundbar. I put on Mission Impossible to test the surround sound. It was amazing. I actually felt like explosions were going on around me. Even as a helicopter were flying by in the movie the sound actually felt like the helicopter was over my head. Listening to music from Spotify sounded great too. the sound traveled well throughout the house. If you have other Bose products you can link them together with this soundbar and get the same music playing in different rooms in the house. Bose products never cease to amaze me and this Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is the best soundbar I have ever owned.

The short review is WOW! This soundbar is incredible! The more in depth review... Bose has created a big soundbar with 2 upward firing speakers, Dolby Atmos capability and Google/Alexa built in. This soundbar is longer and thicker than my prior speaker (Bose Soundtouch 300). The box contains everything you need for setup: Soundbar, power cord, Optical Audio cable, HDMI cable, and the setup device for the ADAPTiQ feature. You will need to download the Bose Music app to do the setup and connect to the soundbar. I found setup to be very easy and quick. Once it was plugged in I pulled up the app, it quickly located the soundbar, connected to Wi-Fi and the app walked me through some options and settings (sharing mode, Amazon or Google Assistant, Accessory Speakers, ADAPTiQ setup). You can skip these and do them later if you just want to get going. Once it's setup, in the app you can control Center Channel, Bass, Treble, Height, accessory speakers, sync and delay, CEC capability, Power sync, standby timer, etc etc. Basically, everything is done through the app and there are lots of ways to customize the sound for your space and liking. The sound this thing puts out is fantastic. It gets loud while staying clear, produces pretty decent bass for not having a subwoofer, and the upward firing speakers bounce sound off the ceiling making it feel like you have more speakers hiding somewhere in the room. This is especially true when watching Dolby Atmos rated movies, where you get a close to surround sound feel with just a soundbar. There is also a setting in the app for Dialogue Mode, which is helpful if you're just watching the news or listening to podcasts as it tunes the speaker to focus on the talking and not the background noise. I checked this out for a while by itself, and then I connected it to the Bose 700 subwoofer. The two combined create a movie theater experience in your living room. I have no doubt adding some satellite speakers behind you would give you a little more of that feel, but honestly, with this new design I don't think they're necessary unless you have a really large room with high ceilings. Overall, this is the best soundbar I've ever used, hands down. If you're in the market, definitely give this a hard look, you won't be disappointed.

It’s ok but not sure it’s worth the money. A little overpriced.

The best no complains easy to install. Everything was easy to pair

The 900 model adds features from the current Bose 700. The 900 adds upward firing speakers at each end and support for Dolby Atmos. A new smaller remote is also used on the 900, but I question why. The 700’s remote was lighted and looked more practical. The new remote is not lighted and difficult to use in the dark. However, the Bose App basically replaces the remote. The App is the way you set up the Bose and connect to your WiFi out of the box. It can select your source, control volume, be used as an equalizer, and connect you to Pandora, Tunein, iHeart, SiriusXM, and Spotify. Using the App, you can quickly pick your Pandora or Spotify and play right from the Bose App after you do a setup process. Both Alexa and Google Assistant are built in. With Alexa and skills set up, I can ask Alexa to play a Pandora station and control volume on the Bose 900. I can also play Amazon Prime Music via Alexa. With the Voice 4 video capability, you are able to expand on Alexa skills. In addition to controlling your smart sound bar, you can control your TV and cable or satellite box with just your voice. With one ask of Alexa, you can turn on your TV and smart sound bar, tune to a station by network name or channel number, and start watching your favorite shows instantly. This is set up with the APP I really like the options to use Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay to play music. Airplay is so simple and offers a much higher quality sound connection than Bluetooth. I like that feature. Additionally you can Bluetooth out of the Bose to compatible Bluetooth speakers or headphones for music in other rooms. Good expansion capabilities. The sound is strong, powerful, and extremely clear. Unlike some Bose products that sound somewhat “muddy” or lacking crisp highs, this unit has incredible midrange and highs! The bass is strong, solid and distortion free. Without a separate subwoofer, this unit will not thump your chest or shake the room. As a standalone unit the bass is good and likely perfect for locations where you don’t want to disturb the neighbors. If you want more, then add the sub woofer module. Myself, I would prefer more and would prefer the additional subwoofer and rear channel speakers. Vocals in music and on the TV are extremely clear and easy to hear. In the App, under Audio, there is a “Dialogue Mode” toggle that further enhances the words dramatically. One of the most startlingly strong points to this unit is its ability to clearly reproduce words. Music sounds extremely full, robust, and room filling. It does not sound like the music is coming from just one speaker. It is good enough to make friends say “WOW”. I finally got the Adaptiq function to work on my unit. This is to set up the sound field automatically to match your room. You wear a headset that plugs into the unit while the system plays various tones to “test” the room’s acoustics and make changes. After 8-12 tries I finally got it! Each time the app said there is a problem with the headset and to contact customer support. It turned out to be a border line connection between the cord and the sound bar. It worked when I left the plug out about a 1/16 of an inch. The headset is kinda cheesy with no rubber grips to hold it to your head so it slides around a lot and falls off. After the set-up for Adaptiq, I watched Avatar on BlueRay, a great sound track. During the jungle scenes you could hear a wide field in front of you with some sounds coming above and to the sides. Bass was good. I think some rear surround speakers would make it much better. Now for the negatives: There is no way to determine what sound format is being listened to. I mean is it Dolby 5.1, DTS, DTS:X, Dolby Atmos, or synthesized. I grew up with the separate surround systems where the receiver displayed the format, so I miss that here. If anything is missing, you won’t hear Atmos and you won’t know unless your ears can tell. There are no HDMI Inputs on the sound bar. This is unfortunate. You eat up one of your TV HDMI’s (the ARC one to carry the sound to the sound bar). It’s now useless as an input. All that gets displayed on that HDMI input is a black screen telling you to download the Bose APP. Bose is missing an opportunity to piggyback “on screen” information about the sound bar on top of the video coming through the sound bar if they supplied HDMI inputs. At this price point I would expect more. Conclusion: The build quality, the visual sleekness of the unit, and the sound are awesome. I almost feel this unit works better as a music system than as a TV sound bar. I like many of the features, but the lack of additional HDMI inputs, and the problem with the headset to set up the Adaptiq are negatives for a new product. Also you may very well need to buy rear speakers and a base module to make this a real 5.1.2 Atmos system by my standards. For that, I will give this a 4 out of 5.
