Drops in and out half the time

Support has not been helpful. Will try to sell as used, because it’s basically more trouble than benefit.

Beautiful Design, Superior Sound

Modern lines with a nice black finish, looks great in any room. Setup was a breeze, download the Bose Music app, follow the instructions and it took all of 7 minutes to have it up and running. Once it was setup it synced automatically with my 55” LG OLED via the eARC HDMI port (no having to put in a code or search for it). There also the ability to use a optical cable, which I tried first to test the sound quality but the HDMI cable is by far and wide the better option. When it comes to sound quality it’s everything you’d expect from a Bose product. Deep bass and crystal clear sounds really deepen the experience. From football, to nature shows to Star Wars everything sounds top notch. This thing has power too…fire up any scene and it will shake your room! I’ve owned a lot of sound bars over the years and this is by far the best one I’ve ever heard. You will not regret this one bit!!!

Not as big a sound as desired

It's clarity is really good for voices, but it lacks the sound stage.

Solid Soundbar
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My review is for the Bose Smart Soundbar 900, I was using the soundbar for about a week in my living room with my 70" OLED TV, and replaced an LG sound system, I have now moved the unit into my gameroom & have paired it with a new 60" Vizio that came equipped with eARC and Dolby Atmos support. While in the living room connected to a unit without eARC I was pleased with the quality of sound but never noticed any breakthrough quality in the sound range or depth. I decided to move the 900 to my gameroom after setting up my new 60" Vizio that I realized came equipped with eARC & Atmos support and I then realized what the hype was about. The 900 has a very nice build quality to it, it is quite heavy and feels very solid, nice lines and an appealing glass top. The unit is setup via the Bose app which you are forced to use, this is something I am NOT a fan of because I have grown tired of everything you buy making you download yet ANOTHER app on all of your devices just to make it work and forcing you to connect to your home wifi so they can colloect their precious data on you. With that said, the setup is pretty straightforward and quick, there are not many options to tune to your specific tastes but still a decent sound profile. I am impressed with the 900 but I think to fully experience what it can do you MUST acquire the optional bass module and likely the optional surround speaker set which all are currently not available due to supply issues. The catch with adding accessories is that you can only use other Bose model speakers and can not integrate other brands that you may have or want which leave you very limited to what you can buy to build out your system. My review was compiled before the official release of the 900 and Bose has yet to push an update which will enable the full capabilities of the speaker so I am eagerly awaiting the update to see what changes will occur. Overall I am happy with the 900 but if I were in the market I would have a hard time choosing given the similar options provided by the main competitor to Bose.

RUN FROM THIS PRODUCT!

I’ve always been a fan of Bose in the past but never again will I make this mistake. The soundbar will also randomly decide not to work/play sound. It doesn’t matter what troubleshoot techniques you use, it constantly has this problem. Not at all worth it. I wish I could give it zero stars.

Unfriendly sound bar.

Sorry I got stuck with it. I keep it without power because goes on by itself. I followed all the settings to fix it….. sorry I purchased it. You can buy it only if you’re a technician.

I don’t know if it’s my provider, the install by Geek Squad or just bad equipment but it takes several ministries for TV to function when turned on and the sound bar function is intermittent. Geek Squad has been out three times including install, two service calls and replacement. Best Buy and Geek Squad are very low on my list of business to recommend.

Thanks for your review of the Soundbar 900. What you're describing sounds unusual but may be interoperability issues between the TV and the bar. Many different brands use their own version of HDMI-CEC with various different names, so there can sometimes be communication problems present. We are able to bypass this by having some CEC settings on our Bose Music app that let you switch between a number of different setups. Goodbye sound bar

I had it connected by geek squad because I had to have another speaker system disconnected. It connected easily. After it was connected the sound quality was no better than the tv speakers. I know because the sound on the nose sound bar kept cutting out and in. After losing my patience entirely from this happening every day I tore the speaker out from the connecting wire and threw it in the recycling bin. Goodbye Bose I won’t miss you since my tv sounds just as good without you!

Awful Software Causes This Soundbar to Not Work

Even when the input is set to TV. So then you have to change it to bluetooth and then back to TV. Sometimes that will make it work. Sometimes you have to do this several times. Sometimes you have to unplug the soundbar and then plug it back in, along with the subwoofer and each surround speaker. You must do this process every single time you want to stream some music. It's a 10 or 15 minute ordeal every time you want to watch TV or listen to music. Huge waste of time and money, I hope Best Buy will refund me for the purchase.

HDMI arc connection not working!

I did all the research to solve the problem online but still not lucky to find the solution. Don’t get me wrong the Bluetooth connection is okay but you don’t get the full audio quality with it. In fact you only get the Atmos feature thru HDMI. If this problem can’t be solve. I’m thinking about returning this one and get the Sonos Arc instead.
