    You have to scream very loud so alexa build in on speaker to hear a command. Most of the time won’t do anything. The screen is off now won’t show the time or music playing. Sound it’s Okay not the best. It cant be sync to my Bose Theatre system because it’s a different generation (1 year older). It won’t let you sync iTunes Music except by Bluetooth. So if asked to play a song it won’t play it cause it’s not supported. For a year we been trying to get a solution but Customer service haven’t been able to help to resolve issues. It means product just don’t work. Worst purchase ever.

      Hi there! Sorry to hear you've been having difficulties. The Home Speaker 500 features a custom-designed eight-microphone array, so the speaker can hear you, even when background noise is loud. I recommed reading this article for further assistance on using Alexa - https://bose.life/2RYgBFC, as well as help for any speaker display or WiFi issues . If you'd like to set your display to show time, simply go into the Bose Music app and adjust, underneath Settings > Clock - thats the setting I've chosen for mine! As well as the option to stream via Bluetooth, this speaker also boasts AirPlay compatibility - a great help for your iTunes music streaming and connecting Apple devices.     Does Not Last - Very Glitchy

    This unit worked for a few months. Then the display failed. It was sent in for factory repairs. Now, the display and voice response does not work. After a factory reset, it cannot connect in the Bose app to play or connect to Alexa. Now, it is out of warranty and have to pay $99 to fix it again. It is glitchy and recommend not to purchase this smart speaker.

      Hello, this is very strange, I have not heard of this happening before. We would like to make this right, a factory reset was a great start. Please give us a call and we would love to get this fixed for you.

    OK but cuts out a lot and have to unplug and reconnect not a consistent connection, good sound when it works

      Hi.
      Please try these simple steps for a better Bluetooth connection. I suggest that you remove it from the pairing of your Bluetooth source, reboot the source, and then pair it again.
      The Home Speaker 500 can fill any room with stereo sound because the two custom drivers point in opposite directions to bounce sound off the walls.

    Was hoping in could be anyhow better than apple HomePod but I was wrong. The sound is good-same as apple. But in a few months it started to work really bad, with static frequency, Alexa doesn’t work at all, only google but sometimes it doesn’t respond correctly and any command I do through my phone or by voice responds very slow. I wish I could return but it’s too late.

    I’ve always been a big fan of Bose speakers. That is until I bought this one. This speaker crapped out after I had it for less than 2 years. It never did work quite right with Alexa. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this product. If I could give 0 stars I would.

    I received the Bose Home Speaker 500 in November and setup via Bluetooth with my phone relatively easily. The sound was great...for about 5 minutes, that's when I downloaded the app from iTunes and tried to complete the setup in the app. I couldn't get the app to work and the speaker stopped making any sound. Tried everything I could think of, but no sound from that point forward. Seemed like the speaker was receiving the input from the app or Bluetooth since it was showing album art or paging through the menus, but the speaker was silent. I ended up contacting BestBuy and they got me in touch with Bose who replaced the speaker for me. I was impressed with their customer service and the speed to get the new speaker delivered. I've had no issues with the second speaker. The app isn't the greatest, but it gets the job done. Music sounds incredible on this speaker...feels like you have 4-5 speakers in the room. Even at full blast, the audio comes through clearly. I have this connected to my TV (via RCA to 3.5mm cable), which it is not designed for, but I didn't want to buy a separate soundbar. The TV audio comes across clearly and fills the room with sound. As I mentioned, it isn't designed for this so you can't leverage the TV remote to change the volume (I use the app), so if you want a seamless experience, buy a soundbar, but this works for me. I have owned multiple Bose products throughout the years and this product has that same exceptional audio that I've come to expect from them. I would recommend this.

    Purchased for a Christmas gift last Christmas. There was an update from Bose and we attempted several times. Also took into store and geek squad attempted but wasn’t able. BB refunded the item
