This speaker has met all my expectations. The sound is amazing, like Bose always has. Only problem I had was when using blue tooth to play music, I had my connection drop pretty easily. Having Alexa tied into it made it nice to know daily info on weather, time, and to play amazon music.

Sound is excellent. Frequency output of the bose is bewildering. For the price point the speakers are the best.

Bose has done it again. You already know the sound is great. The sound feels the room like a big speaker. The only thing that is a downer is that it can’t link to iTunes yet. That is coming.

The speaker has great sound and it is very loud. I like that there is a LCD screen on the speaker. The Alexa feature is great and I like that the easy phone set up.

The sound was good, setup was pretty easy, and the phone app is a little confusing but useable. On the other hand, the failure of this device to stream anything but Spotify or Pandora directly from the Google Assistant is a major, major failing. And the generic response that they're working on things to make their service more compatible with their partners' offerings is disingenuous. You can do anything with Google Assistant WITH THE EXCEPTION of playing music from anything but Spotify. The people using YouTube Music, Google's own music service, are just out of luck. While it is possible that this is a technical problem of some sort, it's really hard to see how. It almost has to be dispute between Google and Bose (though Bose refuses to acknowledge anything, so it's hard to say.) But to say you're Google Assistant compatible when you're really partly compatible (and face it... playing music is a huge part of the actual usage of Google Assistant) is flat-out misleading. You can of course stream YouTube Music from a computer or phone, which is Bose's suggested alternative. It works, but it's not as much a solution as a workaround. Without it, the device would actually be unusable for anyone with YouTube Music, one of the largest music services around.

Can this be paired with alexa speakers to play in all rooms

I've had them for 3 years now. One will not connect, the other two have to reconnected every time I use them including deleting the ap and reloading it to my phone. Shame because they sound fantastic. I'm giving up the fight and moving to another brand,

I have been so disappointed and frustrated that i spent almost $400 on a speaker that barely lasted a year, and then its not even covered by warranty?! My Bose speakers of over 20yrs worl better than this piece of garbage, i cant believe they are selling something this awful, thinkjng i was the only one.. there seems to be numerous people with my exact issue. FIX IT BOSE, offer replacements for your loyal customers

Raced against time to Best Buy, reaching 10 min before its 9pm closing time to pick this speaker up. Had been planning to get a wireless BOSE speaker for some time but the terrible reviews of SoundTouch 20 kept putting me off. Bose 500 being a very new product, I had hoped BOSE would work hard to ensure that the bugs of the SoundTouch series would not be present in this speaker. However I am absolutely appalled at how terrible this speaker is. For the 427 dollars(incl tax) that I paid, I have ended up with a BOSE speaker that just dies for a couple of seconds in every other song! It then flickers back to life and continues indefinitely until the same thing happens again. The display remains on but the sound dies for a second to as long as 3 seconds. This repeats in a pattern every 2 to 3 minutes and then it plays just fine. I am no audiophile but I can definitely tell that I do not like how the bass is in massive excess while the lyrical audio is abundantly unclear most of the time. Also, the volume seems to automatically go down from what I start with. However, for a premium speaker, this is not what I expected, nor is it something I can accept and live with. Going to return it soon

The sound quality is fine. Doesn't blow me away like I would expect for the price, but not bad. The little screen is low res but at distance you can tell what it is, if that's valuable to you. Using Alexa has not been good. I use it for an alarm in the morning and it is inconsistent. Not good. It often fails in a number of Alexa applications. It is very pretty, though...

I had it over for a year but did not use it regularly. Yesterday when I turned it on and played some music, It looked like the speaker blew (my volume was not too much), there are annoying sounds coming from my speaker whenever bass plays. I called Bose for this issue and there charging me $104 for it.

I consider myself a pretty tech-savvy individual, and am often the person that others turn to in order to solve their technological difficulties when all hope is gone. But this speaker is infuriatingly difficult to set-up. I am on my second hour of trying to do this and tech-support and the support forums have been a circular dumpster fire. I'm now trying to install the update manually using a link provided by BOSE, which won't load. This is NOT easy and I suggest another speaker if you aren't technologically inclined.
