This fit perfectly for the limited space I have. I didn't want wires stretching all over the room. The sound is great and seems better than the Polk audio sound bar and wireless subwoofer set up I had at my house. I will say that the Universal Remote has been a real hassle, I still can't get it to work.

I like Bose. Always have. This unit had me concerned a bit but after using it a few weeks it is growing on me. The sound fills the room perfectly without overwhelming it. Bass is adjustable which is a good feature.
Set up was a breeze and connecting to Bluetooth phones etc was simple.
It is not knock you off your feet 7.1 sound though. You need to spend a few more $$ and run more wires for this.

The only thing missing is the bass (there is no subwoofer) otherwise the sound is good for a small room.

This is an easy setup sound system with good quality sound. We've had one on our Sony TV for a couple of years came with an optical connection to the TV and plug it in to power supply. Codes provided to use either TV remote or cable box remote. Not a huge headache to connect and set up like so many external speakers. Not a lot of sound adjustments compared to others but a good compromise to get good quality sound without the usual headache of programming/compatibility issues.
Bought this one as a gift for someone else.

Awesome sound for a small device. Easy to set up and love the Bluetooth capability. Using the digital cable from the tv gives it crystal clear sound. Makes watching movies awesome.

It's doing everything we wanted in a sound system.. Needed an under TV system because of wall unit. Needed a little help hooking up to cable box, blue ray player and tv but that's just because we're old folks. Wife is finally really enjoying her Xmas CD's the way they should be heard.

As with anything else having the "Bose" name on it, you have come to expect a great product with superior sound quality and clarity. The Solo 15 II is no different. While it's subtle looks may make it seem like it does not have the kick you are looking for, I assure you it comes thru like a champ. From Hip Hop to Classic Rock, regular TV shows or your extreme explosion laden film; the Solo 15 II will blow you away!

I've had the Bose Solo 15 Series II for a day now, and although I can't attest to the long term function / reliability, I feel like I've used it enough to add my thoughts so far.
As mentioned in other comments, this is not a 5.1 surround system, and that was fine with us. We've had surround systems for years and we've found that we just don't care for the floor shaking bass and surround. We were looking for a speaker bar that is clean and easy to use as well as something that sounds significantly better than our TV speakers. For the most part, that's what we got with the Bose Solo 15. This is a great unit to enhance your everyday TV viewing as well as movies (again, if you don't care for surround).
I'm not an audiophile, but I do enjoy a certain audio clarity and this unit delivers the typical Bose experience that one would expect. The bass from is not wall rattling or floor shaking, but that's ok with me. You can adjust the bass level with the remote, and there's enough bass at the upper level to make me happy. I could easily feel the bass thumping the floor and my chest. Keep in mind that placement will have some effect as well. Mine is placed fairly close to the wall.
I was a little underwhelmed with the options for connectivity. I would have liked to have seen an HDMI port on this unit, but the optical input does the trick nicely. This unit does have an auto wake/sleep mode which will wake when it detects a sound signal and sleep after 60 minutes of inactivity. This seems to work fairly well, although I did have some trouble with auto wake. I noticed several times that if I shut the unit off manually, it will take up to a minute or two to auto wake when I turn my TV back on. However, if I leave it on and let it just sleep on it's own, it wakes up immediately when turning on my TV. I'm not sure if that's a problem with just my unit, or if it's something that's been fixed in a firmware release, but I'll look into it if it keeps occurring.
The universal remote is very nice. I was able to program it for my Samsung TV and my Directv receiver, and it has all the necessary buttons to perform all functions on both. I was also able to program my Directv receiver to work with the Bose Solo as well. While it does not turn the solo on, it will control the volume.
My biggest disappointment with the Solo at this point is the fact that there are no buttons whatsoever... everything is performed with the remote. I would like to at least see a power, volume up/down and bluetooth buttons on the solo. Sure this design make the unit look cleaner, but with 2 kids in the house, remotes have a tendency to get lost. Something as simple as switching over to bluetooth should have a dedicated button. It would also be nice if there was a more meaningful display (there are only 2 lights), but this is only a minor inconvenience.
All in all, I'm happy with the Bose Solo II. It fits the usage scenario I was looking for exactly and I would recommend it for anyone who not looking specifically for 5.1 surround or wall shaking bass, but is looking for a nice sounding, easy to install and operate speaker stand that can be used with everyday viewing. As mentioned above, I do have a few issues with the solo, but they're not deal breakers. If I could pick up this unit at $299, I would be ecstatic. At $399, I feel like it's missing a few options, but it's still worth buying.
PROS:
Clean, Attractive Design
Great Sound
Easy to Install & Use
Excellent universal remote
Comes with optical cable (yay)
CONS:
No HDMI input
No bluetooth, power, volume buttons on the unit itself
Limited display
Price
NEUTRAL:
Limited amount of bass, but might be more than plenty for your own tastes
Auto wake might be finicky, I'll need to test more
Not 5.1 surround
