Disappointing...

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like Bose, and they are always known for impressive sound from compact units, but the Soundbar 500 seems to sacrifice sound quality for connectivity. Got Alexa, iTunes, Google, Spotify, all phones/computers connect easily to a sadly mediocre soundbar. The unit looks great and functions well, BUT the sound output is dull and limited. Not looking for low bass from this size system without the optional subwoofer, but the mid and high frequencies are not the uplifting rich crispy sound that Bose usually delivers. Truly was expecting more. Not sure if investing in the sub and rear speakers will help.

Have you calibrated the audio using ADAPTiQ? This will fine tune the levels and monitor the output using microphones to give you the best possible sound. - https://bose.life/2Q6mG29

Very good but broken with just 2 years of use

It's a hit or miss. When connected it sounds good. But once you are disconnected it's very difficult to connect even when resetting the speaker.

Poor sound

For the money I have always been disappointed in Bose as a company period. This would range all the way from a small portible speaker, to car stereo, to this soundbar and the sub that I had purchased with it. Seriously went out and bought a samsung soundbar for $150 and it was very comparable as far as clarity, volume, and construction. Besides that pairing it to the sub via bluetooth was horrible.
