The sound bar was super simple to install and the sound is hard to believe until you hear it. So simple to control with the Bose app on your iphone.

Just the sound bar alone cost better then other middle tier sound bars I’ve purchased with sub. Add the sub with this one. AMAZING!!!!

This Bose 500 sound bar replaced another model made by Samsung. So far, the sound is superior in quality. I will add a subwoofer soon.

I’m a fan of Bose products and this one doesn’t disappoint. I paired it with a Bose 500 sub to amplify the bass. The two together turn your living room into a movie theater. I had an expensive surround system in a house I just sold and downsized to a small apartment and couldn’t bring the system with me. This set up with the Bose products produces sound right up there with my previous system. I highly recommend this sound bar and, even more, adding the 500 sub to it.

The sound quality is great. We had some trouble connecting it to the subwoofer, but eventually figured it out.

I purchase system and with in less then 2 weeks I experience static noises from the surround sound speakers and the system does not connect smoothly when powering up my Smart TV. During calibration process through the Bose app it got stuck with a ringing noise so I have to remove all speakers a few times to restart all over connect speakers, sound bar and sub again. I would say sound great, process of app and connectivity not so good.

We've always had GREAT experience with Bose products. I can't say we go looking for Bose products to buy, but when we are in the market for audio equipment and there's a Bose option, we've gotten comfortable that we can buy with confidence. We've been talking about getting a Bose soundbar/sub/rears setup for a couple of years but just never felt the need to pull the trigger. When our 12 year old television stopped working 3 weeks ago, we figured that was the time to get the Bose along with the new television. We decided on the Sony X950G television and we LOVE it. ...but, instead of the Bose system, the Sony rep that was there had us look at the Z9F soundbar/sub/rears. Honestly, it sounded good. It genuinely did. ...and there was some money off buying them all as a package so we'd end up saving a few hundred dollars versus the Bose. Hey, I will always take the money saving option if I can get what appears to be comparable performance. ...then we got it home. We had issues with the wireless speakers dropping out frequently (frequently meaning every few seconds at varying durations). Dialog was a little hard to follow. The bass was DEFINITELY there but wasn't sharp. More mud. The feeling was our $200 Vizio setup worked and sounded better. The Sony sounded decent, but it needed to sound like the extra $800 in cost over the Vizio. Long story short (too late), we returned the Sony and picked up the Bose we intended on getting in the first place. What a waste of 3 weeks. We got the 500 bar, sub, and rears. A "little" fussy getting it all set up but the difference was INSTANTLY noticeable. First, the wireless speakers didn't drop out frequently... or at all. Next, the audio was so crisp and clear. I can't recommend this system enough for someone looking in the ~$1000-$1500 USD range.

I like Bose products and this sound bar is an upgrade from one I have had for years. The sound is good and can be cranked up to give a theatre feel without sacrificing the sound quality. I have not tried to connect other speakers but will soon. The only drawback I found is connecting it to Alexa was not seamless, unlike all their devices I have. I have left it as is ( just another Alexa) than uninstall and try again.

Unbelieveable sound. I also bought the 500 subwoofer along with the rear speakers. Wow is all I can say.

Returned a sonoas and got this instead, super easy to set up and the sound is what your looking for. Amazing sound!

The Bose 500 is really a compact soundbar being only about 4 inches wide and about 2 inches high. In the store, the thing sure did impress me with the optional subwoofer attached as compared with one of its high end competitors and really blew away the sound quality of lesser priced brands. I purchased the Soundbar, Subwoofer and Rear wifi Speakers (Subwoofer and rear speakers sold as separate accessories). Everything was very easy and simple install. No special tools necessary. Once I calibrated the room sound, I was able to get a sound environment fairly close to my previous 5.1 sound system. To accomplish that I had to max out the rear speakers and subwoofer settings using the app (Both set to 100) after using the enclosed "Headset" to calibrate the room sound environment. The recommended setup uses an HDMI-ARC port with a separate optical cable as the secondary setup (Which is what I used since my older Samsung plasma TV did not have an HDMI-ARC port). The bar also takes advantage of CEC compatible devices (Samsung calls it AnyNet+) so the TV remote is all that is necessary to control the volume of the soundbar which is a plus. I like the Alexa interface and being able to stream music through it versus the Alexa smart speaker. This is a plus. Bose Remote... It's black with very thin white lettering and not backlit. Impossible to read/feel what buttons you are fumbling with in a darkened room! Overall, I am satisfied with this Soundbar and its accessory components as a replacement for my old 5.1 surround system. It simplified my setup which was a key objective. It also improved dialog clarity at low volumes. Also a key objective. It also is an overall improvement in sound quality and adds the flexibility to manually customize the sound environment based on the type of movie/TV being watched. In my opinion, its main deficiency is the lack of front sound separation between left/right/center channel sound. That's probably the same deficiency found with any soundbar as compared to true discrete speakers found in 5.1 sound systems.

Nice deep sound. Bose quality. Has issues at times connecting to my Samsung TV via HDMI ARC. Known issue.

Great quality product. Have enjoyed this for years now. It's not a super surround sound system. It's a "sound bar", Keep that in mind. The sound is superb. I listen to music and we watch movies all the time with it. If I can find any complaint it would be one thing. Lag while watching movies. But it's probably because I may not have the best cords hooked to it. IDK, I'm a satisfied customer and I do recommend

Definitely a great addition to my TV. The sound is excellent. Having Alexa included is a definite plus.

Good all around sound bar, but needs woofer. Had trouble pairing it to universal remote, should have better instructtions
