First off, I bought and returned 4 different sound bars before purchasing this along with the 500 Sub. I finally found a keeper. I’ve seen some reviews that mention the sound wasn’t as “impactful” as they think it should have been for the money. Not sure what source they are using but I watched Interstellar in 4K and was blown away by the clarity and clean sound. The bass (with the sub) was tight and didn’t just produce noise. I’ve yet to test it any louder than half way but I’m not sure how that isn’t enough for some of the reviewers. Very easy to set up and great sound. The only slight negative may be the remote and that’s only because it’s small and very basic. Have had no issues with App that can be used to adjust settings. Came close to buying the 700 series but I’m glad I didn’t spend the extra money since there’s really no need to.

Ok so I recently got this bar as a gift so I'm super excited about this. I'm a huge Bose fan already so now that I have had this over and I have to say I'm impressed. Im a big movie fan and I love great sound. The bass alone from the bar is great. It's clear and it has a great sound stage. I love that I can here all the little details in all types of movies. Music is also clean and crisp. I love the Bluetooth and I love the Alexa built in. So all in all I love it. The only thing I think they can do alittle better is the set up with adapt Iq. It took about 30 minutes to set up but in the end worth the wait!! So in all honesty I love this bar and it really complements my 4K tv very nice! Great job Bose I put up also a little clip so who ever sees this can get an idea of how great this bar is my review and words can't do it justice. It's just that good so make sure to put on your headphones so you can also see for yourself

The Bose - Soundbar 500 with Amazon Alexa Voice Control was linked with the Soundbar 500 Bass unit. The system was installed in a larger than recommended space. The audio was stronger, brighter and cleaner than the alternatives. Low height and profile make for both visual and aural pleasure. Great work Bose!

I really want this. I was asked to review it and I have to return it, but I will be buying it at some point for sure. What isn’t to love?! First off it’s a Bose product so the sound is top quality. This is sleek and even sexy looking and goes great in my living room. It isn’t over powering at all and blends in with the decor. The sound is awesome, but again it’s a Bose system so of course it’s great. AddAlexa in and this is the perfect product. Alexa works great. Even when I have the music cranked up very loud, I can still talk to Alexa and she hears me and does what I ask of her. I have Siri, but I dare say Alexa is better. Easy set up through the Bose app. I can even customize the sound to my liking. And then there are the apps that I can use with the sound bar. Bose, you hit another one out of the park! Thank you!

I’ve never owned a sound bar before and I’m so pleased with the quality of the sound I now have. Impressive crystal clear, full depth sound comes from this small and sleek device! The installation was painless. It’s important to note that I’m not a tech-savvy user but I had no problem setting this device up. I was enjoying the bass behind my new sound bar within MINUTES. I’m very pleased with the product and the higher level of quality I’m now experiencing while enjoying my entertainment. Game days will never be the same in my home!

I upgraded to this from the previous model being a loyal bose fan but am kind of surprised as to how much of not an update it is. pros: - quality sound - great tech for sound direction projection - pretty easy to setup presets cons: - pretty low in volume - you need to have the Bose Music app to setup the system If you're looking for a good sound system for movies or for a sound system for your easy listening music then this is great. But I wouldn't use it as a sound system to play music for a big party. Overall still pretty happy with the system though. Really hoping they add Google Home support soon.

Well, plain and simple, for the price, what you get, the sound, adjust sound and functionality through the Bose Music App, this system is PERFECT. I couldn’t be happier. Set up was a piece of cake. TV, movies, video games and especially music using this product is second to none. A friend of mine has the Bose Soundtouch 300 system and my options and sound are the same, but with smaller components and he paid $500 more so I feel I got a great price. I recommend this entire 500 system to anybody. Nice work Bose

I primarily bought this for my bedroom. I didn't want something as big as the 700 or even the Sonos Beam. I went in to BestBuy just for the Soundbar but ended walking out with the Base 500 Module because it sounded so much more awesome with it, even though the Bar itself sounded darn good, but with the Base it will give you an EarGasm or two. This is my 3rd Soundbar from Bose and I have been happy with all of them. I might upgrade my Cinemate 130 in my living room for the 700 system with Rear speaker.... Maybe :) Cheers!

I don't think I've ever been disappointed with the sound quality of any product that has the Bose name. Even without a subwoofer, this soundbar sounds great. That said, they should probably stop with the sound. The built-in Alexa is too sensitive. She answers from anywhere in the house. She can hear you, but you can't hear her when you're in a different room. She's also slow to respond, and she's not capable of doing everything that other Echo devices can do. You can't even change her name from Alexa, like you can with Echo. My second complaint is that it always changes the TV display input over to its port on the TV when it turns on. So if I turn on a device on the TV, the Bose will turn on and take over that devices input. I have to switch back to whatever device I was trying to watch. The curse of having "smart" devices I guess. (I didn't choose smart devices, they chose me). Needless to say, I don't think AI will be taking over the world anytime soon if it can't work together as a team. So again, great sound, unsmart smart stuff.

I was blown away by the sound quality of the Bose sound bar 500. It was super easy to connect my phone via Bluetooth. However connecting to my tv was a different story. My smart tv doesnt have an Arc hookup and that is the only way you can hook it up. My regular flat screen tv has the ARC hookup and it was an easy hookup. Other than that I am very impressed with this product.

First off, I got this soundbar as a replacement for a different brand soundbar that I really liked and sounded great but would no longer connect to its sub-woofer and was out of warranty. So my expected use and expectation was for a great tv/movie sound experience. In this regard I am disappointed with the soundbar 500. It has very basic functions of treble, bass, and mid-range control through the mobile app and nothing else, and no surround effect. I do have the bass module subwoofer - it adds some depth but not deep, booming bass. The whole setup seems geared more to music/radio than tv. The alexa voice control is nice but I had some problems getting it working. I had to deactivate and reactivate it in the Bose music app after adding the Alexa app to get it to work. Bottom line sound is decent but not dynamic - bass is weak and no surround effect. Maybe adding the surround speakers would help, but they're another $300, and being disappointed with the performance of the soundbar and bass I wouldn't spend that amount of money more to still be disappointed. Therefore I don't recommend - It's not worth the price. You can do better for the price. I feel like mostly what I paid for was the name not performance.

Great sound but gets messed up too often when trying to update sent mines out 2 times already and it happened again

The best part of the Bose Soundbar 500, no surprise here, is the sound production. The experience was what I’ve come to expect from Bose. The purest sound across all ranges and no distortion at the highest volumes. One of the clever surprise features that was much appreciated was the dialogue mode. This is a switch in the app that clarifies the conversations between people on the television. I was skeptical that such a thing was possible but it was true. I have taken to using the cc on my television as a matter of routine because I miss pieces of dialog when just using the sound alone. I no longer need to clutter my screen with captions due to this feature. It truly cleans up the sound of the human voices to make them more distinct. Although the setup was a bit cumbersome in that the device had difficulty finding my wifi, and I had to purchase optical cables for my four-year old television, once initially connected it was never a problem again. I’ve only been using the soundbar for a couple weeks but I would have a hard time doing without it already!

The BoseSoundbar 500 was easy to set up. The clariety of sound is great. Both listen to music and watching TV have bcome more enjoyable with this. It's sleek modern design goes with any decor. And it does not take up much room.

This Bose 500 sound bar really gives a great sound for small to medium size living rooms, if you have a bigger and large living room go with 700.

This soundbar adds great look and sound to my TV room. I purchased it due to sound of my TV is horrible, I can only hear music but voice is not clear. Adding this soundbar was amazing investment. It has not only enhanced sound but makes it feel like watching movie in theater. Few things which are great about it is, easy setup with bose music app. Very easy setup with Alexa and it works great with voice commands. Remote feels great and works well too. I also noticed that it was difficult for soundbar to setup using given mic. But everything else went smooth. Sound is great even at max, it doesn't feel irritating but gives theater effect. I definitely recommend this product. Great job Bose.

So I have owned this soundbar for almost 3 weeks...love the sound with the additional 500 sub woofer. However, I have had to return my first one for a replacement. Alexa works when she wants and the sound for no reason would blare out static. So I returned it for another one...so far no static sounds, but Alexa again works when she wants. I had to constantly reboot the first one and it seems like I have to with the second one. As much as I want to love this product, if this continues I might have to return both the soundbar and sub woofer and look for another brand.

I am a Bose lover. Have earbuds, QC35, QC35 II and had a Bose system in my last three vehicles. I was cyber shopping last week and had a NEED to put some surround sound in my bedroom. I bought new TVs last summer and a soundbar for the living room and was given chills when I heard that delicious thunder and ear candy surrounding me. I wanted that for my bedroom too. I Iive in Manhattan, my bedroom is 11x12.... nothing huge. I knew I should go a little smaller or I would blow the windows out. So, I went for the Bose Soundbar 500 and two speakers for my nightstands to get surround sound. I called home to check what we bought for the living room and was told it was a Sonos. I figured, Bose is going to blow me away if Sonos can. I get everything set up and then crawled into bed, ready to be taken away. .... ... .. . . I was shocked at how pathetic it sounded. I even had two extra surround speakers by my head which should have more than shamed the single Sonos soundbar in my living room. I am off today and decided to crank the Bose up and watch a movie since I likely wouldn't annoy any neighbors. This thing is a waste of money. I am not a tech-head, but this thing sounds like some Magnavox special from the 90s. I do NOT understand these high reviews. I just don't. I have to be real to understand, the chance of having bought a bad soundbar AND bad surround speakers all in one transaction is practically zilch. It's raining today, but come tomorrow, this BAD purchase is going back to the store and I am getting another Sonos Playbar (seriously, the Sonos is a friggin BEAST).

First soundbar i had ever purchased. But you cant go wrong with Bose

I started testing the product over a month ago and my first impression of the product was not particularly great as it is made out of plastics. Moreover, considering the track record of Bose products in past, I was surprised how Bose have not emphasised on the product designs. Once the Soundbar 500 is connected, it works perfectly fine, and certainly produces top notch sound quality as expected of Bose products. Nevertheless, dust accumulation can be a problem, which certainly need to be mentioned here! Alexia works well but not with some apps.
