I went with this unit over the SoundDock III in order to get Bluetooth and save $100. I wasn't sure I would get a good sound from the smaller package, but it has been great. It's loud enough to fill that area of our house and it has deep bass. I am really happy with this purchase.

As stated in other ratings.....would be even better if Bluetooth capable and or cordless option, but doesn't take away from the great sound. I would recommend these to anyone.

I had a Sony dock before with lots of extra stuff that I didn't need on it. radio, alarm, etc. etc. And I always needed an adapter for my iPhone. This fits my 6S. The only drawback was that I needed to cut off the bottom of my stretchy phone case, but I didn't really mind. I love this dock.

Disappointed in Bose for common sense

Why this isn't made with a phone case in mind is nonsense. Everyone has one! I even bought a new case thinking it might be thin enough to work on this unit. Nope. Major disappointment. So, I went back to Best Buy in Bourbonnais to exchange it for a Bose - SoundLink® Mini Bluetooth Speaker II. They had a demo but it was not working...I asked the sales rep if it sounded as good as the Sounddock xt that I have purchased, and he said "probably!" I asked if the SoundLink II had 2 speakers, and he said he wasn't sure! BUT, low and behold, the the SoundLink III (for $120 more) was working! I ended up keeping the Sounddock xt and am currently looking for an extender. Bose should either make this so it works with a case, or sell an extender or phone case that will work with this unit. Aggravating!

However, it is a hassle to have to remove my Otter Box case from my phone every time, in order to "dock" it. Because of that, I wouldn't buy it again, but would opt for a wireless Bose speaker instead.

I will be taking this one back and trying the portable Bluetooth bose speaker. as of right now spend a little more and get a better one.

No Bluetooth, Doesn't work with Older IPhone

Also doesn't work with older iPhones -- nor does Best Buy sell the requisite adapters. In fact no one does. Discovered this the day after the box and receipt were thrown out. Now stuck with a useless piece on my desk.

Posted .We are sorry to hear about the confusion when choosing the Bose speaker that best fits your needs. While this speaker isn't designed with older iPhones in mind, we are happy to confirm that you can use this speaker with one. To do so, you would use a 3.5mm audio cable and connect it from the headphone jack of the phone to the auxiliary jack in the back of the speaker. For best audio results when doing so, make sure that the iPhone's volume is set around 90% and control the volume from the Bose speaker.
